Yep, you heard right, the neverending development nightmare that is FFvsXIII is making some progress. After so many years of waiting, we finally have...

So the gist of it is:

 

- The shots are in real-time, though the submenus and party members were removed from the screenshots.

- You will be able to travel as far as you can see, until the mountains.

- You will have access to a car that you can enter and exit at any time.

- The enemy seen is a Military Behemoth.

- The locations in the game are based off of real places.

- Enemies will be on screen, somewhat similar to FFXIII.

- Battles will be seamless, and the loading times will only be for large areas, which they are working on.

- They are preparing for a big announcement...

 

Also, it has been confirmed that Versus and Agito XIII have begun voice casting.

 

And you know what this means: the sooner FFvsXIII is completed, the sooner KH3 gets put into production!

 

And stuff.

That looks rather interesting and it looks very nice. The great news is that once this is completed KH3 will finally begin production. Unless of course the Final Fantasy fanboys/girls demand yet ANOTHER game.

I have been waiting for the day this game comes out ever since I saw the trailer in 2008. I genuinely hope this will be an amazing game.

 

However, one thing that must be kept in mind is that this IS a Kingdom Hearts website, so people are going to be excited that KH3 is growing closer.

Yep. This info has been out since late June. Sadly, I'm pretty sure it'll be showed in a Closed Mega Theater again but it might show up on their site a few weeks later.

Actually, its been in development since 2003. It started off as a PS2 game but was later moved to the PS3 like XIII. Tetsuya Nomura gets involved in so many projects at the same time that its taking longer for each game to come out.

It should be renamed FF Versus XIII 4Ever.

 

Also I sincerely hope the Kingdom Team NEVER work on a FF game for as long as the live.

Well, for one thing, it's not like he's familiar with the PS3. He's trying to use that console to it's highest potential, so of course it'd take some time to "study" it. And of course, trial and error. Some things may work, some might not. In the end, it just goes towards making a better game. But really? Making a game isn't that easy. But really, the real reason why Versus is taking so long to complete is this:

 

Half of the Versus team had to go help the FF13 team during development. An average team is comprised of 50 or so people, each with a different job. Even if they achieved some progress, without the other half of the team, it wouldn't amount to much. An example would be, if the texture artists and modellers left to work on the other project, there would be little for the riggers to do.

 

And no, I'd personally like that the KH team to just take their time with Versus and don't rush on it. Make it great, because it certainly looks that way. With all of these other handheld games, I'd say we can wait.

I understand the whole "takes a long time to make a good game, blah blah blah" stuff. 7 years is just too long. And the only meaningful handheld was BBS. Days and coded were pointless to me. Well, coded not as pointless as days, but still insignificant to a degree. And now they're coming out with KH 3D, when they can just take the time to be making KH3? Isn't Osaka the one who is supposed to work on KH3? Why are they wasting time on another spin-off. Yes, I consider it a spin-off, because from the info we've gotten, it doesn't follow the exact plot of KH2. Anyways, let me get back on topic.

 

Versus should not have taken 7 years to be made, no matter what the conditions were. And I just hope that it gets finished soon, not just for KH3, because I want to play it

I agree Versus shouldn't have taken 7 years to be created and Nourma had to torture us by KH3 being released after Versus

I think it's understandable that Nomura is taking his time with Versus. He is still refining things like enemies, graphics, character models, and all these things that he hopes will make the game as good as it can be. And again, like this thread suggests, the Versus team is preparing for a big announcement, and they will be showing a trailer at Tokyo Game Show this year.

 

...though I do agree that he could lay off the KH spinoffs a bit. Not that 358/2 Days wasn't good, but it takes his attention away from what he should REALLY be focusing on: Versus.
