The video explains that players can fight in both in the sky and on the ground with a party of three characters. A large amount of dungeons exist in the world. The video also introduces the characters Kirito, Asuna, Leafa, Silica, Lisbeth, Sinon, and Philia.

Bandai Namco Games will release its Sword Art Online: Lost Song PlayStation 3 and PS Vita game in Japan on March 26. The PS3 version will cost 7,120 yen (about US$66) and the PS Vita version will cost 6,170 yen (US$57). A limited edition that includes box art by abec, an original soundtrackCD, a Blu-ray Disc with special content, a mini-clear poster, and a special booklet will cost 9,980 yen (US$92). The company is also localizing the game in English and Chinese for Asian markets.

Bandai Namco first announced the game's development at the 2014 Tokyo Game Show stage event on September 19. Reki Kawahara's Sword Art Online light novel series already inspired theSword Art Online -Infinity Moment- and Sword Art Online -Hollow Fragment- games for the PlayStation Vita system. The light novels also inspired two television anime series.
