The Dragon Quest team is very attentive of the international demand

Posted

Yosuke Matsuda, the President of Square Enix has revealed the Dragon Quest team (which is inside division 6 alongside the Bravely team) is very attentive of the international demand of the series. He went on to say they want the franchise to be successful in the west and they have ideas to make this happen.

The Dragon Quest franchise has been very quiet outside of Japan during the 3DS generation with the franchise's 5th title on the 3DS to launch in Japan next month. But they have expressed interest in localizing one of the 3DS spin-offs. In addition, Theatrhythm Dragon Quest which releases next month in Japan is being produced in division 4 has a good chance to be localized. Hopefully we also get Dragon Quest Heroes which releases tomorrow in Japan on PS4 & PS3.

It's a massive game, it would take a lot to translate.
