Welcome to the Disney Files, where your host, KH45, will go through the forgotten and past times of Disney that include shows and even characters. For this first file, we'll start with one of my recent favorites...Marsupilami.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1lP8D2O9Zo Marsupilami isn't really a character or product that Disney owned. It was only licensed by Disney from the creator, Andre Franquin. The Marsupilami was a fictional species that were featured in its own comics. Marsupilamis have REALLY long tails that they can use in a variety of ways, mostly used as a spring to bounce. The Marsupilamis do act like actual animals somewhat, having nests in trees, mating, and taking care of their children, But in Disney's version, it's a little different...First difference is that the character Marsupilami (or Mars for short) can talk like a human. The actual species cannot talk. The only ways for the species to talk is by saying "Hoobah" or mimic people like a parrot. Another difference from the character and the species is that Mars has a wisecracking, comical, wacky, modern, and joking personality. This was to make the character fit in the environment, make him more enjoyable, and to allow some jokes in the show. First showing in Disney's "Raw Toonage", Marsupilami then moved on to its own show with the same name. The setting in Marsupilami is Mars goes on wild adventures and maybe some hijinks accompanied by his best friend Maurice The Gorilla whether it's in the jungle or taking on human jobs. The show didn't go on for long. (Maybe the licensing ran out...) But on the bright side, it was entertaining to see this little creature in action.
That's all for today's information on "Disney's Lost Files". Next week, we'll be taking a look at a guy that was "bonkers". See ya real soon!
