I'm probably going to give up on doing videos...

Posted

Been making videos since late 2006 and had my own channel since 2007. The first 4-5 years were amazing, but then everything started to fall apart, which is hard to understand considering that I got so much better at it.

So far I've cancelled five important projects, three of them being things that I really wanted to finish due to lack of voice actors and other problems. Seems that people hate me so much that they decide to give up in the way.

And it's such backstab seeing the videos that nowdays I work so hard and can spend up to 20 hours working on get no attention, while other videos, that are VERY random and poorly edited get way more views than I do. The number of subscribers doesn't really matter when they don't care about your channel. The number of dislikes and hate is growing larger by each day too. I also have no feedback or help at all in real life. Everyone despises my videos and my ideas.

I began to work on Source Film Maker and try it out, but I can't handle it. Some tutorials are outdated. I also tried to ask people who know a few things about SFM, but they seem to enjoy ignoring me as well.

Even making videos related to something popular doesn't work.

While making a video, I really feel good and all... but I feel way worse when it's done.

And please, don't come up with the pity messages. I know I've been very depressing, especially with my Posts on this forum, but that's how things have  been working out for me.

If you love making videos then keep doing it. If you do videos just for the attention you may or may not get then i think you are doing videos for the wrong reason. Just my opinion.

I'm surprised that you actually have the balls to consider actually putting real 'effort' into your videos, since the ones that everyone seems to enjoy are half assed and really bad.

And about SFM, how is it? I have the program but can't run it on my craptop. I intend to screw around with it once I finish my computer build...

I really put effort on my videos. I ignore everything and get pissy with ease when editing; I require concentration and peace. My longest project has taken me up to 7 months.

SFM acts like a game; it has FPS and it may suffer lag. Pretty much Team Fortress 2's Engine. It's hard to control and to manipulate.

To be honest, Sony Vegas Pro 8 was like that I can use it very well now.

I love making them. I really do... but how would you feel if everyone you knew kept pressing you into stop and hate it on ya?

I would give a huge middle finger to those people and keep doing what i love. But that's just me.
