The sequel to Shadowrun Returns and Shadowrun: Dragonfall, some of my favourite videogames from the past few years, is getting funded via Kickstarter. Shadowrun is a series of tactical turn-based strategy games, similar to X-Com Enemy Unknown and the Fire Emblem series, which is set in a future Earth where different races of Humans (Elfs, Dwarfs, Trolls, etc) mysteriously appear. Previous stories have tackled ethical choices involving artificial intelligence, cloning, biotechnology, and racism.
The project has nearly reached $600,000 of it's initial $100,000 goal. The cost of the game is several times more than this, but due to the success of their previous two games they didn't need full funding via Kickstarter.
