Another ordinary day of school. Kurenai was walking home, deciding to go on her own. Having friends for a change was nice, but she wanted time to think. I need to find the right person to help me with... She was cut off after accidentally bumping into someone, ending up knocked over in the process. "Oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized, pulling herself up. The man glared at her, and continued on his way. Ugh, people these days... I'll never find who I'm looking for. I hope he's had at least some luck by now...

The three quickly reached Blue Territory, where they came across an abandoned building with a few Blue Legion members guarding the vicinity. They both saluted the group as they entered, but warily watched Cyan Swan and Cadmium Limit. Once the three reached the top floor of the building, they found a female Burst Linker with shining blue armor, carrying a large lance. She saluted Blue Ape. "Blue Ape! Welcome to the base." She looked at his two companions, and slightly slackened. "Oh... And welcome, second in command..." She greeted Cyan Swan halfheartedly.

"Thank you, Azure Serpent." Blue nodded.

"What have you come here for, sir?" Azure asked curiously. "And... Who's this Burst Linker?" She looked at Cadmium Limit.

"That's Cadmium Limit, and he's the reason why we've come here to see you. He's helping us out with a mission, and we wanted you to test him out." Blue answered.

"Hm... Very well, then." There was a hint of resentment in Azure's voice, but she quickly straightened up. "In that case, let's go! Oh, by the way... We received a message from the Pink King. She's ordered a meeting in a few hours. You should probably go, sir."

"Very well, then." Blue nodded. "Cyan will come with me as my guard. I'm entrusting you with Cadmium Limit's training for the day, Azure Serpent."

"You will not regret the decision, sir!" Cyan saluted the king as he walked off with Kurenai.

"Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name is Cadminum Limit. It is a honor for you to aide me in my training," Hayate said, putting his fist on his hand and bowing to Azure as formally as possibly.

Azure studied Hayate, then quickly changed to a more cheerful state. "It's nice to meet you, Cadmium Limit! I'm Azure Serpent, third in command of the Blue Legion. Now then... Follow me, please!" She led Hayate down a few floors of stairs, until they reached an underground arena. "This is the sparring arena of the Blue Legion. I'll test you here!" She started a sparring match with Hayate.

"I see. Let us spar then," Hayate said, getting into a battle stance.

Considering she's a friend of Haseo and Teacher, she must be strong as well. I should study her battle patterns, he thought.

Azure Serpent started the match by running towards Cadmium Limit. She leaped towards him, and lunged her massive lance towards her enemy. She stabbed directly ahead of herself, hoping to hit the Burst Linker.

Hayate managed to sidestep Azure's strike. Her lance is her main weapon, so the first thing I should do is try to take it away from her, he thought, grabbing the blade of the lance and and forcing it from Azure's hands, distancing the two with a quick kick to her stomach afterwards.

Azure was surprised that her lance was taken so easily, and Hayate managed to kick her away. However, she laughed. "My lance isn't all that I have, you know." She once again ran towards her opponent, swiftly kicking him in the face, and following up with a punch to the gut. "My lance might be a powerful weapon, but I've also learned a lot about hand to hand combat. After all, the Blue Legion is famous for its brutal strength. If you won't let me fight with my lance, I'll fight with my fists!" She exclaimed.

Hayate staggered back, but kept the lance in hand. "I see. Then maybe you won't mind if use it," he proclaimed, sticking the lance's tip into the ground and spinning himself around from the handle, kicking Azure back in the process. He then followed up with a few consecutive strikes with the lance.

Azure was kicked back, but managed to dodge all of Hayate's lance attacks. "Go ahead. You won't be able to even graze my armor with it." She taunted Hayate, then swept at his legs to trip him. "You'll never be as skilled with it as I am, after all. I've spent years practicing with it."

Hayate caught himself mid air, once against drilling the lance tip into the ground, and whipped around the handle at amazing speeds, catching Azure in the chin at least ten times. He then used his momentum to swing towards Azure, letting go of the lance, and kneeing her in the face.

"You'll find that I am a quick learner," Hayate said as he touched ground.

Azure's health bar depleted quickly, but she still regained her balance and faced Hayate. "Hm... Not bad. You'd be great in the Blue Legion, Cadmium Limit." Azure complimented her opponent. "However, you're still not strong enough to defeat me." She took the chance to retrieve her lance, and swung it at Hayate, hitting him with the shaft of her weapon. She then thrust it towards him once again.

