"I'm escaping this world

one step at a time

but all I need first

is a partner in crime" - J.H.

Laughter and posh lectures one with another. Gentlemen in suits and ladies in dresses. The environment felt elegant and suffocating in this venue, at least for the seven year old Giotto. He looked adorable in his little suit, at least that’s what everyone said as his father showed him off. His father was the chief of security of the city, wealthy, handsome, widower, everything and anything Giotto could care less of. His most popular trait was his hatred and fear against mutants, beings with supernatural abilities that could surpass animal and machine. The city both feared them and revered them, it was a dividing side. But being a small minority they would only stand out every so often in the news. What his father would never know was that his own son was a mutant with developing powers. Another rub to the head, causing his hair to get messed up caused Giotto to groan and sneak away, away from the strong smelling perfumes and out a door that led to the outside for fresh air, the back parking lot barely lit up by a street lamp and decorated with a few garbage cans. “Stupid party, stupid stuff, stupid dad.” Giotto muttered under his breath as he got his hands in his pockets and kicked around a rock. He hated social events like this. Not only was he ignored, he was used as an item to show off. “Stupid!” He kicked the rock again.

Gabby huffed softly and burried her snout in her paws. As soon as she saw Giotto and Jesse however, she immediately turned around and went to go greet the new guests with her tail wagging. When she noticed Mimi she barked protectively and nuzzled her snout into the carriage to lick her.

Kianni was outside immediately and yawned softly. His hair was messy and he looked as if he just woke up from a nap. Upon seeing Mimi however, he squealed just as the twins did. He kneeled down and waved his hand. "Uuuuu hello there little baby~" Sure she was cute, but not as adorable as his little Villiani. "Gianni is missing out~! He's working at the bakery today but Mama stood home. She's with Mili in his room."

Jovanni poked his head in the doorway right after, his glasses glinting in the sunlight. He looked to be very frustrated and aggravated, but when he saw Mimi all of that went away. He slowly stepped out and reached out to pat her head after arriving to where they stood. "Aww..."

Mimi wasn't used to all the attention. She looked around at everyone, however she was immediately distracted by the pitbull. She happily hugged the dog's head and giggled as she started to lick her. "Pupy!" She cheered. "Pupy!"

Jesse smiled at the sight. Upon hearing Giotto's comment however, that gave him a pretty stupid idea. He looked at the twins, then back at Giotto. "They do go together well..." In his mind, Jesse was thinking; 'Maybe I'll get those twins to be all over me...~'

Giotto watched amused as Mimi quickly became the center of attention. If this was how it went when she was small, Giotto could only worry of how much attention she would bring as she got older. A few flashes of him and Jesse threatening boyfriends came to mind, which made him chuckle. He smiled at Jesse and looked back down. "Pretty cute huh? Poor Jesse was born with no cuteness. All of the cuteness was directly blessed upon Mimi." Giotto teased. "Look at how cute she is guys! Aw I haven't seen a baby this cute since Miliani was born." Villiani squealed as he made sure to get enough space to see between all of his brothers. "She even has cute little pig tails." Lucianni said. "Did you boys did her hairdo?" Dianni asked. "Jesse did." Giotto quickly said. A lie, but since Jesse had decided not to kill his dad, the least he could do. "He makes sure that Mimi has an appropriate hairstyle every day. Isn't that right, Mimi?" Giotto said with a smile. "Awww Jesse you're a great big brother. If only Gianni had been that thoughtful when we were babies huh?" Dianni asked. "Having him learn to do good hair wouldn't of hurt, for sure." Lucianni chuckled. "Miliani is home, yes? That means he's making a good recovery?" Giotto asked. "Yes. The pain is slowly going away. He's very determined to get better." Dianni explained. "I'm glad he's doing alright." Giotto smiled. He looked around. "You haven't noticed anything suspicious?" He asked. "Nope." Dianni said. "Nothing." Lucianni added. "Haven't seen anything." Villiani added. "That's good." Giotto said with a soft sigh. So the skulls haven't been around to threaten them. That's great relief.

