Alex slid back a considerable distance, clutching his stomach in pain from Marina's powerful kick. She was hardly a pushover under normal circumstances, but with the gloves controlling her, her strength was above superhuman. Alex could plainly see Marina doing her best to resist the gloves, but it seemed futile. As she charged towards him full force, Alex shook his head. "Stop it, Marina! No apologies! You don't have anything to be sorry for!" Alex rolled out of the way at the last possible second and went for an attack on her back, but Marina turned around quickly and deflected it. "Besides, you have to save your energy for fighting back!!!" Alex began clashing with her quickly and furiously. Alex was fighting hard, while still trying to avoid hurting her. On the other hand Marina, while still trying to hold back, every strike was a potential death blow. Alex and Marina both slid back after a powerful clash, and Marina charged at him once again, her Keyblade burning with green flames. Alex did a flip over her with barely a millisecond to spare, but her blade caught the sleeve of his sweater, tearing into it. When Alex landed, he looked at his arm. His sweater was torn, and it had caught on fire with green flames. Moving quickly, Alex unzipped his sweater and tossed it into the wind, as the whole artical of clothing caught on fire and turned to ash. Alex ran towards her and went for a slash. As Marina went to counter it, her blade went straight through Alex. Suddenly, he seemingly vanished. Before she could react, Alex had appeared behind her, doing a sweep kick to knock her to the ground. Marina pressed herself into the air and back onto the ground, and Alex stood across from her. "I'm not letting go, Marina! I'll keep going all day if I have to, but I WILL free you, no matter what!!" Alex slowly raised his Keyblade onto his shoulder, and ran at her.

Alex's worst nightmares had come true. Not only was it clear that in the mere minutes Athxson had her that he had been brutal towards her, but Marina was completely gone, and she was attacking him in blind fury. Alex was doing his best to avoid her attacks, but he was caught off guard from the entire situation. She raised her hand for a devestating punch, and Alex raised his Keyblade to block it. Her fist connected with his blade, and cracks appeared in the ground beneath them. I don't know what happened to you Athxson... but you're wrong. You're dead wrong! About everything! And when I have Marina back, you're next!!! Alex looked up slowly, using all the strength he had to keep her back. "Athxson... you'll never understand this..." Alex took a step forward, his blade still blocking Marina's fist. "...but love... is worth dying for!!!!" Alex then swung his Keyblade with all of his strength and managed to push Marina back. He held his Keyblade to his heart, and looked up with a determined look at his girlfriend. This wasn't something he ever wanted to do. But it was something he had to do. He had to take on Marina and get her senses back. By force. "I know you're still in there somewhere, Marina, but regardless..." Alex swung his Keyblade to his side. "...we never did finish that training session, did we?!" Alex then spun his Keyblade and pointed it at her. "And this is a message for those gloves you have on..." Alex then slammed his Keyblade to the ground and ran at her, sparks shooting out from his blade dragging through the ground. "...give me back the girl I LOVE!!!!!" Alex stopped just short of Marina and swung his Keyblade upward, sending a shower of sparks towards her face. Using this brief distraction, Alex managed to hit her with the hilt of his blade, but she absorbed the impact with her gloves, though she was pushed back. Alex sprinted forward and the two began clashing blades with incredible speed. Marina's strength was enhanced far beyond his own, but Alex was arguably the fastest warrior of his time, and he had to use that to his advantage, now more than ever. Their blades locked. "Marina, I know you're in there! You have to stop!!!"

