Berenst(e)ain Bears Conspiracy

Posted

Okay so most of you know of a very nostalgic children's book only known as the Berenstain Bears:

A theory surfaced the internet saying that apparently the book was once called Berenstein Bears and that we live in a false universe or multiple universes. It's really confusing but you can read all about it here:

I don't even know anymore

It's a very interesting concept, one that made me double take and think for a second.  There are a couple of things that I don't believe the article took into consideration, which would really alter the theory and make it false.  For example, the author mentioned that someone traveled back in time and changed the spelling of the word Berenstain, so now we have Berenstain everywhere instead.  However, if this indeed changed and it changed every copy of every book that people possessed, then why didn't it change our memories?  If it changed the book that we held, it should've changed our very remembrance of the word Berenstein because, in that case, we never would've seen it.

The parallel universe argument is a little stronger since there's a lot that we don't know about this world, but honestly I think it is a matter of people misspelling it, either at large or within a group, and just now realized that it was spelt with an A instead of an E.  Perhaps they never fully paid attention (Berenstain is kind of a hard word to spell) to its spelling and just thought it was an E for the longest time.  Personally I've always thought that it was spelt with an A, so I don't know *shrugs*.

Anything's possible, but I'm probably not going to give this one too much thought.  It's an interesting concept and theory, but without further evidence I cannot support the author's claim.

when I first heard about this my mind my blown. I do remember it reading it as Berenstein but it was probably just my mind making things up