Jesse crossed his arms. Although Giotto was teasing with the cute part, Jesse had to agree. Jesse didn't want to be cute. He wanted to be badass. Still, with how adorable Mimi was, what Giotto said wasn't that far fetched as a theory. What Jesse wasn't expecting next however was the testimony saying that he was the one who did the pigtails. At first he was going to deny it not only because it was a lie as he sucked at doing hair (he never does his own; be just leaves the house as it was when he woke up), but be also thought the idea of him knowing how to do hair would hurt his manliness. Upon seeing that the twins were thrilled by the lie however, Jesse immediately agreed.

"Oh yeah." Jesse said with a grin as he ruffled Mimi's hair. "She loves it when I do her hair."

Kianni squealed as he watched Mimi play with Gabby. "She is ten times cuter than Miliani was as a baby!"

Jovanni crossed his arms with yet another huff. "Miliani is doing good with his recovery... But mother isn't. She gets very emotional. Actually just a few minutes ago she was hysterically crying after changing Miliani's bandages. It was the first time she was seeing him with... Y'know. A missing eye. Gianni's the only one who can calm her down and the twins sometimes too sometimes. She hasn't come out of his room yet so..."

Meanwhile Mimi continued to play with Gabby, huffing her and petting her as Gabby continued to nuzzle and lick.

Giotto frowned. "(It's to be expected...to have your son lose an eye...for no reason other than hatred and greed...)" Giotto looked away a bit. "...this...won't go unpunished." Giotto muttered. Villiani glanced up. "What you mean?" He asked. "Just...we're going to make sure the Skulls disappear. They won't hurt anyone ever again. They will pay for what they did to Miliani." Giotto said with a soft smile. "To have them disappear..." Villiani muttered. The twins scowled. "If we could kick their ass..." Dianni muttered. "The most we can do is just...stick together. We won't get involved. If any one of us gets hurt again...firetruck, I don't even think mom would be able to handle it." Lucianni said. "We're already moving to do something about it." Giotto said as he smiled at Mimi. "If we don't stop them now, they'll become a parasite, therefor harder to get rid off." Giotto hummed. He shook his head. "Ah, sorry. But forget about them. Do focus on Milliani. The rest will be resolved on its own." Giotto said smiling ever so confidently. "To have them be gone would be nice." Villiani admitted, smiling down at Mimi. "Maybe she wants soup." "She doesn't want soup!" The twins quickly intervened before another victim fell to his soup. "Hehe. We're full. We were on our way to see a friend so we stopped by." Giotto glanced up. "(Maybe right now it isn't the best time...)"

Mimi tilted his head at the twins' reaction to the soup offer. Honestly she didn't understand what was being said anyway.

"So....up?" She asked.

Jesse stood right by Giotto as he told the siblings not to worry. Jesse agreed. He knew that as long as himself and Giotto were around, those Skulls will easily be wiped off the face of the earth. No one will have to worry anymore and live in fear for the most part. Jesse swore that he would squash the Skulls like a bug. Jesse looked down at Villiani. "He's right kid." Jesse said with a smile. "Don't worry about it capiche? We got it." Villiani wanted to give soup to Mimi, but didn't understand why everyone freaked out.

"Well, if you're not gonna give Mimi some, I'll take some." Jesse said with a grin. "Only if you want."

Kianni slowly shook his head. He still couldn't believe someone loved Villiani's soup. Villiani was his favorite person in the whole wide world, and he could cuddle the younger brother all day. But no matter what he would never eat the soup.

"What are you..." Kianni muttered.

Meanwhile Jovanni looked to the stairs. There was some worry in his expression but he didn't comment on it.

"You could come in and see if Miliani is awake or if my mother is awake."

Villiani's curl seemed to curl up into the shape of a heart as he looked up at Jesse and saying how he wouldn't mind his soup. "Ah...~" Villiani hummed. Giotto looked up the stairs. "Yes. Please allow us to see Milliani and his mother if possible. I want to see how his recovery is doing." Giotto said with a smile as he turned to Jesse. "Come along or stay here. I'll be quick." Giotto said, hurrying up the stairs. Regardless Mimi was in great hands. A minute or two away wouldn't do any harm. He walked up to greet Giovanni and gave a small bow. "Please escort me to Mililani, if possible. I don't want to end up waking him and his mother up either if they are resting." Giotto chimed rather formally. He wondered if Milliani would be able to deal with a missing eye. Regardless he would have to, sooner or later. But he also wondered if any of his siblings also had any powers as well. "(Dad spoke about something but...)" Giotto shook his head, pushing away the thought.