Jason's eyes suddenly opened wide under his hood. "I've found her." Alex, Joe, and Jonathan turned to Jason. "I found signs of Athxson's darkness, it's more powerful than any I've felt in the past. I'd recognize it anywhere, and it's waiting at the Land of Departure." Jason turned to face Alex. "I guess this means you're up..." Alex nodded, and turned to everyone. "I'm going on my own. It's something I have to do. In the meantime, you can gather your strength, resources, or whatever it is that you need to take him down for good if I can't. I know it sounds like suicide, but you have to understand. I have to do this. She's the girl I love, and if this means saving her, then this next fight is mine. I know it sounds selfish... but that's just how it has to be. I hope you understand" Alex then turned his attention to Jason. "Look, I don't know you well, and I don't trust you completely, but... if I die here, then I'm counting on you to save Marina, and look after her. Got it?" Jason shook his head. "That's not necessary. You have what it takes to defeat him and get her back. Remember what I told you. Most dangerous person in the world is the person who has someone worth dying for. You're more powerful than Athxson can ever hope to be, it's up to you to unlock that power in yourself." Alex gave a small smile. "Thanks Jason. Well, I guess I should go." Jason placed a hand on his shoulder. "Wait." With his other hand, he reached up and pulled off his hood. There was nothing overly spectacular about Jason's face, certainly nothing particularily worth hiding. Him keeping himself concealed was an issue of keeping those he didn't trust at a distance. He had dark brown hair, deep blue eyes, and light facial hair around his chin, from the time he spent in the Realm of Darkness. He did have one noticeable feature though; a large scar on the right side of his face, going over his eye. "I don't know you well either, but I can tell that you have a good heart, and you're a good man. I don't know what's coming next, but in case I don't have the chance to give you this advice, I'm doing it now." Jason looked Alex in the eyes. "I have no one. I've spent my life fighting. Fighting to find my future, fighting for justice, fighting to protect others. The creed I lived by was that if I wasn't dead, then there was still something I had to do... but I was wrong. All I did was trap myself in a life of neverending battles. I grew up fighting, I've lived fighting, and I will die fighting. This isn't the life I wanted, but it's what I have, and I will see it through to the end. But when I look in your eyes, even if you smile, I can see nothing but pain inside of you. I see someone who's seen more conflict and death than anyone should ever have to go through. I see what could end up being me. Cherish the life you have, and the people close to you. Don't waste the rest of your life fighting." Alex's mouth was slightly opened, then it closed and turned into a determined smile, and Alex nodded. Jason stepped back and created a dark corridor. "Now, take Athxson down." With that, Alex stepped through the corridor. . . . A dark corridor appeared at the edge of the Land of Departure. A few seconds after it appeared, Alex came out of it, looking down and walking forward slowly. The corridor vanished behind him. While he was walking, Alex was looking into his left hand, where he continued to hold Marina's bloody locket. He gripped it tightly and closed his eyes, still walking forward. You want me, Athxson? Well, here I am. And I'm leaving with her.

Jason crossed his arms. "It's not just "sensing." I'm deeply in tune with both light and darkness. I tap into their energy to help me locate both allies and foes. It's how I tracked the two of you down here. But someone as deeply in tune with darkness as Athxson probably has precautions against this sort of thing. I can try, but I can't guaruntee anything." Alex lowered his head. "Well, if Athxson wants me coming for him, he'd have to leave a hint as to where he is. Right now, priority is to find out where Athxson is. Once we do, I'm going for him."

No, that was a good move. The bad move was that Square announced it 7 years earlier than they should have.

Alex looked down and shook his head. "I never said I'm making a deal with him. I said I'm going after him and I'm getting Marina back. Look, you can talk about your plans all you want, but that's not going to change anything. I don't know if you've ever had someone you truly loved with all your heart, but when you do, you would do anything to protect them. You would die for them. I don't know if you have that person, but I do. And all I know is that right now, that monster has her, and you two can speculate all you want, but I don't plan to sit by and wait while she could be suffering. I'd rather die. I don't claim it's logical, I don't claim it's smart, but it's what I HAVE to do." Alex looked back up at them. "Now, do you know where Athxson's base is? If not, I'm sure Jason could track it down."

Honestly, Nomura is one of the few good things Square still has going for them. He's the only one who releases titles that are consistantly good, and his art style, while familiar, is responsible for some extremely memorable character designs. His biggest flaw is he sucks at multitasking, and fails to give consistant updates on his titles, but he hasn't ruined Square.

Jason kneeled down on the ground, and closed his eyes. "Light, show me my allies..." A vision of Neverland appeared in Jason's mind, and he opened his eyes, standing back up again. "Found them. He's in Neverland." Jason extended his arm, and a corridor of darkness appeared in front of him, with Jason walking through it first. Alex hung back for a moment, looking at the bloody locket in his hand. "Marina, I'm coming for you. I promise. Just hold on..." With a resolved look on his face, Alex walked through the corridor of darkness, with it vanishing behind him. . . . A dark corridor appeared beside Joe and Jonathan, and Jason walked through it, acknowledging the two with a short nod. "Good to see you two are safe. Alex is with me, and we have some news." As he said this, Alex appeared through the dark corridor, and it vanished behind him. "Marina has been taken by Athxson. He's holding her hostage. He said, "have them surrender the last two pieces or you will never see her again." Alex looked down for a moment, then looked back up. "I don't know what you two are planning, but I know what I have to do. I'm going for him. Now. I have to save her."

