I haven't seen any threads made to discuss Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V, the most recent Yu-Gi-Oh! series, so I thought I'd go on ahead and do it myself.

 

To be completely honest with you people, I am thoroughly enjoying this series so far, and I only see better things to come in the future. Yuya Sakaki is probably one of the better protagonists of the franchise (better than how Yuma started out, that's for sure. ). And I also love how they have just about every type of Summoning Method possible (Ritual, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz and Pendulum) which provides a little continuity and allusion to previous series. All in all, the series has heaps of potential.

 

And before you go and say "Oh, Arc-V is crap. They're milking out the series way too much," just stop right there and give it a chance. If you have seen a little and you still don't like it? Okay then. Fair enough. Although I think this might be the last Yu-Gi-Oh! series we'll see, just because it gives that feeling of bringing everything together from the previous installments. And yes I'll admit, it does look a little "kiddish" but believe me, it's actually impressive. Even the plot is a little confusing.

In short, a cluster*beep* of an episode.

• At the end there I was instantly reminded of Marik/Yami Marik vs Atem
• THE WHOLE DUEL WAS SET UP SO THE GRAVE WOULD BE FILLED WITH EXTRA DECK MONSTERS FOR RAY TO USE. SOUND FAMILIAR, 5D's FANS?? (Yusei vs Z-One)
• There was a dark entity that left Z-Arc, and according to Ray he's been sealed for good. Does this mean maybe the 4 Yu boys will duel the "final" villain?There're still 8 episodes left, no way it's over yet.
• AND WHERE ARE THE BRACELET GIRLS? WHO WAS THAT BABY IN CRADLE IN THE PREVIEW?
• As a note, I knew what the summary was for 141 so I kinda saw this coming. But now we can be certain it IS reality. I'm so confused right now...

Neo New Super Ultra Hyper Late 140 review:

 

 

 

Z-Arc's defeat is amazing...although my main issues with this episode are just with the previous episodes.

Firstly, Reiji's part. Overall enjoyable, and the upgrades are cool, but I wish we would have got 3 new boss monsters instead. But oh well. 

Rayra's part was also great, considering that Reira developed so much, it was pretty cool.

The best part is that we didn't get a Yuya vs Zarc! I honestly expected them to make it so Ray separates Yuya from Zarc with some BS explanation and then we get Yuya vs Zarc. And Yuya did technically defeat him by taking back control of his body.

 

The main issue with everyone vs Zarc is the duel writing. Reiji, Rayra and even Crow(that shilling powers) are the only ones who actually damaged Zarc's LP. Sure, the 4 cards' effect make it feel like team effort, but you could just bring any idiot who knows how to summon from the extra deck and he would suffice(replace Edo and Sora with random Academia duelists, Jack and Gong with security and Shun and random resistance survivors. The result would be the same). It would be much better if it was like with Godwin-either he was using an OP life recovering effect that doesn't involved canceling damage at the start and gets an insane amount of LP that just keeps getting reduced, or he starts with an insane LP by some rules, so the other characters can still be useful.

The second issue, is how boring Zarc is. He isn't intimidating like Z-One, Don Thousand, or heck, even Darkness(though I guess Fujiwara is honestly more fitting) who got cool card effects, although broken, but just got a counter to everything aside from Reiji and Ray's 4 cards. That doesn't make him impressive at all-it is just lame writing. While the other big bads' had broken deck, they didn't have a Mary Sue writing. They didn't counter everything their opponents did, but instead they just used the situation to their advantage(Z-One summoning his ace monster, for example)