(Giovanni isn't there LOL)

"I'll take some soup small fry." Jesse said with a smile as he looked down at Villiani and ruffled his hair. Suddenly, Kianni hissed and roughly pushed Jesse's hand away. He didn't like the idea of some punk taking his little brother's love away.

"No one. Pets my little fratello's hair. Only me! And the other siblings too. And my madre and padre. Other than that no!" With that, he wrapped his arms around Villiani protectively and huffed.

Jesse raised an eyebrow with half lidded eyes. He was clearly unamused. He decided to just go along with Giotto. Jesse had to admit; he was curious to see how Miliani was doing.

Jovanni rolled his eyes at Kianni's behavior. Distasteful. "You're an idiot." He muttered. "They saved your youngest brother and you won't show respect." With that, he rushed into the house. He met up with Giotto and now Jesse.

"Father isn't here." Jovanni said while adjusting his glasses. "He's with Gianni running the shop. Mother should be in the room with Miliani. I'll take you there."

After Jovanni led them to the room, Jovanni knocked gently on the door as slowly opened it. Miliani was fast asleep, curled up on a bed. Right next to it however, Erma was asleep on the floor leaning against the bed. Her arms were tightly wrapped around Miliani's good arm. There were tear stains all over her face from what easily appeared to be a good few hours of crying. Jovanni shook his head.

"She fell asleep on the floor crying again." He muttered. "Usually we just leave her like this... The only person who can calm her down is father. When we try to wake her up or move her she just starts crying again.

Jesse leaned on the doorframe. He really wasn't expecting such a sight. "Damn." In the back of his mind however, he couldn't help but wonder if his own mother would have acted such a way if he had gotten hurt.

Villiani smacked his brother Kianni around. He was scaring and being mean to the guest! "Kianni why are you so mean stop it!" Villiani hissed, feeling his cheeks burn up in embarrassment. Giotto could only stare as he was inside the room. He glanced down at the mother, and then at Milliani. They were both asleep, but the despair that had been happening in the room moments ago was still eminent. The air so thick and heavy it could be cut with a knife. "I...Understood." Giotto whispered. The last thing he wanted was to have Milliani's mother cry again. It seemed better to just let them both rest. That was all Giotto could see that they could do. "Milliani looks to be doing better since the last we saw him." Giotto dully noted, taking a step back as he looked over to Jovanni. "I don't wish to wake up your mother or brother. But to see him...thank you..." Giotto felt odd. It felt...uncomfortable. The sight of a mother crying wasn't unusual yet...it pained him. "(This is what I want to avoid...this is what I will do my best to avoid...I promise...I promise...)" Giotto thought, unconsciously looking over to Jovanni with an apologetic look. Then quickly looked away. "I...I'll be back outside." Giotto said as he gave a small bow and hurried out of the house to the stairs, quickly gripping to the handrail tightly as he hid his face. Guilt, Sadness, many negative emotions. It wasn't his fault yet...the feelings were just overflowing.

Kianni somewhat squealed and gently grabbed Villiani's wrist. Why was his adorable little brother being so mean to him?

"B-But fratello!" He said as he tried to stop Villiani from slapping him by wrapping his arms around him in a tight hug around the waist. "I love you soooooo much and you're the most adorable little fratello in the whole wide world I can't let some tepistello (punk) come in here and steal you away!"

Meanwhile, Jovanni just looked on in silence. He expected such guilt and sadness from Giotto. Jovanni personally hated any sort of pity and whatnot from others, however Giotto was different. Even if he wasn't, Jovanni honestly didn't have the energy to be angry anymore. The entire situation with Miliani and the family burnt him out like a match. He just couldn't take it anymore honestly. He didn't bother saying anything and only allowed Giotto to leave.

Jesse however was different in his reaction. Right now he didn't feel much; there was so much going on he just felt blank and almost numb even from not processing everything that was happening. However the more be stated at Miliani's mother, the more he began to feel the guilt and the sadness. Most of all he started to feel the desire to avenge this poor family. As soon as Giotto left Jesse followed right behind. When they got outside Jesse placed his hand on Giotto's shoulder firmly.