Final Fantasy XIII. Got it for X-Box, but it broke the console. I repaired it, tried again, and it broke the console again. That's what motivated me to buy a PS3. It was the 2nd game I got for it.

"Yes it is. A couple miles south of Alabama."

Guy beside me: "Hey, is Florida in California?"

Alex was still by the ocean, and Jason had walked away to give him some needed time to himself. Jason suddenly sensed something, and his eyes shot open. Darkness just appeared and vanished again... Athxson was just here! Jason turned and sprinted to where Alex was. As Alex sat by the ocean, he heard a soft thud in the sand beside him. Turning his head, his eyes shot wide open. The locket he gave to Marina. Covered in blood. Alex, with his hand shaking, moved and picked up the locket, looking at it before gripping it tightly. "Marina...." His grip on it grew even tighter. "Athxson... ATHXSON! WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?! GET OUT HERE AND FACE ME YOURSELF!!!!!!!" Alex got up and had his Keyblade drawn. It was then that he saw a message nearby: "Alex, if you want her back, I recommend you have them surrender the last two pieces or you will never see her again." "DAMN IT, YOU COWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Alex punched the ground in pure rage. Alex could handle a lot, but doing anything to put Marina in danger was crossing the line. Alex then heard Jason running over to him. "Jason, he sent me an ultimatum. Athxson has her! I have to go after her!" Jason shook his head. "Alex, don't be shortsighted. You CAN'T take on Athxson by yourself. You'll get yourself killed!" Alex stepped forward and grabbed Jason by the shoulders. "I could care LESS about what happens to me, Jason!!! I don't care if I live or die! The girl I love is in danger, and I will NOT sit by and wait knowing that she could be suffering!!! And besides, I'd rather DIE than live in a world where I can't keep her safe!!!!!" Alex breathed heavily for a moment, and Jason didn't say a word. After a minute, Alex let go of Jason. "...you can sense where people are, right?" Jason nodded. "Find out where Joe is. We have to tell him what Athxson told me... then I'm going after him myself. And I don't care if anyone has anything to say about it, I'm going to find her, and I'm going to save her."

Alex sat at the edge of the ocean, his head buried in his knees and his arms wrapped around his legs. "Why would Athxson do this...?" Alex's voice was shaking. "And why would he do this to her, of all people. I always wanted to be a dad, to have kids... but this is nothing like that." Jason stood behind Alex, facing away. "Way I see it, Athxson is a man who plans everything. There's a motive behind this. Possibly a means to emotionally break you and her, and I'd imagine that he has plans for whatever it is he planted inside of Marina." "But why her?!" Alex turned to Jason, his eyes watering. "Athxson barely knows us. We did nothing to him, other than defend ourselves when he would attack... so why her..." Jason folded his arms and looked down. "...I can't answer that, Alex." Alex gave a half hearted laugh and turned away. "Guess you don't have all the answers after all." Alex gripped the locket around his neck and opened it, looking at the picture of him, Marina, Lambda, and Casshern. "I promised her... I promised her when we got involved that I wouldn't let anything happen to her... to Lambda..." Alex's grip around the locket tightened. "I failed... first Lambda is destroyed, and now Marina's been impregnated God-knows-how by that monster... I failed..." Jason walked beside Alex. "Stop it. You're going to stop him, and you're going to set this right, protect her from whatever's happening to her." Alex gave a sarcastic laugh. "I could barely believe myself when I said that to Marina. Why should I believe you?" Jason continued to look at Alex. "Because Athxson made a grave mistake. He put the woman you love in danger." Alex looked up at Jason. "And in all the time I've been fighting through my life, I know for a fact what the two most dangerous things in the world are: a man who has nothing to lose..." Jason turned and began to walk away. "...and a man who has someone worth dying for." Alex looked back at Jason as the hooded man left him to his thoughts. Turning back to the ocean, Alex looked down at his locket again. He closed his eyes. Marina... I don't know where you are. Hell, I don't even know if you're alive. I don't even know why I'm saying this, because unless there's some kind of miracle or Star comes up with a logical way for you to hear this, I'm just talking to myself. Maybe our lockets are magic, I dunno, something. But regardless... I'm sorry. I'm so sorry, Marina. I was supposed to protect you, to keep you safe from all of this. I failed, and I'm so, so sorry. Alex's grip on his locket tightened. But I promise. I promise that no matter what, no matter where you are, I'm going to find you. I'm going to be there to help you get through this. I'll find a way to make sure you don't have to go through this, even if I have to give my life to Athxson in exchange for him reversing what he did to you, I don't care what it takes. But no matter what, I'm going to find you, and we're going to make Athxson suffer for everything he's done. I promise. Alex's eyes opened, with tears forming slightly. And no matter what... no matter where you are, or how far apart we are physically... I'm always going to be at your side. No matter what happens. I promise that, as well.

