Here is a list of great and controversial moments of this year's World Cup in Brazil.

 

THE GROUP STAGES:

 

• Clint Dempsey's 30 Second Goal VS Ghana, now is the 5th Fastest Goal in World Cup History.
• Spain were dominated 5-1 Vs Holland in their opening game of the World Cup, conceding more than half of what they scored during their World Cup campaign in 2010.
• In Holland's 5-1 domination over Spain, The Flying Dutchman, Robin Van Persie scored one of the goals of the tournament (See Spoiler)

• The Godly Goalkeeper of Mexico, Guilermo Ochoa arguably is Goalkeeper of the tournament rivaling best goalkeeper in the World, Manuel Neuer after his amazing Group Stage performances.
• Were Brazil helped by FIFA? After many controversial decisions given in favor of Brazil, many wonder if FIFA were involved in it.
• Spain were the first team along with Cameroon and Australia to leave the tournament after the current holders of the World Cup suffered shocking group stage defeats to Both Holland and Chile.
• England failed to impress as they were also knocked out of the group stage for the first time ever after a defeat to Italy and massive underdogs Costa Rica sealed their fate after beating Italy 1-0 and England losing to Uruguay 2-0.
• Mexico had outplayed a Poor Cameroon side even though they suffered two disallowed goals which were completely legal.
• During the England V Italy game, a scary Andrea Pirlo free kick came in but sadly bounced off the bar and as England keeper Joe Hart was going to retrieve it, he swore at a ball boy screaming "Give me the F*cking ball now!"
• The first time Goal line Technology was used ever was in the Honduras V France game.
• Pepe appeared to headbutt Germany midfielder Thomas Muller
• The first goal of the World Cup scored was an Own Goal from Brazil full back Marcelo.
• Luis Suarez done it again as he bit Italian Centre back Giorgio Chiellini.
• Russian Goalkeepr Igor Akinfeev appeared to be blinded by a Laser light in a game Vs Algeria which resulted in him conceding.
• Ultimate Underdogs Costa Rica managed to escape their hard group easily which included 4 time World Cup Winners Italy, England and Uruguay not only with 7 points, winning the group easily and also sealing England's fate
• Tim Cahill of Australia scored the goal of the tournament (See Spoiler)

THE KNOCKOUT STAGES (UP UNTIL FINAL):

 

• The Nigerians were accused of trying to match fix their game Vs France.
• Costa Rica done the impossible again after seeing off Greece in their Last 16 game which ended 5-3 on Penalties to the underdogs but sadly went out on Penalties to World Cup 2010 Runners Up Holland 4-3 on Penalties.
• Brazil yet again controversially proceeded through a round which was the Quarter Finals after mugging Dark Horses Colombia off 2-1 after David Luiz scored another goal of the tournament after scoring an amazing 30 yard free kick (See spoiler):

• Costa Rica should have been awarded two penalties in their Quarter Final match Vs Holland after Ron Vlaar put in two nasty tackles.
• Holland manager and new Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal took a risk by putting Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul on for Jasper Cilessen for the Penalty Shootout with Costa Rica but it proved to work as Tim Krul saved two of Costa Rica's penalties.
• Miroslav Klose became the World Cup top scorer of all time during the Demolition that was Germany Vs Brazil.
• Germany saw off Brazil after thrashing them 7-1 at home to Brazil which made them advance to the Final.
• Argentina also saw off Holland but not in as spectacular fashion as Argentina beat Holland 4-2 on Penalties.
• Holland provide another shock to Brazil by beating them 3-0 in the 3rd Place Playoffs.

I dont remember seeing such a mess of a wolrd cup before.

 

Altho the "Fifa+Brazil" supostly favoritism they ended up so bad for a team of is category and history.

So we're not gonna talk about Portugal 0 - 4 Germany?
