Another ordinary day of school. Kurenai was walking home, deciding to go on her own. Having friends for a change was nice, but she wanted time to think. I need to find the right person to help me with... She was cut off after accidentally bumping into someone, ending up knocked over in the process. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, pulling herself up. The man glared at her, and continued on his way. Ugh, people these days... I'll never find who I'm looking for. I hope he's had at least some luck by now...

"I.... I see..." Hayate could not help but feel a bit sympathetic towards Azure. She certainly sounded like what she was saying was true... but at the same time, he couldn't shake off the suspicious feeling he was getting from her either.

"That doesn't sound like something that my teacher would do. I do not believe she would be so callous," Hayate said, defending Kurenai.

"I know she doesn't seem like a bad person on the outside... But I can't think of any other reason why she'd so suddenly appear out of nowhere and take my position. Doesn't it sound suspicious?" Azure asked Hayate. "She must have some sort of secret plan..." She paused to think, and noticed one specific word from Hayate that stood out... Teacher... "Wait... She's your teacher?" Azure asked, suddenly interested. "Does that mean... You know her in the real world?" She asked. This could be exactly what I need...

"Not... exactly..." Hayate said, once again attempting to steer the conversation more into his favor.

"So... You do in some sort of way?" Azure asked Hayate. "If you do... Then I'd like to meet her to ask what her side of the story is. You understand that... Right?" She asked, and grasped Hayate's armored hand. "Help me out... Please?"

Hayate grew more nervous as Azure took his hand with hers. He also grew more confused as to what to do by the moment...

"Well..." Hayate sighed. "Alright then. I'll speak to Teacher about it... but for the record, I don't believe she's planning anything. Still, it would be nice if you two could settle whatever issue you have with one another peacefully." Hayate, for the time being, believed she would actually do so.

"Hm... Okay. Thank you, Cadmium Limit!" Azure thanked the naive boy. I was hoping for more... immediate results. "In that case... Tell her to meet me at-"

Before Azure could finish her sentence, rushed footsteps could be heard entering the training room. Azure looked towards the door, and saw Cyan Swan and Blue Ape both burst through the door.

"Hey, what's going on, Azure?" Haseo asked as he entered. "Someone stopped us when we were about to leave Blue Legion's territory... There's not a meeting today." He said, looking confused, but also slightly suspicious.

"Why would you tell us about a meeting when there really wasn't one?" Kurenai asked, a hint of anger in her voice.

Azure began to stutter. "Th-there wasn't? A messenger notified me that there was supposed to be one today, and they wanted you there immediately!" She explained nervously. "I wouldn't lie... Right, Cadmium Limit?" She asked, hoping for the new trainee to join her side.

Frankly, at this point Hayate was getting a bit tired of jumping back from emotion to emotion with Azure.

"Teacher, Azure has something she wants to ask you," he told Kurenai outright, hoping that either Azure's issue would be resolved, or maybe whatever he was suspicious about would be confirmed...

Ugh... This isn't looking good at all... Azure thought to herself angrily.

"What is it, Azure?" Kurenai asked.

Azure lowered her head. "Who... Are you? How did you suddenly become so strong...?" She asked. Azure gripped her lance, preparing to battle if the need arose. She fought the urge to go and behead the girl now, reminding herself that the Blue King would easily kill her if she started a fight.

Kurenai was silent for a few moments. "I'm Cyan Swan... Wh-what do you mean?"

"You know what I mean." Azure looked up. Despite having a mask covering her face, it was clear by the tone of her voice that she was angry with Kurenai. "You came out of nowhere, and within a month, became the second most powerful member of our faction. How did you do it? Bribes with Blue Ape? Outside programs that made you more powerful?"

Kurenai was completely speechless. Instead, Blue Ape began to speak up. "Azure, stop! What are you going on about?" He asked the girl.

"She stole my position from me... My power and status are both gone, all because of Cyan Swan. This world was the only one where I could get as much attention as I used to, and now that's gone!" Azure shouted. She rushed towards Kurenai, preparing to stab through her chest with her lance. "How do you like it when this world is taken from you?!"

Hayate watched as Azure poured her heart out to Kurenai, now certain of what exactly was going on. But after seeing Azure dash forward, he moved quickly, blocking Azure's lance with his own body, holding the lance in place.

"Azure... enough." Hayate said, clearly angered by Azure's decision.

Azure glared at Hayate. "Shut up! You're not involved in this at all... You don't understand my situation, or know what it is that we're talking about. Do I have to kill you, too?" She asked.

