Way2Dawn 80 Posted July 30, 2016 Good Morning Fellow Wielders! I was talking to a friend of mine, who is also a big KH fan, about the original Concept Artwork for Sora and it led me to this question: Do you think Kingdom Hearts would be as popular if they had kept Soras original concept? If they had kept Sora as a Lion/Human hybrid, presumably Riku and Kairi would also be half animal. In my opinion, while I like the Original Concept Art, I think the series was headed in a better direction with Soras current artwork, and I dont think the series would have reached this point of popularity had they not made the change. What do you guys think? Would keeping this Artwork make the series More/Less/As popular than it is today?

Sorarocks93 678 Posted July 30, 2016 Didn't he also had a chainsaw instead of a keyblade?
Way2Dawn 80 Posted July 30, 2016 Didn't he also had a chainsaw instead of a keyblade? He did, but since I have no idea about the direction the story would have gone without the Keyblade, I decided to just focus on his artwork alone.
Hero of Light XIV 2,381 Posted July 30, 2016 Eh, I have no idea. It really would have depended on the other creative decisions made beyond that. I'd like to believe that the writing for the series has been so good that even if they still went with this style it would have worked and been just as successful. Though in terms of art style, it's definitely more appealing as it is now rather than how it could have been with that. But that could just be because I'm more used to it this way. What this guy said, Kingdom Hearts worked for its time because it seamed the impossible. Disney + Final Fantasy. Everybody expected this to be a recipe for disaster.