"...Hey." Jesse muttered. "We'll get them alright? We'll get them all."

Villiani growled at his brother Kianni. "You're so clingy! What will happen when I grow up?! You can't possibly keep me around forever!" Villiani responded. Giotto glanced up at Jesse. "We will. But will we be able to get them soon enough?" Giotto asked. He sighed, looking down at Mimi and the siblings. "Lets get going. We have a day ahead." Giotto said as he stepped down the stairs, walking ever so gently to Mimi, past the arguing brothers. "Thank you for having us. It has been good to see you guys again. We better get going though, don't want to interrupt you anymore than we already have." Giotto said with a small bow, looking down at Mimi with a smile. Villiani looked up. "You aren't a bother at all! If anything you guys are the most exciting person that ever comes around here." Villiani said, looking up at his brother. "I'm sorry if it was Kianni that scared you two away." "Nah. Kianni isn't even that scary." Giotto said. "Well you three take care of yourselves now." Dianni said. "Remember to return home before sunset!" Lucianni added. "We will." Giotto said, turning as he began to pet Gabby. "See you around, Gabby." Giotto said, grabbing the baby stroller and beginning to make his way with Jesse. "Have a nice day, everyone!" Giotto said as he waved. He looked down at Mimi. "You're going to meet someone named Beauty, that is if we find her." Giotto chuckled. The doubt of if they would be able to stop the skulls in time before there was another attack on someone innocent kept poking on Giotto's mind. If they weren't fast enough, someone could die. If they were too quick, their plan could collapse like a house of cards.

Kianni stepped back at Villiani's words, as if a knife just cut through his heart. He placed his hand to his chest as his skin turn ten shades whiter. Never have he heard his adorable priceless little brother say such words.

"B-But Vivi..." Kianni said, clutching his chest tightly. "Why..."

Meanwhile Jovanni waited at the stairs and rolled his eyes. He was sick of Kianni's stupidity.

"Foolish." He muttered. Upon seeing Giotto and Jesse leave with Mimi, Jovanni waved his hand.

"Goodbye!"

Jesse bid goodbye with the siblings, and even went as far as to blow a kiss to the twins. Gianni wasn't there, so Jesse thought it was a good opportunity to hit on them. Nothing sounded better than laying in bed with two beautiful identical twins. Honestly, Jesse found it pretty hot. And they were his age too although he did feel guilty for having such thoughts about the twins. Is Gianni knew he would probably kick Jesse's ass. As Jesse walked along with Giotto, Jesse reached down to pat Mimi's head. "Beauty's gonna love her." He said. "If you want, I could go down to Eden and ask around. You can wait outside with the bouncer Angus. He's the guy who always greets us at the entrance. I'm sure he would love to see Mimi and protect you and her while you guys wait."

Mimi meanwhile cheered at Giotto's words. It was unknown if she was cheering because she understood his words, or if she was just happy that Giotto was talking to her. She swung her feet back and fourth and began to giggle.

"Beety!" She cheered. "Beety!"

The twins waved at Jesse, giggling to themselves. Villianni also waved, and then turned to his brother Kianni. "I'm not a baby!" Villiani insisted. Sure he was the smallest of the two, but he still felt that he could stand up on his own ground if he needed to. Giotto rolled his eyes at Jesse. "You know you can't date both of them. Only one. Because they won't let you date both. That wouldn't be very fair...but if we both date them we could totally go on a double date!" Giotto suggested with a small smirk. He was too young to date, though. At least, that's what he thought. Besides, with his whole secret life by sneaking out, a relationship wouldn't be the best thing to have currently. "Sounds like a good idea. Let's get going." Giotto said with a chuckle. The two walked all the way over to where the special place known as Eden, and greeted the bouncer. "Good afternoon." Giotto said waving. "We're here looking for Beauty. Only Jesse's going to go in this time, though. I'll wait here with you and Mimi." Giotto said as he introduced Mimi to the guard. "Mimi, this is Angus. Angus, this is Jesse's little sister, Mimi. Isn't she cute?" Giotto asked with a small squeal. Mimi, regardless who it was, was sure to get at the very least a smile out of everyone who met her. She just had that kind of charm about her. He was sure that it was a charm that would follow her for life.

