The day was hot and murky in the town. That seemed indifferent to Haru, as he was deep in his studies, flipping through the book for his English class at the school library. He sighed, and looked out the window. "That feeling won't leave..." He looked left and right, but still felt something was a bit... Off... Maybe he should go to the Cafe.... He heard coffee calms nerves

 

Watari worked the cafe as he owned it, with pride and care. He prepared some coffee from future recipients, human or non. Like all ghouls, he could smell ghoul from human, and knew how to act accordingly for both. He went upstairs to check on his employees/room owners, beckoning Lyle, a ghoul immigrant from America, to take over.

 

The owner of the gourmet hall looked out the window, and waited in anticipation to hear about a new delicacy.... He could feel that something... New... Would come soon....

After a whole day of working in the cafe,Libi was finally dismissed for the day. Though she did went upstairs to her room,she quickly climbed out her room's window onto the fire escape that rested against the side of the building. Wearing high heels and a dress as always,but this time wearing her pink mask and holding an umbrella,no,parasol, over her head. Walking up the fire escape to the roof of the cafe,where the lights of the street wouldn't be able to reach her,along with the eyes of the unexpected humans. "What a beautiful night."Libi commented as she walked over to the edge of the cafe,and with not much effort,jumped across the gap between the roof of the cafe and the next,and this is how she went on,jumping from roof to roof as the sun ceased for the day and the stars started to come out of their hiding places. "I love the city! I never would've guessed it was this much fun if it wasn't by luck~"Libi sung as she skipped her way around. Before living in the city she didn't had much memories of where she lived before. All she knew was that she had woken up with this body in a much smaller town,and when it was time for her to get food,the town was much to small for her to continue,and so moved to the larger hunting ground. "I hope Ren hasn't been too hard on Haru while we were gone."Libi chuckled under her mask as she glanced down at the shining city. With that in mind she headed straight to the mask shop.

"Oh, moshi moshi, Libi!" Lucifer greeted. "Ren hasn't arrived yet. Lets go check out the masks anyway while they're on their way."

 

Tapping the wall a number of times, the door opened, revealing a tall, slender, man with slick black hair.

 

"Come in, Lucifer. We really DO need to get you a mask. Saw the news, terrible stuff." He noticed Libi, cheerful as ever.  "Is that your girlfriend, hmm? Never knew you were into earthly pleasures."

 

Lucifer groaned as he walked in. "As if. A girl like her would nev-"

 

A gunshot rang in the sewers, hitting the angel in his leg. "Damn, CCG. How did they find us!"

Libi's eyes widened as she pulled her mask down,glancing over at the end of the sewers. Holding a green glow stick to his mouth Noiz cocked his Dragunov SVD,lowering a monocle window down to his right eye from the hat as a target appeared on the screen as it and the gun were connected so Noiz wouldn't have to rely on getting his eye into the scope to see. With a twist from his fingers the target zoomed in until he could see Libi and Lucifer at the entrance. He scoffed. "You really think you can escape my sight?"He muttered as he spat out the green glowstick,having it down within the water filled with whatever it was filled with,turning on night vision and heat vision for his aim. Libi gritted her teeth. "(C...Could he had followed me...?)"Libi thought as she bit her bottom lip. She had made sure to be careful not to be seen. Could something had slipped her mind and senses? She never smelled the human following her! Her thoughts were pushed away by Noiz shooting again,the bullet grazing her through her left shoulder as blood splattered on the ground. "F*ck!"She screamed. "Ladies shouldn't curse!"Noiz yelled as he shot again. Libi dodged the bullet just barely as she glanced at Lucifer. With a shove she pushed Lucifer inside the shop,running inside as she slammed the door behind them,locking it. They could always fight a dove. But not without a plan. "I see you!"Noiz called as the night vision was a rather impressive sight. "You have warmth within your bodies...but you're all nothing but cold-blooded beasts."Noiz said as he shot at the door,barely missing Libi again. "I've never encountered this dove before?!"Libi hissed,annoyed by the fact that this particular dove seemed to have technology on him that other doves in the past didn't,and which only allowed him to be much more dangerous. Libi could hear as Noiz hummed a song as he picked up some cubes from his belt and settling them on the door. They were explosives.

