Sword Art Online: Another Log-In 2.0 (1x1 with IitNeverGetsBetterThanThis)

Posted

The dawn of the Nervegear was seen as a massive breakthrough in gaming by many people. While the system had a few games that stood out, there was one that many people had anxiously awaited: Sword Art Online. The game was sold out nearly instantly upon release, and thousands of gamers were finally given the opportunity to play the game they'd waited a long time for. However... There was a cost. They learned that there was no way to log out of the game. After two years, a hero named Kirito saved the world of SAO... However, what would happen if he hadn't been there to save them? What if not even Kayaba Akihiko, the creator of SAO, had intended for the game to turn out this way...?

For those reading along, this is basically an alternate reality type of story. Woo.

In-game name: Keimei

Age: 17

Gender: Female

Appearance: Keimei has long red hair. When in the fields, or in other areas that could require her to fight, she wears a red, long sleeved shirt, with a steel breastplate over it, along with a black skirt. When she's not out working, she usually wears a blue tank top with a white skirt.

Skills: Keimei's main skills are dual wielding, cooking, and one-handed straight sword.

Bio: In the real world, Keimei was a social high school student. When she was 15, one of her friends got her into MMO's, and she quickly became a huge fan of them. While her friends weren't able to get SAO, she got it on the first day, promising to play with them when they were able to get their own copies. However, she wasn't expecting to be trapped in the game. She hoped to be able to join or form a guild, and believed that the only way to survive was through cooperation and teamwork. In the real world, she also enjoyed cooking, a pastime which she used to her advantage in SAO.

Personality: Keimei is incredibly social, and quick to make friends. She tends to be very trusting in others, to a very extreme level. She becomes very attached to the friends she has, and tries to stick by them no matter what.

Keimei was in a complete panic. Day one of SAO, and some hacker had gathered her and all other players to the town square, to greet them with a haunting message...

"Hello, players of Sword Art Online. I have taken this world now. You have probably noticed by now that you're not able to log out. I am the one behind this. I have stolen the reigns of this world from Kayaba Akihiko, and have made it my own. If you wish for freedom, you must climb to the one hundredth floor of the castle Aincrad, and defeat the final boss. Then, I will allow you to go as you please. Also... if you are to die in-game, the Nervegear will fry your brain, killing you in the real world. Good luck... With that short, vague message, he had vanished.

"I need to find someone to team up with..." She ran through the streets, trying to compose herself. She was nearly in tears, but barely managed to stay strong. I can't die... Not like this...

Keimei laughed. "It's fine." She paused for a moment, then continued. "I'm Keimei. I've played a few MMOs before, so I know the basics... Aside from that, I'm pretty much normal."

(It doesn't really matter honestly. ._. I guess you can control it here since you had more planning than I did).

(Alright, then, time to be attacked by a wolf-pack)"Heh. Normal? I've never known anyone who's normal. Then again..." Abisk stopped talking, drawing his sword as wolves began to come out of the surrounding area. "...Maybe we should skin a few wolves." He muttered. "You know how to fight here, right?!" Abisk yelled, attacking one of the wolves.

Keimei jumped up as the wolves approached her and Abisk. She gripped her sword tightly, holding it in front of her to defend. "Yeah, I got in a few battles before we were called to town square. I should be good!" Keimei blocked a wolf's claws, then stabbed through it.

"Alright, then let's get the party system and Sword Skills kicked into gear." Abisk jumped over Keimei and impaled a wolf from above. "When a player is in a party, but wants to be in back to rest, we use the "switch" command. It's good for overriding the temporary stoppage of movement you get when you activate a Sword Skill, provided your teammate is good enough to hold off the enemy for you." Abisk explained as he slashed at another wolf.

"Right." Keimei nodded. She slashed through another wolf, then jumped closer to Abisk. "Why don't you go first? I'll switch in when you're ready" She said, blocking the attack of one wolf, then pushing it away.

"On it!" Abisk followed through with a upward strike, knocking a wolf into the air. "This is the last one! Go! Switch!"

"Got it!" Keimei's sword began to glow again, and she stabbed upwards, impaling the wolf on her sword. It shattered into crystals, and the typical "Battle complete!" message appeared. Keimei sighed in relief. "Wow... That was tough. We make a good team, though." She grinned at Abisk.

"Yeah... good work..." Abisk replied, sitting back down. "We should get moving very soon. The more we fight, the more Exp we earn, but we both need to rest..."

"Yeah..." Keimei sat down, and sighed. 100 floors of this, and this is supposed to be the easiest...? How are we going to survive? I don't think I could even make it through ten...
