I used to like the shamisen, a Japanese instrument.

 

Now...not so much. The thing is, it's originally from china, and uses the skin of cats and dogs. Yeah...

 

 

There are animal welfare society's and people in japan, who like me, have cats and dogs in their family,  protesting it so it's not like I dislike it just because im foreign, plenty of Japanese people also don't like the idea of a cute kitty being skinned.

 

I don't suddenly dislike Japan because of it. Australia had the whole racist ''White policy'' thing and France decapitated people and eat rabbits(I own rabbits so maybe I'm just biased there), etc; There is no such thing as a perfect country,  and something like this is bound to happen because humans are generally jerks to other species. But what makes me glad, is that people today are actively trying to stop it. So one day it won't happen anymore. Still, Poor animals :C

That's awful! Yeah, I really love cats too and dogs are okay I guess. I've never actually heard of the instrument before but I don't like them either now thanks to this. I care so much about animals, so this truly is astounding to me.

Yeah, I know. I don't think any life should be ended just for an..instrument. Dogs don't deserve it either.

Many people in Japan don't use it anymore and it's a dying tradition. If only they used something else that didn't cause cruelty. It's just depressing all round I guess.

That instrument does actually look familiar... No life deserves to be ended for kind of desire. Needs are okay (like food), but for something like this is just... yes, it is depressing actually. I'm glad it's a dying tradition now. One can only hope that someone comes up with something better in the future, right?
