  4. The rough voice that belonged to Castiel cut through the illusion that he had been seeing all this time and he was suddenly snapped back into reality. He was not a young child again, and his mom wasn't really here, she was dead. She had died in the fire years ago. He and Cas were on a mission, in heaven, he was dead and they needed to find God. The joy in his face fell away as well as the vision of his mother. "Yeah Cas..." He sighed deeply and stood up, not daring to look back at the scene. "Let's go." He saw the urgent expression on Cas' face and quirked his brow in confusion, he didn't even need to ask, there must be angel's nearby. Angels that most likely were not okay with him being in heaven at the moment. He wondered how Cas was even able to travel to heaven with his powers on lockdown. "Alright, where to Cas?" He asked after regaining his placid expression. He looked around the space suspiciously, on his guard especially. This was angel territory and he was not welcome.
  5. True to his request, Dean had braced for the worst as Castiel laid a hand on his forehead, but instead he felt only a warmth that seemed to envelope his entire body before for a split second, everything went dark. For a moment, he could feel nothing, no pain, no happiness, nothing. For a blissful moment in time, he was perfectly numb. It was then that he found himself in a sunny room, after squinting, he realized it to be a living room. More specifically, the living room of his old house. It had been untouched by the fire and the birds outside in the town of Lawrence Kansas were singing as though nothing bad could have ever happened there. "Dean?" The most beautiful voice Dean had always strived to keep in his memory called out to him. He abruptly turned around to find the source and was suddenly face to face with his mom. He forgot where he was at that moment, no longer did it register that he was in heaven. What mattered was that his mom was here, right in front of him. "Mommy?" Dean found himself croaking as he ran full force into his mother's warm and inviting arms. "What the matter Dean?" Mary Winchester asked as she gave her son a chaste kiss on the forehead, "Do you want to play for a while until I have to start dinner?" Dean felt himself lighting up, and only hugged his mom tighter, "Yes mommy." He reached down and held up a toy firetruck, and for the first time in so many years, let go. However, his thoughts once drifted to the man in the trench coat standing by the door.

  11. Dean swallowed the fear rising in his throat as he and Castiel stepped into the abandoned alleyway, there was nobody around to see them which was good, he'd rather not have someone discovering his dead body and freaking out over it, it would cause too much of a scene. He stood at arms length from Castiel and sighed, trying to gather up his composure to stick this out, to imagine the face of some damn monster killing him instead of Cas. It was so hard, all he could see was the face of the angel that saved him from hell and had done so much for him. He squeezed his eyes shut to stop an involuntary tear from leaking down his cheek, and balled up his fists. "Go ahead Cas." He motioned towards himself, "Just do it, but...", there was a pause, "Please... Let it be painless." Memories of the hellhounds raking his chest to shreds and his vision turning red filled his mind. Could he really do this? He had to, there was no other choice was there.

  14. Not expecting the statement Castiel gave, Dean, in shock, dropped his fork on his plate. The dinner had suddenly gone silent as the only noise he registered was the resulting loud clang from the impact. Him go to heaven? The only way for that to work would be if Castiel killed him. He would have to die in order to get into heaven, even if Castiel could bring him back, he had already died once before and did not want to repeat the experience. Though it so happened to be the only way that he and Cas' could find God. They would not ever be able to find him any other way than this. So if he needed to set aside his personal desires for the good of mankind, then so be it. Swallowing thickly, he sighed and looked Cas in the eyes, "No, its fine Cas. It's okay. I'm okay.". He pushed his plate to the side once again and stood up. "Alright, let's do this. Sammy, you take baby. We'll meet you back at Bobby's whenever we can." He tossed his younger brother the keys, who expertly caught them, and began to walk outside the diner. "C'mon Cas." he beckoned to the angel.
  15. well would you look at that... i pulled an all nighter
  16. 'twas the night before my brit lit project was due, and all through the house, the sounds of furious typing and muffled weeping was heard
  17. 2 give us the illusion that we're winning at least
  18. Dean nodded and pulled his formally abandoned plate towards him once more and resumed eating his breakfast. This was a turn of events for him, but it might work out, there could be a way to stop the apocalypse without roasting half the planet alive. There might just be hope for this damned crusade, he just hoped they all came back alive from it. He grasped the wound leather string holding the pendant around his neck, who knew that it would have came in handy at this hour. As he downed the rest of his breakfast, and choked back some water, he stood up and grabbed his jacket, "What are you waiting for Cas, let's go." He gave the angel a familiar smirk.
  19. help me brit lit is ruining my life
  20. 4 do not ruin my fun
  21. Dean nodded in understanding of Castiel's plan, and smiled lightly, a road trip with Cas, didn't seem half bad now that he thought about it. There was something about him that Dean felt that he could place his trust in. He had comforted him as he had had a breakdown the night before and seemed to want to do anything to help him. Dean did not know what to think of that, he had never had this kind of relationship with another being other than his brother, and not even Sam knew everything about him. Dean felt like he needed Castiel in his life right now, like he wouldn't be able to get by without him. Which was saying something for the older Winchester. He felt that this little excursion would what he needed aside from the obvious business at hand. Sam would be safe at Bobby's and there wasn't much he needed to worry about. "Alright Cas, when do we need to take off?" He asked in anticipation, he wondered if they would be taking angel air this time, since Castiel obviously felt uncomfortable in the impala.
  22. Dean's eyes widened at the prospect of Cas wanting him to come with him to find God, what use would he be to him? Like God wanted to be found anyway, but he guessed it would be worth a try. "Why do I need to come with you Cas?" Dean asked, genuinely curious, why couldn't Cas just take his amulet and go? Not that he was complaining of course. As much as he trusted the angel, leaving the necklace with someone else, worried Dean, he didn't want to lose it. Also, spending time with Cas wouldn't be so bad. He genuinely enjoyed his company as clueless as he could be. God may be able to help them with this situation, as disheartening as it sounded, it seemed hopeless without his help at this point. He didn't want to become a vessel, he honestly didn't. The world would be roasted alive and there would be nothing he could do to stop it at that point. The thought alone made him cringe.