Hayate maneuvered around her strikes, albeit now a little drained. "I'm not trying to defeat you. I'm simply gaining experience," Hayate commented back.

"Hm... Good response. You'll definitely gain experience in a battle with me." Azure responded. She once again thrust the lance towards Hayate, then swung it towards him, hoping to hit him with the lance's shaft.

Hayate ducked under the shaft and sweeped Azure off her feet with with a low kick. As she was still mid-air, Hayate gauged himself and struck Azure in the back with a hard palm strike, sending her forward in the air.

(Geez man, you dodge all my hits, then say all of mine miss. That's not fair. D:)

Azure was surprised by Hayate's quick speed, and fell crashing to the ground. Hm... I guess I'll have to get serious. She jumped back up, and ran towards Hayate again. She swung her lance at him, managing to hit his neck. The force of her attack knocked Hayate over, and Azure stood over him, preparing to stab his chest with her lance. "I won't be taken down that easily..." I won't let another outsider defeat me. She thought to herself as she thrust her lance down.

(Well, gee, I don't want to get STABBED BY A LANCE. But really, I'm sorry, I'm getting carried away.)

Hayate had exhausted too much of his stamina, so Azure's lance pierced him right through his armor. He could feel the immense pain of the blade going through his body; it was probably the worst pain he had ever felt in his life, or at least one of the worst pains. He gritted his teeth behind his mask, holding in a giant cry of agony.

When Azure had managed to attack Hayate, his HP bar drained to zero. The duel ended, and both participants were recovered to full health. Azure offered a hand to Hayate. "You fight well. You definitely have potential..." She said to the armored boy. Hm... He could definitely be useful. She smirked behind her mask, thankful that Hayate was unable to tell.

"T-thank you..." Hayate said through panting as he tried to shake off his pain. He grabbed Azure's hand and got up from the ground.

Hmm... something is the matter... her touch feels uneasy... Hayate thought as held on to Azure's hand for a brief moment before letting go.

"Miss Azure Serpent, thank you for giving me this chance to train," Hayate said, bowing even while he kept his suspicions of Azure.

Azure nodded. "You're welcome, Cadmium Limit." She responded. "Hm... We've still got a while to go before Blue Ape returns from his meeting... Is there anything you would like to do while we wait?" She asked curiously.

"Well... I don't know really. In fact, now that I think about it, I figured the training with you would last a little longer," Hayate said, somewhat nervously. It was no mystery that being sociable was not exactly his strong point. He was sure even Kurenai and Haseo could see that.

"Hm... Well, I apologize. We should have planned more, and I should have known that a battle with you wouldn't last as long as my typical sparring match." Azure said, coming off as a lot more rude than she'd initially intended to. Now might be my chance... She looked around the training room, making sure the two were alone. "So... What do you know about the second in command of the Blue Legion?" She asked.

"Oh... well..." Hayate grew suspicious once more. Azure didn't sound like she wanted to know Kurenai more as a friend, but as a Burst Linker, in the sense that...

"W-well, you see, I have known her for so long. We haven't exactly traded a lot of information with one another," he said, trying to gloss over the subject.

He doesn't know much about her...? Well, that's not too helpful... I guess that makes him easier to manipulate, though. "Hm... That's too bad." Azure spoke innocently. "I was hoping that you'd be able to help me out..." She turned away from the boy.

"Help you out with what?" Hayate asked, not that he was really concerned, more like he wanted to know exactly what Azure was cooking up.

"It's something you probably shouldn't know about..." She muttered. "But, if you really want to know..." She turned back to face Hayate, and began to explain her plan. "There was a time when I was the second in command of the Blue Legion... But then, Cyan Swan came out of nowhere..." Though it wasn't visible, she sounded as though she was about to cry. "No one had heard about her at all until about two months ago, when she suddenly won a tournament against level 8 Burst Linkers. She was welcomed into the Blue Legion, and our King decided to appoint her as the new second in command... Everyone acts like it was a coincidence, but I just know that she was trying to steal my place... I don't know what it is, but she has some sort of plot, and I don't trust her at all. I know I can't do anything alone, but at the same time, no one would trust me..." She seemed to break down into tears. "S-sorry... I shouldn't have told you all of that..."