"Come little children...I'll take the away, into a land of enchantment~" Ren started to sing, some younger children wondering away from their parents and over to Ren who has started walking towards the outskirts of the city.

"Come little children, the times come to play~" she continued singing, pulling Haru with her.

"Here in my garden of..." Ren suddenly stopped, her eyes shifting and quickly knocking out the two children she brought with her to an alley.

"Magic." She finished the song, stabbing the children with her Kagune.

"Time to eat." She said simply.

Haru panicked, his eyes turning wide. She... This woman had just... He looked down, and saw the fresh blood from the children on his hands. He was frozen in shock.

Ren sighed, getting a little close to Haru's face then what would be comfortable to a normal person.

"It's just food." She muttered.

(GORE!!)

Ren turned back to the children, biting the males finger off and swallowing it whole, drinking the blood spilling from the wound.

She starting biting into the hand, muscle and bone could be heard breaking and biting, Ren picking a bone from her teeth and tossing it to the side.

He backed away in fear. He was not gonna turn into her, right? Were those people in his head gonna make him do that? No! He wouldn't let then, not ever!

Lucifed grabbed the nearest mask in the shop, a plain white one with a blonde wig. Throwing it on, he pulled up his hood.

 

"Damn, I didn't smell him either! You okay, Libi? And how does this bullet still hurt?" He cursed, looking at his leg. Eyes shifting, a single wing sprouted out. Wait. That's not right. He grunted furiously to no avail. "I can't use my kagune! What kind of Holy Crap is this! A week my ass, it hasn't even been three days!"

 

Lucifer stared at the shop owner, donning an Oni mask. He seemed to be prepared to take the lead. "I'll draw his attention with my scythe kagune. Lucifer, he planted explosives on the door. Brace yourself. And you," the man turned to Libi, "I hope you're stronger than you look. Lucifer has never been seen with another ghoul before. I need you to look for weakspots. If this fails, there's a secret tunnel in the back, behind the curtain."

 

The ticking of the explosive continued. "Sentou... Kaishi..." Lucifer moaned.

Libi got her hand to her grazed shoulder. "I have a feeling those are Q Bullets."Libi hissed to herself as she looked down at her bloody hand. "Lucifer,if you can't fight with your Kagune at its best,I think it's better you retreat. My Koukaku type of Kagune can handle damage."Libi said,muttering in a low voice. Outside Noiz stood just a few feet away from the door,a small high pitched yet boyish voice speaking to him through his headphones. "Calculating. Three heat signatures identified. Explosives ready to go." Noiz smirked as he reached for his belt and pressed  a button on it. With that the explosives went off,turning the wooden door to burnt pieces and ashes. Libi raised her arm,her Kugane covering her arm from shoulder to fingertip as it protected her like a shield from the heat of the explosion. The shop was covered in smoke as Noiz took a step in,not minding of the smoke as his eyes landed on the three figures in front of him. He couldn't help but to smile. "Meraviglioso."He smirked as he switched from his rifle to what seemed to be brass knuckles that protected his hand and fingers. "If you could just be nice enough to die easily."Noiz said as he raised his hands as if he were about to box. "(Is he kidding? Wait,no,I can't think like that! We couldn't even smell him!)"Libi thought as she had her armored arm shift into a blade like weapon as she dashed at Noiz,charging at full force. Noiz rose his hands as tentacles came out of the brass knuckles,wrapping themselves around Noiz's arms and creating a gauntlet all around his arm made out of Kugane,just in time as Libi's blade landed against it,the two clashing as sparks flew. Libi's eyes widened. It was the first time she'd ever seen this type of Quique. In the shape of brass knuckles? "I don't like fighting with ladies,it's a real shame actually."Noiz teased. Libi's eyes sharpened. "Well to bad for you,cause I'm not a lady!"Libi hissed as her kagune spread,covering her chest and torso in a kagune type of armor. Mostly protecting the shoulder blade area,where her Kakuhou was found. "A Koukaku type of ghoul? I read of those before."Noiz chuckled to himself as the two went into an all out brawl. Their weapons slamming against each other over and over. "Koukaku's is a rather heavy type,aren't you afraid you'll become slow to me?"Noiz asked as he did indeed spoke the true. Out of all the classes Koukaku was the heaviest. Though it was the sturdiest of kagunes. It was also had the most inferior speed of them all. It was a hard Kagune to wield. Something Libi had to learn the hard way. Libi gritted her teeth as she rested the two giant blades that formed around her arms on the ground to catch her breath. Noiz took the chance and dashed forward. Libi raised her blades and slashed at Noiz,who swiftly crouched in mere seconds,jumping up as he threw a punch with his kogune covered hand,landing it right against Libi's forehead. This sent Libi flying back,crashing against the back of the store and through a few shelves. Noiz smirked as he jumped up and down,sort of like a boxer. Libi coughed up blood as she looked up,blood pouring down like a waterfall as part of her skull had been bashed in due to the punch.

