Now here's you should be reading Saga
It's best ongoing western comic and is probably going to be one of the best comics ever made.
Now the easy pitch for Saga is it's Star Wars meets Romeo and Juliet with touch of Game of Thrones and The Lord of the Rings but that's not giving credit that Saga deserves. Now story without getting into to much spoilers is about Alana and Marko, two lovers from different planets whose people are at war with one another. As series starts off with Alana giving birth to their child, who occasionally narrates the series. The family subsequently flees forces from both sides, in particular Prince Robot IV and The Will, who hunt the family on behalf of the Robot Kingdom and Wreath, respectively.
Now what Saga does great is gives you several different genres ranging from sci-fi/fantasy,romance and adventure but mixes them all so fluidly. It puts you right into story so it's doesn't waste time unneeded explaining. The story by BKV feels fresh and unique where you think almost anything can happen. The characters motivations all work and you do connect with most characters in the series even if their trying to kill the main characters.
Fiona Staples art is another thing that stands out about this book above anything is that it's glorious with character acting especially the eyes and facial expressions that perfectly suited to Vaughan's subtle dialogue which help shows what makes this medium so special and sell the story in general. Her artwork is some of the best work in comics at the moment and adds so much personality to the story.
But you should be warned their is so nudity and swearing in the story.
So if you don't read Saga that's cool but if you never read an western comic cause you though they were just superheros or never dived into the indie comic scene you should give it chance their great stories their and one of the best examples of that is Saga.