Alex stopped his fighting the moment he heard Athxson's "announcement." What did he just say?! Alex turned to Marina, then to Athxson, who was in the air in the distance. Marina's loyal, she'd never do something like that, especially with a monster like Athxson... so what- "Keep your eye on her. Something's not right. I can sense it." Athxson....! Alex's fist clenched tightly, and he charged towards Athxson, a powerful aura of light around him. A bunch of seekers swarmed in front of him, and he brought his Keyblade to his side. "OUT OF MY WAY!!!!!" Alex gave a powerful swipe with his Keyblade, and slashed through dozens of them in one clean blow. "ATHXSON!!!!!" He closed the distance on Athxson and went to attack before the world was destroyed and light consumed everything. . . . Alex and Jason flew through the air and hit the ground, rolling a few times before coming to a stop. Jason opened his eyes and gave a look around, seeing a bright blue sky, sandy beaches, and a small settlement right by the ocean line. "Destiny Islands... 1000 years later and it has barely changed..." He slowly stood up, and looked down, a giant slash mark over his chest. He then heard Alex getting up beside him, in a panic. Alex was looking around desperately. "Marina?! Are you here?! Say something! Athxson, don't you dare hide from me!!! Show yourself!!!!" Jason walked towards him. "You have to relax, you need to calm down." Alex shook his head. "I can't relax, I need to find her, I need to find him! Did you hear what he said?!" Jason grabbed his shoulders and harshly turned Alex to face him. "Of course I did, and whatever it was he did, he is going to pay for, and we'll find a way to get Marina out of this situation. But now is NOT the time to be losing your cool. You HAVE to breathe, calm down, and plan your next move accordingly. Calm. Down." Alex looked at Jason for a moment, then collapsed to his knees, breathing slowly. His voice was a low, broken whisper. "...Marina and I... what did we ever do to deserve this...?" Jason looked at Alex, and after a moment, sat down beside him, putting his hand on his shoulder. "Nothing... you did nothing..."

Jason clashed his blade with Azura, constantly clashing with her. He could tell from her technique and fighting style that whatever this thing was, it wasn't Azura. Or at least, it wasn't the Azura she used to be. Asides from the use of darkness in her attacks, her technique was just off. Normally, the two would have been able to match each other in a straight up battle, but Jason felt more as though he was just toying with Azura. Within a few strikes, he had knocked Azura's blade out of her hand. She retaliated by sending a blast of darkness at Jason. Jason caught the blast with his hand, and was pushed back several feet before stopping. Still holding the blast of darkness in his hand, Jason looked up at her. "You... can have... this back!" Jason sent the blast straight back at Azura, knocking her to the ground. Jason immediately leapt at her while she was on the ground, and placed his Keyblade on her chest. Light traveled through her, transforming into bonds of light that restrained her wrists and ankles to the ground. Alex continued to cut through Athxson's legions of seekers with merciless speed, beams of light continuing to rain down over the Keyblade Graveyard. Jabbing his Keyblade through one, Alex took a look around at his surroundings. All things considered, things were moving rather smoothly. Which naturally meant that he was worried about something going wrong. Marina seemed alright, despite Jason's warning to him to keep an eye on her. All the others seemed to be doing alright as well, so for now, all Alex could do was keep fighting. Jason looked over to the distance. Several people were closing in on Athxson. With Azura contained, he now had to do something to help them. Jason crouched to the ground, and closed his eyes. "Darkness..." He then leapt into the air, leaving black flames on the ground where he once was. He landed near Athxson, Vashle, and Gale, and slowly stood himself up. He turned to Athxson, and pointed his Keyblade at him. "You will not harm anyone ever again."

