Im actually surprised that I haven't seen a thread about this yet (or im blind)

 

Im sure many of us noticed in the new 2.8 Trailer that in 0.2 Aqua has to collect 5 "Gears".  I suppose these can be used to turn back the clock to re-create the bridge to Castle of Dreams and add yet another time travel aspect to this series...

 

...Anyhoo, it looks like Sora and friends might have a new objective mechanic.  How do you guys feel about this?  I think it will be a pretty good mechanic, perhaps force you to explore some more unexplored territory.

 

Anyway what do you guys think?  Yay or Nay?

Is that really a time travel mechanic? Maybe it's a way to the Keyhole of that world, so Aqua can restore it. But I do agree, I like mechanics that encourage exploration. I can't wait to see how expansive the worlds in KHIII are.

I figured it would be a time travel mechanic because Aqua says "If only I made it in time" when the bridge crumbles, makes me figure you need the gears to turn back time so you can cross.  But I could also be way off, wont know til december

I had assumed she meant she could have saved Castle of Dreams but was around in time.

It's less a time travel mechanic and more a reality-bending mechanic. Aqua isn't actually traveling through time, she's merely using the clock to bend reality in a confined space to 'rewind' time to a previous point. Given that the RoD is a weird place anyway, that doesn't seem out of the norm.

time traveling or time bending, really sounds like splitting hairs.  I should have said she is manipulating time, but its really beside the point
