Sword Art Online: Another Log-In 2.0 (1x1 with IitNeverGetsBetterThanThis)

Posted

The dawn of the Nervegear was seen as a massive breakthrough in gaming by many people. While the system had a few games that stood out, there was one that many people had anxiously awaited: Sword Art Online. The game was sold out nearly instantly upon release, and thousands of gamers were finally given the opportunity to play the game they'd waited a long time for. However... There was a cost. They learned that there was no way to log out of the game. After two years, a hero named Kirito saved the world of SAO... However, what would happen if he hadn't been there to save them? What if not even Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of SAO, had intended for the game to turn out this way...?

For those reading along, this is basically an alternate reality type of story. Woo.

In-game name: Keimei

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Keimei has long red hair. When in the fields, or in other areas that could require her to fight, she wears a red, long sleeved shirt, with a steel breastplate over it, along with a black skirt. When she's not out working, she usually wears a blue tank top with a white skirt.

Skills: Keimei's main skills are dual wielding, cooking, and one-handed straight sword.

Bio: In the real world, Keimei was a social high school student. When she was 15, one of her friends got her into MMO's, and she quickly became a huge fan of them. While her friends weren't able to get SAO, she got it on the first day, promising to play with them when they were able to get their own copies. However, she wasn't expecting to be trapped in the game. She hoped to be able to join or form a guild, and believed that the only way to survive was through cooperation and teamwork. In the real world, she also enjoyed cooking, a pastime which she used to her advantage in SAO.

Personality: Keimei is incredibly social, and quick to make friends. She tends to be very trusting in others, to a very extreme level. She becomes very attached to the friends she has, and tries to stick by them no matter what.

Keimei was in a complete panic. Day one of SAO, and some hacker had gathered her and all other players to the town square, to greet them with a haunting message...

"Hello, players of Sword Art Online. I have taken this world now. You have probably noticed by now that you're not able to log out. I am the one behind this. I have stolen the reigns of this world from Kayaba Akihiko, and have made it my own. If you wish for freedom, you must climb to the one hundredth floor of the castle Aincrad, and defeat the final boss. Then, I will allow you to go as you please. Also... if you are to die in-game, the Nervegear will fry your brain, killing you in the real world. Good luck... With that short, vague message, he had vanished.

"I need to find someone to team up with..." She ran through the streets, trying to compose herself. She was nearly in tears, but barely managed to stay strong. I can't die... Not like this...

Gender: Male

Appearance: Posted Image Change the armor pallet to  the armor's base color being black, and the outlining to red,, and he has black/grey eyes with light-blue tendryls

Skills: (Dual wielding will be allowed, due to the different nature of the game in this RP. This is for the skills you focus on the most. No magic, though. You can have a total of 3 main skills. Here's a list for reference: http://swordartonlin...com/wiki/Skills ) Dual Blades(Weapon Skill, Tree Branch one-handed strait sword and 1 handed curved sword(Meaning before I can proficiently dual-wield(Dual-wield effectively, I'm still able to, but not at a high level) I must either master One-handed Strait or One-Handed Curved, or both. One-handed Curved is going to Katana and One-handed strait to Rapure(Meaning, eccentially, once I get the skill levels high-enough in either of those traits, that will be the one I'm going to be using when I get there, probably, unless I just stick to one-handed versions and not specifics.) I will determine weather my tree starts in strait or curved after I get to see the weapon selections.(That all means that after I choose weather I start with Strait or Curved blades, my path will go One-Handed [swordtype] > Either it's specific Weaponbranch(Rapure/Katana) or strait to Dual-Wielding skillbuild.) In lamens terms, I have Dual-blades, but like anyone who sword-fights, is going to learn the basics first of the type of sword he is to use, so my tree will start at base-level swordsman skills and then go into specifics a bit later. Battle Healing, Slash Weapon Forging

Bio: (This can include what your character does in-game, too. Like being a Blacksmith, or something like that.) In the real world, Abisk was known as Storm Sil Abyssal, or Abyssal in the gaming-community, was a well-known MMO master, but he was growing bored of the repetitive in and outs of a basic MMO, but then a rumor for a new MMO called "Sword Art Online" came out, and Abisk was feeling his gaming juices going again.

In real life, he wasn't too social. He was sheltered from most everything and grew up lower-middle-class, he lived in the ghetto, having an abusive family, and the fact his family was often not well in the money side of life at all times made it hard not to be sheltered, but after they're first home-computer, Abisk was hooked to the internet and it's many things, including gaming.

Personality: you'll see.

Abisk was instantly frustrated from the moment of the announcement, and he took off running. He wasn't much for working in teams, normally he solo'd during the Beta, he hated the idea of having to team up, not because of something with him, he liked interacting with others, but oftentimes, he would have to try accommodating for the people in his group. "Dammi-" He muttered, until he accidentally tackled someone. "S-Sorry..." He muttered.