Alex looked at Joe and nodded. "No problem!" He drew his Keyblade and swung it into the air, his eyes starting to glow blue. A beam of light shot from his blade into the air, making the sky glow white. He began spinning his Keyblade over his head. "LIGHT... RAIN DOWN!!!" Swinging his Keyblade down, a storm of light beams began shooting down from the sky, engulfing the seekers hit by them with white flames. Alex charged to the left and began cutting through more. Jason had momentarily paused when he saw one of his enemies. "Azura....?" It was definitely Azura Victor, but she was nothing more than a puppet for Athxson now. Jason looked down. "No... you aren't Azura anymore, are you...?" He looked back up at her, who was using her Keyblade and darkness powers before spotting Jason. Jason slowly lifted his hand, and his own Keyblade materialized. "Azura... it's time for you to rest..."

(Joe, you were talking to Jason) Alex looked up for a moment. For some reason, he really doubted that this was really the end. Likely because the RP has only been going for 20 pages. But for now, he figured that there was no harm in going along with everything. Besides, if this WAS the end, who was he to complain? "Yeah, I'm ready. Let's end this." Alex turned over to Jason. "And you?" Jason was looking at Marina, his eyes narrowing under his hood. After a moment, he turned to Alex and nodded. "Yeah. Still... be careful." Jason walked past them, and in a brief moment, he placed his hand on Alex's shoulder. He suddenly heard Jason's voice in his head. Keep your eye on her. Something's not right. I can sense it. Alex turned to Jason as we walked towards the edge of the planet. Alex then turned back to Marina. Something's not right...?

Jason smirked under his hood. Stuff like this wasn't new to him. In reality, there wasn't anything that forced him to keep his hood on, other than a scar over his right eye, given to him during a fight with the Organization's leader in his time. It was just a matter of trust, and Jason's main rule was never to trust anyone. The less people knew about him, the better. He turned slightly to Garry. "Smart words." He turned his attention back to Marina. "Caution is the better part of valor. We still know almost nothing about him, blindly charging him is going to get a lot of people killed. I'm not talking out of fear, I'm being realistic." Looking down, Jason closed his eyes. You remind me so much of Azura... Alex turned to Jason while he and Marina held each other. "Wouldn't kill you to lighten up every now and then, Hoodie." He then looked back at Marina. "I've been saying that for around 15 years now. Would be nice to actually follow through on that for once."

Jason didn't flinch as Marina's blade stopped barely an inch from his neck. He simply cracked his neck. "Just try to avoid nearly decapitating me next time..." He then turned around, facing away from them. "So it's war, then...? Is that the smartest thing to do, given that we still don't know the extent of his power yet...?" Alex shrugged. "No idea, but either way, this RP hasn't been going on long enough for it to end already. I doubt things are going to be over quite yet." Alex was looking at Marina, with a serious expression. If anyone knew the effects that nightmares could have on a person, it was Alex. Given that Athxson was behind this one, and adding on to that Marina's emotional instability and those gloves, and Alex wasn't confident in her saying she was fine. What if you lose yourself to those gloves again? What if you DON'T turn back to normal next time? Alex simply shrugged. "Well, if you say you're alright, I'll take your word for it."

Alex looked down a bit. So Lambda didn't have emotions anymore. This meant, by extension, that she really had no connection to him anymore, other than knowing that she cared about him at some point. The news pretty much sucked, but Alex tried not to let it get him down. "Hey, what's important is that you're back, and that you're okay. And honestly, I don't care if your emotional core is there or not. As long as you're here, that's all that matters to me." Jason turned to her slightly. "Jason. Jason Halfblood. I heard you were able to nearly take down Athxson. That's impressive if I've ever heard." Jason then turned back to Casshern. "I see... well, I don't have any connections left here. But I'll be with you when the time comes to do battle, that I can assure you." Jason's eyes slightly widened. For a brief moment, he felt a powerful darkness on Land of Departure, then just as quickly, it left. He sensed where it was, and his eyes widened further. "Marina." Immediately he sprinted into the castle, with Alex following closely behind. The two were in Marina's room in a heartbeat, watching her moving around in her sleep. Jason put his hand on her forehead and closed his eyes. Alex was desperate. "Jason, could you move a bit faster? What's going on?!" Jason opened his eyes. "She appears to be trapped in some kind of nightmare." Alex's heart stopped when he heard that. Trapped in a nightmare? If that's anything like what Nightmare did to me... oh God! "Well, can you get her out?!" Jason looked down slightly. "...I don't know."