Jesse followed along with his hands on his hips.

"I know that..." He said with a pout. "What kinda weirdo would want to get laid by two twins?" Jesse was that weirdo. Yeah, it was a bad thing but to be honest he didn't care anymore. He still kept his favorite Playboy Magazine stash under the futon. Sadly Johnny's probably gonna make him get rid of it. The only reason why Johnny let him keep it in the first place was because Johnny himself liked to glance at it from time to time. Luckily Jesse wasn't THAT big of a douchebag to actually date two twins.

"Alright hotshot." Jesse said with a grin. "Hm... Who should I take~? I'll have to think about that." Once they got to the club, Jesse bid Angus a hello and slipped right inside.

Angus looked down at the little girl, gripping his Bouncer's Paw rightly in hand. Honestly the man didn't even need the Paw; he was basically seven feet and buff like he was on steroids or something. To top it all off he had the Arnold Schwartzeneggar (how do you spell that wtf) voice down too.

"Oh hello there little girl." His heart almost melted and he basically squealed at the sight. Never had he seen such an adorable girl before. "Little girl is so cute..." He even kneeled down to get a closer look.

Mimi looked up at Angus then at Giotto. She never saw such a huge man before and it got her confused.

"Ang...?" Mimi asked. "Ang...?"

Angus smiled. "Angus little girl, Angus."

  • Author

Giotto smiled. "Angus, Mimi. A-N-G-U-S." Giotto cooed. Once again Mimi's charm had no competition, regardless who the person was. She was like a sun that beamed with radiant positive energy and happiness. Truly a little blessing. Walking own the street was the young man with orange hair and grey eyes, wearing the same hoodie he did as always. He scowled when he saw the bouncer. He hated the guy. He was way too mean to him. But luckily, he didn't have to see him. The young man walked past the corner, his entire body suddenly disappearing into thin air. The fact being that his power was to be invisible, camouflage himself with his surroundings, leaving him to walk literately, unseen by anyone he didn't want him to see. He quietly walked past the trio, not really paying attention to the child. He had more important things to do. He walked into the club, keeping low as he walked around within the shadows, peeking here and there as he avoided people, and was tempted to trip a few. "(Nothing out of the ordinary.)" He thought, kind of disappointed.

Mimi pouted and crossed her arms. She hated having to learn how to pronounce names, and honestly she just wanted to say whatever she want.

"Nu." She protested. "It Ang."

Angus smiled and reached out to pat her head.

"Ja." He said. "I am Ang to little girl."

Meanwhile Jesse was inside the building talking to the bartender while having a drink. It was illegal for anyone under 21, especially under 18 to drink alcohol. But the way the bartenders saw it, Eden was illegal at it is due to it being a gathering of mutants, so they figured selling alcohol to minors was the least of their worries. They just made sure the minors could handle themselves and didn't mix it too strong.

"Have you seen Beauty around?" Jesse asked as he took a sip of a small cup of coke mixed with a tiny bit of whiskey.

"She should be at the bodega where she worlds. It's on Wilten Ave."

Giotto chuckled, looking down at Mimi. If she gained Jesse's stubbornness, poor Johnny will have his hands full when she grew older, more than he already has.The young prange haired man seemed to just appear sitting next to Jesse out of nowhere. "I'll have what he's having." He said, his gray eyes somewhat dull, but with enough life in them to not look like a zombie. He smiled at Jesse. "This place never dies, you know. It's always so lively. I love this place." He chimed cheerfully, waving his feet somewhat childishly before composing himself back into proper posture. "Ah, sorry, I was rude wasn't I? Something about giving names here and there...right then, I'm Hansel." The young man said, introducing himself as he shook Jesse's hand, whether he would've liked it or not. "Sorry to just talk to you like this, just not used to seeing kids so young around here. Lately most have been staying home for their own safety, with those guys out there and all. Even though they are mutants, their powers aren't assured to protect them." Hansel said as he stretched in his seat. "But thankfully this place exists...otherwise we'd all be more miserable than the usual. I only manage to get around because I disappear."

