Another ordinary day of school. Kurenai was walking home, deciding to go on her own. Having friends for a change was nice, but she wanted time to think. I need to find the right person to help me with... She was cut off after accidentally bumping into someone, ending up knocked over in the process. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, pulling herself up. The man glared at her, and continued on his way. Ugh, people these days... I'll never find who I'm looking for. I hope he's had at least some luck by now...

"Gh..." Hayate said, getting himself off the wall as he and Haseo returned to the real world.

"Hmm. Thank you," Hayate respectfully said to the Blue King. "But know this: I will continue to get stronger until I can surpass even the Kings of Brain Burst. That is a promise," Hayate then added, ignoring the worries of Kurenai given that he was completely fine with how Haseo was fighting him.

"Heh, whatever you say, rookie." Haseo grinned. "You've got a long way to go before you surpass me." Haseo began to brag, but jumped as he got an email. He quickly read over it and sighed. "Ugh... I need to go home. We'll meet again tomorrow. See ya." Haseo got up and waved to Kurenai and Hayate, then left the house.

Once the door shut, Kurenai looked back at Hayate. Hm... This might be a good chance. "Sorry that he was acting so cocky... He's usually like that." Kurenai sighed. "Hey, I have an idea..." She fished around in her bag, and pulled out her direct link cable. "We'll need to link, though." She hooked it up to her Neuro Linker, and offered the other end to Hayate. "Sorry it's so short... It's all I have."

Hayate grew nervous at seeing the short cable. He would have to get really close to Kurenai if that was all she had. And honestly... Hayate could feel himself well up a little inside. He kept his cool however, sort of, and tried not to focus on it.

"Alright then," Hayate calmly but shakily said, connecting his end of the cable to his Neuro Linker.

Once they made their connection, Kurenai smiled. So... I get the feeling that Haseo wouldn't be a very good trainer for you. He doesn't really see you as someone worthy of his attention. She sighed. So, instead... I'd like to suggest that you become my student. I feel like I could teach you a lot more than he could, anyway. So... What do you say? She smiled again, trying to calm the boy down.

You want me to be your student... interesting. Hayate thought, trying to keep his nervousness to a moot point. The way Kurenai was smiling at him wasn't helping. What can you teach me that the Blue King cannot? I am curious to know. As he thought his mouth was twitching in weird directions, but he kept still even so.

Well... I suggest that you don't underestimate me. She gave Hayate a more serious look now. I can't spoil all of my secrets quite yet... But I'm certainly capable of teaching you quite a bit. In fact, I'm known as one of the best teachers in the game. I usually charge, but I'll make it free for you. So... What do you say?

Oh, I see. Sorry if I sounded rash. Hayate decided to channel his feelings and be more respectable so he could remain collected. I understand. I will gladly become your student. As long as I able to get stronger, that is all that matters.

Heh, alright. Kurenai smiled again. Good to know that, then. I get the feeling that we'll make a good team. She gazed at the door quickly, and sighed. I get a feeling that Blue won't be very happy with me making you my student, though... Well, we'll figure that out later, I guess.

Alright... oh and, Kurenai... about what you said, about usually having your students pay for your services as a teacher... well... thank you. I am honored that you would go out of your way in order to help me like that. Hayate then bowed to his new teacher, his martial arts background being reinforced into his mind and instinctively telling him to show respect.

Kurenai began to smile, but when Hayate bowed, he tugged the cord, causing Kurenai to lose balance. She ended up falling on him, knocking the two to the ground. Her head ended up hitting Hayate's head. She groaned in pain, her head now throbbing. "That... Hurt." She muttered.

Hayate was dazed by Kurenai's "meeting of the minds" and closed his eyes as his head fell back on the floor. He opened his eyes and lifted his neck and head off the floor and could see that Kurenai was now completely on top on him... he had also noticed his arms were wrapped around her waist and that their faces were extremely close to one another. Hayate could only stare and feel himself well up with even more nervousness than before; he literally could not move an inch.

Kurenai quickly noticed what was going on, and even she began to blush slightly. That... Didn't end well at all. Kurenai thought, not really knowing what to do anymore. Oh, the girls at school are going to murder me. She thought to herself, not bothering to remember that Hayate could also hear her thoughts. Um... Anyway... Good to know that you wanted to be my student. She tried to smile, but it was clearly a nervous one.

Y... Yes. Hayate thought, still not able to move his face. But, um, Kurenai... could you please get off me? He asked, now able to move his other parts of his body and taking his arms off Kurenai and turning his head away so that his face wasn't directly facing Kurenai's, though he still found it difficult to even move his lips.

Oh... Right. Kurenai reached for her cable. I think it might help to end the link... She unplugged her end, and got off of Hayate. "Sorry about that..." She muttered, and held out her hand to help Hayate back up.

"It's fine," Hayate said, reaching for Kurenai's hand and standing back up again. He also unplugged the end of his cable and handed it back to Kurenai.

"Thanks." Kurenai took the cable and put it away. Note to self: Get a longer cable. "So..." She tried to think of something to get off that topic. "What now? Blue left, and now it's just us..." She sighed.

"Hmm.... well, perhaps we could get started on my training," Hayate suggested. "The earlier the better, right?"

"Hm... Yeah, that works." Kurenai opened the Brain Burst program, and challenged Hayate. They both found themselves in the same exact place where the previous fight took place. However, this time, the battle was between Cyan Swan and Cadmium Limit. "Alright... Are you ready?" The figure in the rusted armor asked.

"Of course, Teacher. Let us begin," Hayate said, settling into a fighting stance. Her fighting style is most likely going to be different that the Blue Apes. I should take careful note of it. He thought.

Kurenai also got into a fighting stance. "Hm... It seems like you want me to go first, then. Very well." She quickly ran towards Hayate, swiftly punching him in the jaw. While she also had an up-close fighting style, she was clearly much more nimble than Blue Ape.

Hayate absorbed the blow and turned his body to the side, bring his leg up for a roundhouse kick to the right side of Kurenai's neck.

Kurenai took the hit, grunting. However, she still managed to stand "Not a bad counter-attack, Cadmium Limit." She kicked him in the gut, and followed up with another punch to the face. "However, I'm a lot tougher than you might expect."

"I expect no less, Teacher," Hayate casually responded, using the momentum of Kurenai's punch to land on his hands and jump back up and towards Kurenai, kicking her in the chest with both his feet and then once more regaining his balance. "However, the same can be said for me."

Kurenai was knocked down to the ground by Hayate's attack. "Good. I'd want my student to be tough." Kurenai sounded as though she was smirking. She jumped back up, and tried to sweep at Hayate's feet.

Hayate jumped up to avoid Kurenai's sweep. Landing back on the ground, he countered with his own kick, a snap kick, to Kurenai's stomach.