Alex turned around to the sight of Lambda running towards him. He instantly had a huge smile on his face. Marina actually fixed her! Is there anything she CAN'T do? Alex got up from his seated position and met Lambda, kneeling down and holding the girl's shoulders. However, the moment Alex looked into her eyes, he knew something was wrong. He didn't know what, but Lambda just seemed different somehow. Regardless, he didn't let his smile fade. "How're you doing, my favourite girl?" Jason turned as well, seeing Casshern. He slowly stood up. "So you're still alive." He smiled under his hood. "I'm glad to see at least one person escaped Twilight Town alive..."

Jason stood a distance away from Neena, his Keyblade at the ready and his left hand burning with darkness. Then he watched as Neena walked towards him slowly, determination in her eyes. He smirked for a moment, and his hand eased up, the darkness in it fading. He grabbed his hood and lifted it off, showing himself. There was nothing particularily spectacular about his face; dark brown hair, deep blue eyes. The only abnormal feature was a large scar over his right eye. "You've been a good opponent. I still intend to win, but if there is someone else who deserves to win this battle, it's you. It's been an honour fighting you..." Jason began walking towards Neena, his Keyblade at his side. "So... let's end this the honourable way. No more magic... no more tricks... just skill." Jason pointed his Keyblade at Neena, gave a small smile, then charged towards her.

Jason raised an eyebrow at Alex. "You don't know why you fight?" Alex shook his head. "Nah, it's not that. It's just the reasons why I'm fighting seem to change every two minutes." Jason looked at Alex for a few moments, then spoke. "But you don't want to fight." Alex looked at Jason in surprise. "It's in your eyes. You put on a facade of being happy, easy going, fun, but there's a lot of pain and doubt in your eyes. You don't fight because you want to. You fight because you have to. You feel like it's your duty to fight, despite all of your other motivations." Jason looked ahead. "It seems like you and I aren't too different..." Alex looked at Jason for a moment, then looked away. "Don't pretend you know me."

Having been firmly implanted into a wall when Jason had explained himself to Marina, the hooded man explained himself once more to Alex. By the end of it, Alex simply had an eyebrow raised. Jason smirked under his hood. "I expected you to be more surprised." Alex simply shrugged his shoulders. "Honestly, that isn't even the strangest thing I've heard in the last month, at this point." Alex turned to Jason. "But you know this is something you don't have to do, right?" Jason turned to Alex. "Jason, you're fighting for the sins of others. To correct the mistakes others have committed, fight in battles that you have no stake in. All it's going to do is get you killed. Fighting to correct the world's mistakes... that isn't your job, Jason. Don't you have anyone else to go back to?" Jason replied with a quick and simple "No." Alex looked at him in surprise. "I traveled here through the Realm of Darkness. This was a one way trip. There's only two people I have in my life that I care about, and as of now, they've been dead for thousands of years. All I can do is fight. And as for your other statement... you're right. I don't have to fight. It isn't my job. At any point, I could put down my sword, try to find someone, settle down, and live my life in peace..." Jason gazed at Alex. "But if I don't fight for those people, who will?" Alex looked down, and Jason stared ahead. "Exactly. This isn't the life I ever wanted. But it's what I have. And I will see it through." Jason turned back to Alex. "And you? Why are you fighting?" Alex looked up. "Boy, is that the question of the hour..."

Alex looked at Marina as she walked away to repair Lambda, and slowly nodded. As she vanished from view, Alex slumped against a wall and slid down it. The situation had escelated much farther and much faster than he had ever anticipated. Athxson was a legitimate threat to the universe, and it was riding on all of them to stop the madman. Marina's right, we need the Brotherhood to help us. Maybe even get Leslie to offer support if she can. But we need people, and we need to act.