It was somewhere like 6 a.m as the mask shop opened.A young ghoul was having a hard time putting tons of masks on the shelf.She wasn't a morning person,but this was her job and it wasn't worth losing it.She tried her best to put a last mask on the highest shelf as she sighed relieved,happy that the mayor part of her job was done-only for an uninvited guest to burst throught her shop and crash throught the same shelves that were freshly arranged. She needed some time to process what in the hell was going on.She realized that she didn't have time to waste as another ghoul like her was getting punches.In the anger of her destroyed shop and the hatred that she had for humans(she thought Noiz is a human)she grabbed a mask, shielded her face as she relaesed her Kagune.As an Ukaku RC type,she had a wing like blade from her shoulder which now slashed Noiz,getting him of Libi and charged him against a wall.She wanted this fight to end quickly.

"If we all rush him, we can kill him" Lucifer strategized. It was four vs one, and he didn't plan on dieing today. He made a promise to kill all ghouls.

 

The mask shop owner turned toward the angel, nodding his head. Both were speed types with low endurance, so they had to move in synch.

 

"Get back!" Lucifer shouted at the new ghoul, executing a round house kick that sent Noiz flying back. In a quick blur, the owner and the teen rushed at the dove but their blows were narrowly avoided. "Kuso.... Now!"

 

Lucifer charged straight at Noiz while the older ghoul appeared behind him with his scythe kagune.

 

Blood splattered the walls.

 

Lucifer's eyes widened. Noiz had managed to block the teen' attack, while beheading the owner with his quinque. The room was painted a burst of sanguine as he retreated toward Libi, who was still bleeding out.

 

"Who... is this monster?"

Libi held her head as she glanced over at Noiz,her eyes widening as she saw the older ghoul laying on the floor dead. For a moment she remembered why ghouls were a scarce,yet powerful species of being. Because with humanity being protected by doves like this one. Sometimes ghouls didn't stood chance. Not even against a human. Noiz smirked as one ghoul fell. He quickly dodged the other Ukaku type ghoul as he flipped and was pushed up against the wall,but he didn't fret as he raised his quinque and tentacles came out of it,stabbing into the roof as it lifted him,helping him swing above the attacking ghoul and land right behind her as he went for a punch,but the ghoul seemed to easily block with her ukaku type. Noiz jumped back a bit,being light on his feet. He smiled as he saw his shoes being covered in the blood of the now dead older ghoul,who's head was now detached from its body,blood spreading across the floor as the blood on the walls dripped down ever so slowly. "One heat signature gone,but has been replaced by another one." Noiz grunted as he glared up at the new fighting girl. "Didn't you see what happens to those who try to go up against a dove like me?"Noiz asked as he stepped on the body,resting his foot against it as he smirked. He pointed at himself with his thumb. "If you want to know the name. I am Noiz. First Rank Investigator."Noiz chuckled as he looked down at the body. "Calculating. Kakuhou located." Noiz lifted his quinque and aimed it at the body,tentacles spreading as they stabbed into the dead body,ripping apart the skin as it didn't take much effort since the ghoul wasn't struggling. As the tentacles opened up a passage,they rose up this sack-like organs that seemed to have a beating of its own. Libi felt her body shake. "His Kakuhou..."Libi muttered. Noiz smirked as he took it in his hands,later to speak into his watch. "Track my location and send back up. I've killed a ghoul and extracted its Kakuhou,there's three more specimens that we can harvest from."Noiz smiled as his dammed look send shivers down Libi's spine. Libi gripped Lucifer by the arm. "He called for backup,we have to get out of here before they surround all of the exits!"

