I hate to say it, but Eddie Murphy isn't exactly super talented. His best roles are when he's playing silly cartoon characters.

 

Then again, maybe its more HM's fault than it is Murphy's.

Which is why he was perfect. It was mean to be a comedy, not a suspense/horror

I thought it was pretty decent.Still, I can't deny the appeal in Del Toro doing a reboot of this.