Jesse wasn't really expecting the newcomer to join him in a drink. Especially someone by the name of Hansel. What kid of name was that? Honestly it sounded pretty stupid to him. Like some kind of toaster strudel name or something. But whatever. Jesse gave a nod to the guy, but didn't like being called a kid even if he was one.

"I'm Jesse. And I'm not a kid." He huffed. "Well, I guess I am but I'm not like any other kid. I barely even use my powers but I can handle myself fine." Jesse struggled and took a sip of his drink again. The bartender quickly made a drink for Hansel, giving it to him with a smile.

"Honestly if it wasn't for this place we'd be f*****. Everyone would be on the streets getting arrested and s***."

  • Author

Hansel hummed, giving a nod. He thanked the bartender and paid for his drink. He took a sip. "You make a great point." He said, waving his feet. "This place is a safe haven. A little safe haven that mutants and humans can call home when there is no other place to go. Especially with both the skulls and the police hovering over, waiting for us to screw up and catch us in the act." He drank a bit more, frowning. "And you know what they say...once they discover you're a mutant, and you're taken to the big building with that red haired monster, you're never heard from again. Well, at least, that's what the rumors say...I wouldn't believe them but my younger brother got into some trouble after some shoplifting gone wrong and I haven't seen him since...that was some years ago. Heh, maybe they have this hidden city just for mutant prisoners? That would be nice to think about." He smiled at Jesse. "You don't use your powers a lot, right? What kind of power is it? Offensive, defensive?"

Jesse listened to Hansel talk. He agreed. It definitely was a safe heaven for mutants and humans. Honestly it was the only place mutants and humans to be safe together. Over the years Jesse heard rumors of what the future was going to be like. Rumor has it they're going to start with special stamps on your ID if you're a mutant. Then special bathrooms only for mutants. Maybe even schools only for mutants. Who knows what else. There never was a mutant president, though some people say before mutants were even discovered apparently John F. Kennedy was a mutant but who knows. It was probably some bullcrap speculation to give conspiracists something valid to talk about other than 'goer meant mind control nano robots in shampoo.' Jesse wasn't expecting however to hear the mention of Giotto's father. Honestly he shouldn't be shocked due to the fact that he's the boss of the police. Because of that everyone must hate him. Everyone in Eden, at least.

"Never heard from again. It's true. The missing reports keep piling up. I bet they're sent to evil Nazi doctors to get dissec-" he ended his sentence as soon as Hansel mentioned his little brother. Oh shit. Jesse needs to learn to shut the f*** up.

"I-I mean, yeah. F*** yeah there's an underground city. I'll go down there and help you find your brother myself." He rubbed the back of his head then Hansel smiled at him. Jesse really needs to learn when to shut up. Still, Jesse smiled back.

"I guess it's both? Or offensive I dunno. What's the difference?" Jesse just needs to go back to school in general. "I have like super screaming or whatever. I can make people's ears bleed. I found out I was a mutant well, two years ago my dad killed my mom and tried to kill me too... He was trying to drown me in the bathtub and I just yelled. I broke every window in the house. I don't really use it though. I don't need to that much. It's not like I can freaking control electricity or something badass like that."

  • Author

Hansel listened, nodding here and there. "I'm sorry about your mom." He added, resting his head against his hand. "My powers appeared way earlier. Around when I was a toddler, according to my mom. I just one day turned invisible and you can imagine how bad it was for my parents. Each and every time trying to find me while not being able to see me. It would've been hilarious to watch." Hansel chuckled. He looked down dreamily. "Maybe he's waiting for me after all. Ah! But that has to wait! Because our biggest concern is the one that even the law needs to catch up with, and that is those skully mobly wobbly people." Hansel said with a groan. He drank the last of his drink. "If my power were a bit more dangerous I'd beat them up!...only to get beaten up right back, I think...gah, if only we could reach the ones that the police have trapped. There's so many mutants that are waiting to be transported, but the security is as tight as a noose with all of that high tech cameras and security codes." Hansel said as he stuck out his tongue. "Maybe we'll find a mutant with electricity that can shock the system down to set them free...haha, yeah, I have to stop dreaming that way." He turned to Jesse. "Thanks so much for listening me, even though most of it was rant."