Her heart stopped as the blood splattered all arough the place and before her feet was an object she wished she could unsee.Her bosses head.Her blood boiled with anger as she slashed his tenticle,getting the body back."I don't give a damn who you are.Many twats before you said the same thing...And I ended up selling,eating and butchering them all like dog food...You'll see..."she said calmly as she grabbed her dead bosses head and gave a signal to Libi and Lucifer to follow her

Ren ripped mules off of one of the children, shoving it into Haru's mouth. 

"Eat it." she snapped.

"It's really tasty~" she tempt, holding a piece of skin up to Haru and then eating it quickly in front of him. 

Ren loved the taste of kids flesh.

Noiz waved his finger at the girl. "Ah ah ah. But I personally think I'm different."Noiz said as he held the Kakuhou in his hands. The sack alone seemed to have its own heart as it gave off a faint beat. Not as a rustic as a heart's beat,but of a much softer rhythm. "You see. I was a friend with one of your kind. He was the only one I could ever trust. He saved me from my despair and made me his friend. Along with Hanna the three of us had the world ahead of us...Hanna."Noiz whispered as he looked down at the Kakuhou in his hands. "Hanna was beautiful and so kind. She was bright like the sun and wanted to be a vet when she grew up. She was 10 years old when her life was cut short by that friend of ours. She was killed along with her mother and father. The last expression I saw on her face wasn't even a face at all because he had eaten up her face. That was my first impression on ghouls,and I must say,I'm impressed. You guys look like you actually have emotions and give a **** about those around you. You truly should win an Oscar for how well you blend in...but you can't escape us."Noiz said as he got the kakuhou away in safe storage. He started to walk closer to the group. "Humanity was fine without you ghouls having to come along. So I'm going to do a favor to humanity by killing every single one of you f*ckers."Noiz chuckled to himself,giving off a demented aura. Libi stood up as she looked up at Noiz. If she had ever been scared of a human before,a dove,Noiz would be the definition of everything she feared within a dove. Skilled. Powerful. An actual match against a Ghoul. Heartless. It was horrible. "The rules say that I shouldn't give you guys more pain that nescessary but what they don't know won't ever know."Noiz said as he cracked his knuckles. Libi walked up to the next to the girl and looked over to her. "What are you planning...?"

Lucifer scoffed, shoving his hands into his pockets. "You think you're hot stuff, aren't you? Your best friend was Judas, big deal. Wanna know the real hell? It's here." He pointed to his own head with his hand shaped like a gun. "The real hell is in your head."

 

Lucifer took in the situation. Even if he fed off both Libi and the new girl, the swarm of Doves would take them down. Walking casually towards a white theather half mask, he tossed it to Libi. "For our prodigal son."

 

40 seconds before they would be swarmed. At the most. The teen had to stall. Throwing off his mask, Lucifer revealed his one ghoul eye to Noiz. The Dove stayed his place. Curious but unmoved.

 

" See this!? I'm human too! Ghouls killed my parents too! Do you know what I suffered, you idiotic douche! The pain, never ending nightmare. Nothing would satisfy me but to kill all the ghouls."

 

In a flash, Lucifer grabbed a nearby aerosol spray and a lighter. Pulling the trigger, he tossed it at the ceiling between them, lighting the room.

 

"Until then.... You'll fear my judgement. I am Lucifer. And I declare these ghouls.... no.... my friend.... innocent. You will see me coming at the right hand of God."

 

Finally sprouting his second wing, Lucifer grabbed both girls and rushed toward the hidden exit as the ceiling collapsed.

