"Che. I feel let down...After I saved you from certain doom back there, you don't even have the selflessness to help me sleep at night. Some roommate you are." He huffed.

(Um...'kay. Where're you going/what're you doing?)

(I was watching Star Wars. But he keeps talking with Greg. >_> I'll wait for tomorrow.)

Verde paused in his steps, feeling slightly guilty. He didn't turn around but he spoke quickly.

"I...that's right. Thank you, for helping me last night. I probably wouldn't have made it without you." With that said he hurried of as fast as he could being crippled.

?That night?

Verde stretched, giving a slight yawn. He had just shut down his computer after recording the events that had happened the night before and today in his video log. Sighing, the scientists aalmost trudged into his bed before hesitating. Skull's been having nightmares...and he can hardly sleep anyway. Perhaps he could go and make sure he was okay...

Skull was on his stomach, his face in the pillow but somehow still sufficient with enough air to breathe. He wasn't sleeping, just...staring into his pillow.

 

(Ohhh long reply. )

(Lolz, yep.)

 

Verde walked quietly down the hall, trying to ignore the creaking the house made. It freaked him out, odd as it may be. He became slightly paranoid, what can you do? He came to his roommates door and bit his lip firmly before rapping his knuckles gently on the hardwood.

"Skull? Are you awake?"

"Duh." Came his dull reply. He barely lifted his head from the fluffy pillow, drowsy-eyed and sprawled about awkwardly.

Verde resisted the urge to roll his eyes and opened the door, spotting Skull face down in his pillow and his limbs spread out like he was a victim of jumping off a building. He walked across the room, his feet bare except for his broken foot which was in a cast. He could walk somewhat now. Verde took a seat next to Skull and shifted uncomfortably. This was the actual reason he didn't mention his name when telling Skull he should get someone to comfort him. Verde didn't know how to comfort the teen. He was a scientist he hardly knew how to have a normal conversation, let alone alleviate someone. He glanced at the floor, finding it to have black carpeting. Surprise, surprise. Though it was quite soft...

 

( Here I am talking about flooring!

 

I just found out my great grand dad is back in the hospital. His surgery went fine but his blood pressure dropped and his heart rate went up a lot when they got home. I'm really worried. My great grand dad is really close to me, I don't want him to leave ;_; )

(Oh noes! Dx I'm just like Verde; I SUCK at comforting people.)

 

He turned to lay on his side, facing Verde. Quickly and suddenly, he took hold of his hand. "I know you probably aren't used to this, but...just bear with me." He assured him.

(Yeah, I'm really worried. I don't want to get overly-upset but I just hope I'll be able to see him at my Uncle Tony's 50th b-day party tomorrow...)

 

Verde flinched at the sudden action but didn't pull away. Instaed, he slowly rubbed his thumb back and forth on the back of Skull's hand soothingly, much like he saw Luce do to her daughter Aria whenever she was frightened.

 

Gulping and remembering what else the Sky Arco did he layed down next to Skull carefully, facing him.

 

(I'd be like: Verde...why were you spying on Luce? GAH my jokes are horrible when I'm upset. -slaps self- ALRIGHT! That's what I needed!)

(LOL I'M OKAY WITH THIS.)

 

Skull was wide awake, staring up at him with a slight tint on his cheeks. "What're you doing?"

Verde swallowed a few times before he spoke.

"What you asked. I'm keeping you company. I'm not very good at making people feel better...I'm a scientist, I only know cold facts that show you the world isn't 'nice'," He admitted. "But I can at least try. I owe you that much." Verde noticed the slight tint on his cheeks but didn't say anything about it.

 

(Aww, Verde is so cute at times!)

He blinked and accepted it, snuggling into his coat. (COATZ.) "Th-thank you..."

Verde was so lost, he had no idea what to do...but he felt his arm moving and it wrapped irself around Skull's waist. He shivered when he felt the skin, which was cold, and pulled the sheets up a bit. Verde still held onto Skull's hand and his other arm didn't always linger on the boy's waist. Occasionally, he would run his fingers gingerly through Skull's surprisingly soft hair. It just...felt like the thing to do.

He sighed in satisfaction, his blush deepening, drifting off to sleep in no time.

 

And this time with no nightmares! C:

The next morning Verde awoke feeling quite embarrassed. He was hugging Skull with both arms and Skull was clinging loosely to Verde's labcoat, and his face was unuasually close to the teen's. He could feel Skull's breath tickling his lower lip and just barely breezing his top lip. They must have shifted sometime in their sleep. Verde didn't know what to do as his green eyes flicked about and slight blush creeped onto his face.

Skull awoke with a small, barely audible 'nn' and looked up at him, only to panic at the closeness. "WHOA." He pushed away, adjusting to his liking.

Verde nearly toppled out of the bed at the abrubt action, blinking his eyes rapidly, trying to adjust. Apparently his glasses slipped, or were pulled, off in the night. He found them and put them on, looking at Skull's slightly startled form.

"S-sorry...I didn't-that wasn't intentional. We must have shifted or something in our sleep." He explained, hoping Skull wouldn't get the wrong idea. THIS is why he didn't get involved or try to help anyone...shit like this happened.

 

(I squealed at Skull's little noise before he pushed Verde away!"

(Nyoro~n It was just so kawaii desu that I had to have it. ewe'')

 

"STILL." He said, rising from his slumber and actually falling out of bed in the process. "Ow."

(Lolz, you make the perfect Skull ^^)

 

Verde leaned over to where Skull fell of the bed, shaking his head. He held out his hand to help him up.

" 'Still' what? It was an accident."

 

(GTG, bedtime -eyeroll- I'll reply to your reply in the morning.)

(Got it.)

 

Skull gladly took the help and dusted himself off. "Yeah but..."

(I lied. This is my last reply )

 

"What?" Verde wanted to know why Skull freaked. Sure it was nervewracking but..not enough to fall out of a bed...

"Nevermind." he said, getting back up to get his morning alcohol.