Kei was too busy lost in thought to notice the guy running straight towards her. They slammed into each other, and she ended up hurting herself. I feel pain in here, too... "O-oh, I'm so sorry!" She apologized. "Are you okay?" She asked the boy.

"I'm fine..." Kei lied, trying not to worry the boy. Wait a moment... This could be a good opportunity to form a party. After all, the guy looks pretty tough... "Um... Hey, I'm Keimei!" She stuck her hand out to shake the boy's. "What's your name?"

Internally, Abisk was slightly freaked out at her incredibly sudden greeting. "She's probably kinda gullible, ain't she...?" he thought, returning the handshake. "Abisk. Beta Tester." Abisk replied.

"Nice to meet you, Abisk!" She grinned, before the last part of his introduction registered in her mind. "Wait... You're a Beta Tester?" She was shocked. Wow, I really lucked out! To think the first person I met was a Beta Tester...

"Yeah. Uh..." Abisk couldn't help but stare for a moment. "God damn! First girl I meet here and she's hot as hell!" Abisk thought, then coming back to reality, he took the oppertunity. "So.. I guess maybe we should... Party up?"

(I was worried you wouldn't have him call her hot again xD)

Keimei's eyes lit up. Yes! I didn't even have to ask, he asked me! I got really lucky! "Alright, sure! We can party up." She managed to look calmer on the outside, but she was practically dancing on the inside. "So, Mr. Beta Tester... What should we do first?" She asked, hoping he'd have a good plan to help the two be productive on their first day.

"The good quests and fields will be swarmed in a few minutes..." Abisk checked the world map. "The next town over is our best bet to get new equipment, quests, and get closer to the world dungeon." Abisk muttered. "I can get both of us safely there. What do you think?"

"The next town over...?" Seems a little risky to try to run all the way there already... Of course, he's a Beta Tester. He knows what he's doing... "Sure, let's try that. How far away is it, anyway?" She asked.

"Pretty far, but if we don't go, we'll never be able to level up and get stronger so we can survive."  Abisk replied.

"True..." She sighed. "Alright, let's get going, then. You lead the way, Abisk." Kei smiled, letting him step ahead.

"Alright, let's go!" Abisk began to run, heading to the northern exit of the town, he rushed through the streets, which were filling up with players everywhere, looking to buy, sell, and trade items to begin increasing their ability to survive the digital cataclysm. "Keimei, do you have all the gear you would need for a while?" Abisk yelled back to his partner.

Keimei chased after Abisk, managing to not get lost in the huge crowd. "Yeah, I should be fine until the next town!" She shouted back to Abisk.

"Good! Let's move forward, then!" Abisk and Keimei cleared the town, it was starting to get dark. "Alright, we stop for break after the sun goes down, then we keep going for as long as we can!" Abisk yelled.

"Alright, sounds good to me." Keimei replied. "Are we stopping at an inn then, or what?" She asked Abisk, still unfamiliar with the world of Aincrad.

"We probably won't make it to the next town till daybreak, so we'really gonna break out here for a while when it gets to that point" Abisk yelled back to her.

"Got it." Kei continued running. After a while, the sun began to set. "Great, looks like we couldn't get too far..." She sighed. "Is there anywhere nearby that we can stop to rest?"

"Not really, our best bet is to rest for ten minutes and get out of here." Abisk replied. "Kayaba wanted this to feel like a grand, long adventure. We've got a whole night of running ahead of us, because enemies will try and track us down."

"A whole night...?" Kei sighed. "I didn't think we'd be travelling that long..." She kept running. Even though they were in a virtual world, she could feel herself growing tired. Wow... The Nervegear really is advanced... She shook her head, disgusted that she'd just actually praised the same machine that trapped her in this virtual prison.

Eventually, the two came up on a small clearing, almost like a path cut through a meadow. "Let's stop here..." Absik called to Keimei, taking a deep breath and stopping.

"Right..." Keimei sat down, exhausted from their run to this area. "Ten minutes, right...?" She asked, unsure of whether or not that would be enough time.

"If we need more..." Absik coughed out. "...Then we can stay for longer..." He said, sitting down. "So... I guess we should get to knowing each-other..." Abisk said, looking to the sky. "So..."

Keimei nodded, and followed Abisk's gaze. "Yeah... We're in the same party, we should learn at least a little bit about each other." She paused to think about what she'd say. "Hey, why don't you go first anyway, Mr. Beta Tester? It was your idea, after all?" She smiled.

"Alright.. well, my username is Abisk, I was in the beta for a while, since near the start. I come from a lot of diffrent walks of life, so if the way I go about things seems odd, I'm sorry." He replied.