"CAUTION,CAUTION,INCOMING FIRE!" Noiz glared at Lucifer as he roared,about to rush at him. How dare a ghoul speak in the same terms,that's what was in his mind. But the thought was pushed out of the way as the intense fire covered the store. He saw Lucifer fly off with the other two ghouls. He turned to chase them. "HOLD IT-!" Noiz yelled,but the roof collapsed on him. "Noiz!" Noiz raised his arms over his head,getting the quinque to form a shield around his arms,but it was too much as he was pushed down to the ground and it collapsed all around him. The heat of the fire was intense. He could feel the burning wood pressing against him as his skin turned red and blue,slowly burning by the intensity alone. He was trapped,even with his quinque it was too heavy for him to move. There was fire everywhere. He was trapped. If he didn't burnt alive the smoke alone would kill him. "Aw ****!!!"Noiz screamed as he pushed the wood,feeling blood flow down his forehead as he looked down at his trapped legs. He pushed the wood mixed with cement and stone with all of his might. "Calling for back up." Noiz ignored the AI as he focused,punching the wood and cement out of his way as he dragged himself out of the burning hell and back out into the sewers,where the smoke quickly took over the area. He coughed and gasped for air,but only blood came out. "Damn...kid...!!!"Noiz hissed,burnt marks on his skin as he coughed. He thought about what the child said. It seemed the child was a half-ghoul. Most likely. His parents killed by ghouls. What a shame but...Noiz smiled wildly. "So...he's a taboo child...that only turns me on!!!"Noiz laughed before coughing up a bit of more blood. I think he broke a bone or two. "Agent 358 on the ground,Noiz. We need the fire department down into the sewers and an ambulance." About bloody time. Noiz looked up as he saw the face of a familiar person,to which he only growled. "Forget about me...get the ghouls."Noiz hissed as he collapsed in the agent's arms. Lucifer's face would remain in Noiz's memory. He would make sure of it. Note it down,right next to Kou's face along with the other ghouls. Their voices,their body shape,their kagune. He wouldn't go out from this world...not without killing all of the ghouls he could.

 

From the top of the exit of the sewers,Kou watched with binoculars. He watched as Noiz was taken into an ambulance,speaking to the other members even though they insisted the idiot to stay quiet,that he had done what he could. Kou purred to himself as he lowered the binoculars,wagging his kagune much like the tail it was. "Noiz,look at you. How much you've grown. So strong,so handsome,so skilled."Kou smiled as he then frowned sadly. "Though you have become a great warrior for humanity...I fear I am the one who made you this way,wasn't I?"Kou sighed as he stood up and got his hands in his pockets. "Baka. I owe you for what I've put you through. But don't get yourself killed. If I get caught helping you or saving your life,I'll be hunted down by both worlds." With that Kou walked off.

 

Libi coughed as she held onto Lucifer and the mask. That was the most terrifying experience that she's had with a dove since the time her friends were murdered in front of her,being confused for a victim instead of the hunter. The fact that that one dove was able to survive a room full of four ghouls,and end up killing one of them,was scary to think of,because that dove was their enemy. His job is to hunt them down and kill them off. If Noiz survived that. Libi would officially freak the hell out. Then she thought about Lucifer's past. "(His parents were killed off by ghouls...?)"Libi thought. Libi herself didn't had a pinpoint existence. She just happened to exists,from wherever ghouls come from when it's not from birth,and was given a body to be able to live in this world. She never had parents,nor siblings. But with enough experience in this world,she could understand how it would feel,even if it wasn't on the same level. "...sorry,Lucifer."Libi muttered. Maybe she was apologizing for the ghoul entity itself? Or because of the fact that she was a ghoul and ghouls kill people...and by luck's charm she herself has taken away daughters,husbands,sons,fathers,mothers,and so on...Sorry for being a ghoul maybe?

Lucifer scoffed, shoving his hands into his pockets. "You think you're hot stuff, aren't you? Your best friend was Judas, big deal. Wanna know the real hell? It's here." He pointed to his own head with his hand shaped like a gun. "The real hell is in your head."Lucifer took in the situation. Even if he fed off both Libi and the new girl, the swarm of Doves would take them down. Walking casually towards a white theather half mask, he tossed it to Libi. "For our prodigal son."40 seconds before they would be swarmed. At the most. The teen had to stall. Throwing off his mask, Lucifer revealed his one ghoul eye to Noiz. The Dove stayed his place. Curious but unmoved. " See this!? I'm human too! Ghouls killed my parents too! Do you know what I suffered, you idiotic douche! The pain, never ending nightmare. Nothing would satisfy me but to kill all the ghouls."In a flash, Lucifer grabbed a nearby aerosol spray and a lighter. Pulling the trigger, he tossed it at the ceiling between them, lighting the room."Until then.... You'll fear my judgement. I am Lucifer. And I declare these ghouls.... no.... my friend.... innocent. You will see me coming at the right hand of God."Finally sprouting his second wing, Lucifer grabbed both girls and rushed toward the hidden exit as the ceiling collapsed.