Jesse couldn't help but grin as he heard about Hansel's ability. Honestly he would've love to have such an ability to turn invisible. He would just torment Johnny everyday with such an ability. Playing pranks on him and the like. But he'd do it all in good fun for laughs and snickers.

"Hey, I could help ya with finding for brother. Wherever he is... I'm sure we could find somebody-" Then Hansel mentioned the need for a mutant with electricity powers. Jesse immediately grinned and threw his arm around Hansel's neck.

"Well... I might happen to know such a mutant that could shock the system to set them free... Think of him as a 'Machine Whisperer." Jesse said proudly. "We could break in and free everybody."

  • Author

Hansel blinked as he listened to Jesse. His eyes glistened in hope. "You...you're serious? You really know someone?" Hansel asked breathlessly. His heart pounded loudly as he turned to face Jesse fully. "Machine Whisperer...that sounds amazing. We can save them! All of them!" Hansel said, excitement in his voice as he clasped his hands around Jesse's hand. "If your friend is willing to help us, we would be forever in your debt! You would be saving their lives of whatever they would face at the central station!" Hansel said, gasping slightly. "I tried to pay the bond off for one of them, but they refused to accept any money. The police mentioned that they would be transferred away to the central station in a matter of days. I know it is as sudden as it sounds, but if you manage to contact your friend, would you two be willing to lend us a hand tonight, or tomorrow night? To get them out before they are sent to central station...oh man, I'm so sorry, I just got so excited, we've tried to break in so many times but the technology is more than what we can handle. This is the first chance we would have in a long time..." Hansel said, stammering as his face flushed, obvious excitement and emotion flourishing.

It was from Hansel's expression and excitement that really struck something inside Jesse. He didn't realize how this truly meant to other people. Yeah, Jesse had a bone to pick with the Skulls, but he didn't have anyone he cared about in a situation like that. Sure, Mimi is growing up in a dangerous neighborhood, but she was safe right now at home. Johnny was okay too. And Giotto. No one was captured or missing. It was thinking about this that really made Jesse have greater purpose to fight in this battle. He had to make sure people like Hansel was to be reunited with his brother. Jesse took his glass, and gulped the rest down.

"I'll talk to him right away." He said with a nod. "I think I might know other people who could help in this heist too." With that, he whipped out his phone and called Giotto. He wanted to see what he thought first before he introduced him. As soon as he picked up the phone, Jesse spoke.

"...wanna break out a bunch of mutants tonight or tomorrow night?"

Giotto blinked as he answered. "Breaking out what?!" He asked in surprise, not really expecting it. He paused, pursing his lips as he thought about it. "Sounds a bit dangerous...but if they're trapped...lets do it! I'm free tonight, or tomorrow. But I think the sooner the better, right?...wait, what made you come up with this plan all of a sudden, where did you hear that they have mutants trapped?" Giotto asked. Jesse had been in there for around twenty minutes and a whole situation had just popped up. Either Jesse had a great luck, or a bad luck, or maybe a bit of both. Though that was Giotto's thing. He didn't knew...that mutants were being arrested just for being mutants. He knew that the general public didn't think very good of them, but mutants arrested, specifically mutants? This was new. But then that would mean...more people that could possibly help them out to take down the skulls too. "I'll wear a hoodie and sun glasses...and we will have to tell Johnny ahead of time that we will be out for a while at night. We promised him and all." Giotto said as he smiled at Mimi.

Jesse couldn't help but grin after he heard Giotto's response. Hell yeah he'll do it. But Giotto did have a point; they would have to let Johnny know and drop Mimi off. But they still had to introduce Mimi to Beauty. Then again they could do it some other time. Another thing would be to try and get more people to join. Jesse looked around and couldn't help noticed the Skull on Hansel's back.

"I heart it from my new friend..." He said as he looked at the hoodie. The symbol looked basically exactly like the one that was painted on Miliani's arm. Why didn't anyone notice it or point it out.

"Yeah..." Jesse said slowly. "We could always let him know... Should we still take Mimi to see Beauty? We have some time to kill since it's still day and we could try to find more people to join anyway..."
