From what I saw in Un:x it's the same story, but there might be a point were it splits and they go on two different routes if I understand what happened in KHx's new story update.

That's exactly what happens, Chi is starting to slowly diverge away from Unchained Chi. September's final update would conclude the differences between Chi and Unchained.

That's weird. That'd be 3 different stories then. Kinda how CoM hda both Sora and Riku's stories and at the same time 358/2 on the side.

Wonder if we'll ever see the actual war, not just the events beforehand. Probably not until the current saga is over. It'd be awesome if it was a FF XIV style MMO. But um... how can Chirithy, a Dream eater, exist in the real world?

Hopefully we will, after all, that is the core premise of Chi.

 

As for your second query, Riku is a Dream Eater for Sora that's able to exist in the real world. There's always exceptions to the rules of every enemy monster (Just like how Ansem, Seeker of Darkness is a heartless with conscience).

I thought chi was events leading up to the war and this is just showing the factions that will take part and the reason the war came about, otherwise this is a pretty boring war seeing as it's more who can pve harder rather pvp.And either way, this is kind of bogus seeing as outside of Japan I doubt we will get KHx so yet again we don't get to play the story for ourselves.

Only because Sora was still asleep, and because Riku was technically a human with Dream Eater powers, not an actual Dream Eater.