"That doesn't matter in the slightest. If you try to lay a hand on my teacher, will kill you." Hayate growled, acting as aggressive as he has ever been in the past few years of his life...

Azure laughed. "You'll kill me? Don't you remember how our sparring match went? You wouldn't stand a chance!" She continued laughing. "Now, I suggest moving over so I can finally get what it is that I deserved back... I'll be sure to make you high in the faction ranks if you let me kill her." She offered Hayate.

"Denied," Hayate hissed in a morbid tone, raising his hand in the air and, pretending the lance was a block of wood, brought it down hard, chopping the lance into too.

"Now then... if you want to settle this peacefully, we can arrange that. If not..." Hayate cracked his virtual knuckles to elicit the ending to his statement. Behind his mask, there was a look in his eye he had never used before, not even on his brothers; it was a look of pure rage and hatred...

Azure was stunned by Hayate's sudden change in mood, but quickly adjusted. Heh... I can tell he's being serious this time. Oh well, I was going easy on him before. This'll be easy. "You're forgetting, Cadmium Limit... I'm also skilled with unarmed combat. You can't save yourself that easily." She taunted, and prepared to strike. "I'll take you down now!" She shouted, and began to punch, only to have her fist caught.

"Stop. Now." Kurenai glared at Azure. "Hayate, I appreciate your concern, but I'll handle this myself. Peacefully." She said.

"In that case... Would you be willing to discuss this in the real world?" Azure suggested. Heh... I'll be able to blackmail her with all of her personal information afterwards...

"I would say that a meeting in the real world would suffice." Haseo spoke up.

"I agree." Kurenai nodded. "If that's what you want, then I'll do it."

"Of course, Teacher..." Hayate stepped down from the situation and agreed with Kurenai and Haseo. He earnestly believed that whatever Azure and Kurenai had between them could, hopefully, be settled IRL and peacefully. Even if it couldn't, he would step in just as he did not moments ago.

Kurenai nodded. "Thank you for understanding, Cadmium."

The next day, Haseo and Hayate stood outside a small cafe. Azure and Kurenai had agreed to meet there the next day, and the two boys were supposed to stay outside. Haseo sighed, getting tired of waiting. "I really hope the fact that they're taking so long means that they're making good progress..." He muttered. "I don't think I can stand out here much longer..."

"I feel the same... " Hayate said, standing against the cafe wall. He noticed out of the corner of his eye that a group of girls from school had followed him and Haseo to the cafe, and were hiding behind a building wall and spying on Hayate, which made Hayate cringe a little.

Haseo followed Hayate's gaze, noticing the group of girls staring at his companion. "Hm... You're pretty popular with girls, aren't you?" Haseo asked him. "You're lucky." He smirked.

"It's not really as enjoyable when you realize they will literally follow you everywhere if they can..." Hayate said in low spirits, looking once again at the girls spying on him as they ducked out of sight.

Haseo grinned. "I'd gladly take them off your hands." He put his arms behind his head, and leaned against the wall of the building. "I need some way to keep myself occupied while we wait..."

After Haseo said that, two girls left the building. The first, Kurenai, seemed to be talking with the second. The other was a girl who was a little shorter than Kurenai, with short, black hair, and a dark blue school uniform. She looked at Haseo and Hayate, and looked surprised. "Oh, Haseo!" She ran over to the boy, smiling.

"Hey, Rikka." Haseo grinned. "It's been a while, hasn't it?"

"Yes, it has." She replied.

"Hmm..." Hayate sat back, not knowing who this new girl was, and hoping she wouldn't turn into one of the girls that were still eyeballing him from the side...

Rikka studied Hayate curiously. "Hm... So... I'm guessing that you're Cadmium Limit?" She asked the boy, despite knowing she was probably correct. "You're not what I expected you to look like..."

"Yes, that's correct. What is your name?" Hayate cordially asked, not really referring to her IRL name, more like her Burst Link name.

"Yes, that's correct. What is your name?" Hayate cordially asked, not really referring to her IRL name, more like her Burst Link name.

Rikka smiled. "I'm Azure Serpent, third in command of the Blue Legion. Nice to meet you, Cadmium Limit." She offered to shake Hayate's hand.

Rikka smiled. "I'm Azure Serpent, third in command of the Blue Legion. Nice to meet you, Cadmium Limit." She offered to shake Hayate's hand.

"Azure...?" Hayate said, eyes widening. This was literally the same girl that he had threatened to kill not too long ago, so meeting her now just felt a little awkward. "Um... yes... nice to meet you too, Rikka," Hayate added, grabbing Rikka's hand and shaking it.
