Chapter 1

I was eight years old when I saw a dead body. A lifeless corpse.

It was raining that day. The water had pelted against my skin and soaked me to the bone.

I was a innocent child back then, not finding anything about our front door being left wide open. I had simply thought my mother had left it open by accident. So I just walked in as always.

The house had been quiet, not even the sound of my mother cooking or my father typing away on his computer.

And then there were those soft foot steps. The ones that had made me freeze up. And I knew then something was wrong.

Hushed whispers had followed and something had told me I needed to hide. But I never moved. Not an inch.

I had stood in the doorway and I saw two strangers sneak out through the back door, never noticing me.

And they left behind a trail of red.

The sound of the truck driving away had made me jump.

And I remember following the trail of the red substance up the stairs and into my mom

That... is epic. But, it honestly drove me to tears. o.o

Looks like you need a detective...