She was getting angrier and angrier until the teen said a suprising thing.He lost both his parents too like her!But they were killed by ghouls,while hers were murdered by the CCG.Things went downhill.The shop collapsed,her boss is dead and the place from where they could both get existence out is buried.At least they weren't stalked by the hypocrite anymore.But she knew she had to finish him off if he was still alive."We need to get somewhere safe"she said with a calm serious tone

The trio landed roughly in a river underneath a bridge. Lucifer got up, turning toward Libi. "It.... It'll never be okay! Do you realize your the reason I'm like this? Why I'm a nihilist? Why I'm making a mockery if my religion? Why I...." He stopped himself, truly noticing her for the first time. Her pink hair, her innocent complexion. The blood running down her forehead to her sorrowful expression. All this time he thought of her as a background character. Now he noticed she was kind of cute.

 

He gave out a big sigh. "Eh... Never mind. We need to train and a place to stay. My foster parent is rich, so I can book us a dojo. He's my credit card." He said, casually tossing platinum cards from his pocket to both girls. Lucifer Kanashii, it read.

 

The fallen angel walked over to the newly met ghoul and placed a hand on her shoulder. "He was a cool ghoul. We'll take vengeance. It's my fault, I was shopping for a mask for Har-"

 

Realization struck him. "Quick, call Ren! She might be on her way there!"

Haru ate it. He refused to like it, fighting every bite, but his body begged to differ, and his eye shifted. A tear fell down his cheek. His body was a ghoul....

Libi stared down at the credit card before thinking. "(...this is more money than I'll ever make in my lifetime.)"She assured herself. Her thoughts were brought back by the mention of Ren and Haru. Ren. Haru. THE SHOP. She freaked out as she quickly took out her cellphone and started to dial up Ren's number. She didn't remembered when she got it,she just knew she had saved it into her contacts at one point in the night when they had to clean up the bloody ambulance. The moment the ringtone dial finished Libi went freaking out. "Haru,Ren you can't go to the shop things turned out for the worst! This emo kid with a funny looking hat came in and it turns out he's a CCG agent and he has this quinque in the shape of brass knuckles and I was like 'WELL I'VE NEVER SEEN A QUINQUE LIKE THAT BEFORE'. Then he ended up shooting at us and we had to fight one thing led to another long story short the shop is up in flames and collapsed,the owner is dead,there's CCG agents everywhere,I'm pretty sure the CCG agent is going to end up hunting us down specifically,but on the bright side,we got a mask for Haru!"Libi said as she explained all of that in a single breath without missing a beat. I'm almost impressed. "If you can meet us by the river it'd be fine. Unless you want to go to a more specific meeting place."Libi chirped as she handed the credit card back to Lucifer. "You guys seem like you've seen hell,yo." Libi looked around and saw Kou hanging from a tree branch with his kagune tail. "I'm kind of impressed you got out of there alive. To bring so much attention of the CCG you guys must've made quite the show."Kou said with a smile. "W-Who are you?!" "A fellow ghoul. No need to be scared. Just happened to be around when I saw the CCG go crazy."Kou said as he skillfully jumped off and landed in front of the group gracefully. "I actually want to say sorry you had to face Noiz like that. I never expected that kid to turn out to be that good of a fighter."

"H-hey, moshi moshi! You must be Judas!" Lucifer cheekily greeted. "And Libi, keep the credit card. It's good for my credit." That wasn't exactly true, but he had no need for money and as far as Mr. Kanashii knew, "Lulu" was an average teen.

 

"You must be the reason that guy has issues. So," Lucifer turned toward the now-group of 4. "Lets go to my apartment. The coffee shop probably is on watch and a group like ours just screams 'ghouls', " The teen moaned as he dusted his hoodie. "We need to get this blood off of us. I have three showers. Don't even ask."
