For some reason, there seems to be a trend that whenever something is referred to as 'Heaven', or in the sky, it's usually VERY hard.
For Instance
Rainbow Ride/Bowser in the Sky (Super Mario 64)
Cloud Cuckooland (Banjo-Tooie)
Secret Seclusion (Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze)
Sky Keep (Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword)
Heaven (The Impossible Game)
Not only that, but in games like Spyro, these levels are usually near the end of the game. O.o
I guess it's just a THING, because Heaven is supposed to be a nice place, and these all counter that with being potentially difficult, and you can fall, and falling is just EASY to do in Platformers. I dunno. Obviously it's just a thing that works.
