Another ordinary day of school. Kurenai was walking home, deciding to go on her own. Having friends for a change was nice, but she wanted time to think. I need to find the right person to help me with... She was cut off after accidentally bumping into someone, ending up knocked over in the process. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, pulling herself up. The man glared at her, and continued on his way. Ugh, people these days... I'll never find who I'm looking for. I hope he's had at least some luck by now...

Hayate crossed his arms together and blocked Haseo's fists and skillfully brought his leg up and kicked Haseo in his exposed stomach. 

"Heh. Good block." Haseo flipped around, and kicked Hayate. "I'm not going to let you keep hitting me like that, though!" He brought his fist back down on Cadmium Limit.

Hayate took the blow from Blue Ape and answered back with a straight punch to the stomach followed with a left hook to the side of his head.

Despite all of the attacks, Blue Ape's HP was still at a decently high level. "Wimpy attacks like that aren't going to cut it, Cadmium Limit." He taunted. He kicked his opponent back away. "Not against me, anyway."

"My attacks are not wimpy. You shall soon see!" Hayate said, sort of getting angry as he dashed towards Haseo and kicked him right in the face.

Haseo was trying to anger Hayate. This'll be a lot more fun if he goes all out, and this is the best way to make him use his full potential. "I don't even know why all of the girls at school go so crazy for you. Heck, why don't you even take it? Guys like me are dying to get a girl, and you're surrounded by them!"

Hayate caught his fist and flipped him over his shoulder, keeping his arm and his body in place with his foot on Haseo's shoulder, once again not caring for his banter.

Haseo used his other hand to flip Hayate onto the ground, and stood over him. "It's over, now!" He plowed his fists into Hayate's stomach, making a crater in the ground as he did so.

Shaking off his pain, Hayate decided to try a different strategy and started climbing the mountains behind the two.

"Heh, where are you going?" Haseo chased after Hayate, and quickly climbed up the mountains. He tossed large rocks at Hayate, trying to knock him down. "You're trying to run? I didn't think you were a coward, Cadmium."

"Just wait," Hayate said to himself, as he either blocked or dodged the rocks being thrown at him and as he continued climbing.

Cyan Swan, who was observing the fight, sighed. Ape's being as pushy as ever...

Hayate continued to block and dodge the rocks. Eventually he reached the top and stood behind a large wall of rock, waiting for Haseo.

"Hm... Going to use that for an attack, I'm guessing?" Haseo tried to guess Hayate's strategy. "Not going to work." He jumped up, and punched through the wall. "Now then... Let's finish this!" He kicked Cadmium off the mountain, and watched as he plummeted down.

Hayate smirked behind his helmet as he let himself fall down. He landed on his feet when he reached the bottom and saw as the wall that Haseo had punched started to crumble. It then caused the rest of the mountains to rumble a bit, causing large boulders from the top to start hurdling down until they all fell on Haseo.

"You sneaky little-" Haseo was quickly cut off as he dodged around a few boulders. One hit him, and sent him spiraling off the mountain. He landed on the ground, creating a crater at the impact zone. "You're really starting to piss me off, kid..." Blue Ape stood up, and quickly ran towards Hayate. He tried to pound Hayate with a barrage of punches and kicks, his anger fueling his strength.

"It seems that didn't work. Oh well," Hayate thought, blocking and dodging most of Hayate's strikes, occasionally catching a punch or kick to his body. He was starting to slow down due to exhaustion, something that he was not used to.

"I'll end this for real this time!" Blue Ape leaped up in the air, and shot back down at Hayate like a rocket. "You're going down now, punk!" He shouted, holding his fist out to punch Hayate.

Looks like he's going all out. I'll need to isolate and defend this attack head on, Hayate thought, noticing that his special gauge was full. "Iron Wall!" he cried, putting his hands up in front of his face, Haseo's punch hitting the center of the wall he created with his forearms.

Haseo felt his fist slightly crack Hayate's armor. "Ugh... I can't break through." He jumped back. "Time's almost up, rookie. What now?" He asked, standing still. I'll counter whatever he pulls next...

"I sincerely doubt that," Hayate said cockily. once again going on the attack, spinning on his heel and deliver a high kick to the right side of Haseo's head.

Haseo was barely affected by Hayate's hit. "Heh... I think you forget... I'm a King. There's no way you can finish me off." He hit Hayate with a powerful kick, knocking him back through a nearby wall. At that moment, the timer hit 0. A message appeared saying "Blue Ape wins!" and Haseo laughed. "You're not bad for a low-leveled Burst Linker, rookie." The three Burst Linkers all returned to the real world, back in Kurenai's house.

 

"I think you went a little too hard on him in the end, Blue..." Kurenai sighed, not happy with the way her friend handled the battle.

 

"Oh, please. He was asking for it." Haseo laughed.
