Hey guys, now that I have a PS4 I'm thinking about playing Dragon Age: Inquisition but before I do I have a question.

See, I've never played Dragon Age before so i don't know how connected it is to previous titles.

Is it like the Tales series where each game is in a totally separate universe with only minor nods to other entrees, is it like The Elder Scrolls where it takes place in the same universe hundreds of years apart so the other games are part of the lore but don't directly affect the story or is it like Kingdom Hearts where each game is heavily tied together?

Thanks for your help.

Inquisition is it's own story and lore.

Thanks, I'll get it after I'm done with 2.5, unless i don't beat BbSFM before DragonBall Xenoverse comes out, then I'm going to be booked for a couple moths because FF Type-0 is releasing the moth after DBXV

It's not heavily tied together but they are sequels to one another. You play with a different protagonist each time though. Some characters are different but you see some of the same throughout the series. I believe the entire series is across 10-15 years or something like that.

Sure it is it's own story, but the lore of the universe is the same.

That's okay, as long as I don't have to play the others to understand what's going on. I started TSE with Skyrim after all.

It's more or less it's own story within the lore that is present in past games. While you don't have to play the others to enjoy it, I highly recommend you play Dragon Age Origins either after or before Inquisition. Origins was quite simply amazing.

Can vouch for playing Origins, it was cool. Pick up the ultimate edition if you can.
