Peanut

"You didn't ask, remember?" Roxas reminded her with a weak smile. "I offered. And I'll be deeply offended if you say no." The last bit was a joke, meant to lighten the mood and stop Namine's tears. Sora was really good at making people laugh when they were down; maybe Roxas was too.

Roxas held Namine a little more tightly at her crying. "It's okay," he repeated. "I'll fix this." He was a guy, and guys always wanted to fix things. He'd help her pack. He'd fix the walls and clean out the blood stains and help her move into his room. He'd do whatever he had to in order to stop her crying.

"Of course you could," Roxas reasoned, looking down at the girl who he caressed. "I don't have a roommate so I don't need his permission. The school doesn't care either..." He had a free ride because of his musical talent, and because of that, he had certain privileges that others didn't. "And it's only until you get back on your feet anyway." It was a small room, but this was only a temporary situation. It'd work.

The paper fluttered to the floor as Roxas stepped forward in instinct. He lifted a hand and placed it on the back of Namine's head, gently bringing her to him. He couldn't stand to see her cry... "It's okay," he heard himself say. "You can stay with me." He was surprised to hear himself say it, but now that it was out there, he'd hold to it. He lived in a single dorm room. There wasn't much room, but she could stay with him until she found another place to live.

Roxas's eyes widened when tears appeared in Namine's eyes. Oh crap. He had no clue what to do with tears! He automatically reached out a hand towards her, though she wasn't even within arms-reach in the first place. What was he supposed to do? He couldn't argue with her landlord for her; she broke the rules and he was justified in kicking her out.

Roxas looked over at Namine. She was smart enough to know that the landlord finding out about Faye was a big problem. "...It's a letter of eviction, Nam," he said quietly, swallowing hard before he said it. He hated to break the news to her, but it was his only option.

Roxas lifted a hand, pinching the bride of his nose. "...It's a note from the landlord," he said, being honest. "They heard Faye barking and took her to the petstore." And that was only one of their problems. Namine was being evicted...Where would she live?

Crap, Roxas thought again. He didn't have time to think about how to break the news to Namine. She had to get all of her stuff out within a week of returning to the Islands, and the mess with Seifer had to be cleaned up as well. Walls needed to be patched, blood stains removed...He definitely didn't want her worrying about any of that though; he wanted to keep her away from anything that could remind her of Seifer.

Crap, Roxas thought after skimming the sheet. This was...an eviction notice. They heard Faye barking and because of Namine not complying to the "no-pets" rule, they were evicting her. The only good thing here was that Faye was taken care of and returned to the pet store. But...how was he going to tell Namine this?

Roxas blinked, surprised at the silence of Namine's apartment. Faye should have been running out to greet them since she was such a sociable pup. He looked around, though he then noticed a bright slip of paper on the endtable closest to the door. No way... he thought, eyebrows furrowing as he stepped in and approached it. He hoped that wasn't what he thought it was.

Lightning looked ahead at Riku, the officer holding her having a hand on the back of her head. She didn't know what was going to happen now; after all, this was her first time in jail. But Riku was going to solitary confinement because of her. Even if it was his actions, he was in jail in the first place because of her. She'd feel responsible no matter what he said.

Lightning grunted roughly when she too was tackled by an officer, who promptly gripped her wrists and warned her not to do anything funny. "Don't try to burn me, witch," the officer growled. As if my actions before were uncalled for, she thought in anger.

Crap, Lightning thought instantly. So the guards finally paid attention to the security cameras and saw trouble. She took her hand away from Riku's arm, though she noticed that he still had a hold on hers. Both of them were guilty right now, so she had no doubt they'd both be punished.

Lightning stumbled a step behind Riku, regaining her balance more quickly since he didn't yank her nearly as harshly as Zane did a minute ago. Even so, she automatically lifted a hand and set it on Riku's arm for balance as she looked at the cursing bully. He got what he deserved.

Lightning grunted in disgust, briefly squeezing her eyes shut. You pig... She was determined to get out of this without magic, just because she feared she'd be punished worse of she did use it. But she already did in entering another cell, so that squashed that argument. Just a little fire magic. He won't know what hit him. She tightened her grasp on the arm that was over her chest, summoning the heat to her hand. It wouldn't burn her, but it'd definitely burn him.

Lightning opened her eyes, glaring even if she couldn't see Zane. Oh he was going to regret this... She lifted both her arms, setting one hand on the arm that was across her chest and the other that was gripping the back of her head. She wasn't sure what good that was going to do, but she was determined not to use magic against him or summon her Keyblade.

Lightning sharply cried out at the yank, her eyes automatically squeezing shut as Zane pulled her back. The shock of the pain made her completely lose her grip on Riku's shirt, and it made her lose her footing as well. Unfortunate for her, that meant that she found her foundation again by leaning back into the very person who caused this mess in the first place.

"No," Lightning mumbled to herself. Of course teleporting wouldn't work; there were security cameras everywhere and leaving the cell definitely wasn't a good idea. She lifted a hand and gripped Riku's shirt tightly, furrowing her eyebrows as she glared at his chest. There were cameras...There was no way to get out of this.

Light shoved Riku back a step when his gaze grew angry, her back to Zane as she stood in front of Riku. She was intelligent; she had to come up with something to keep him from being whisked away. "Teleport," she thought suddenly. Riku could teleport right out of this cell and get cleaned up. There was nothing to prohibit him from casting a spell like that...

"Shut up, stupid," Lightning said, setting her hands on Riku's arms to help him to his feet as she also rose. There had to be a way to cover this up. Maybe if he just sat on his hands when the guards came around, they wouldn't know it was him. It was the only thing she could think about right now.

Lightning paused, turning her head to look at Riku in anger. She lifted a hand and tapped him on the cheek, that tap actually a tiny slap. "Stupid," she scolded, glaring into his eyes. What was he thinking, attacking Zane like that?

Lightning opened her eyes, not looking at Riku as she focused on the problem at hand. They had to get the blood off his hands... She looked from her own clothing to Riku's, but that wasn't going to work. She then looked at Zane. Part of his shirt would work. She reached towards him to tear his shirt, ignoring everything else but the solution to this problem.

Light lowered her gaze to Riku's hands, and she glanced behind her for any signs of guards as she set her hands over his. She shut her eyes and focused on a Cure spell, which would at least take away the pain and whatever cuts and bruises he formed when he was punching Zane. Now what could she use to clean his hands...?

Light blinked, surprised she actually got through to Riku. She thought maybe it was a lost cause...Nevertheless, she released him and moved over to his side, lifting a hand and rubbing off the blood with her blue, fingerless gloves. The guards hadn't come yet; if they got Riku cleaned up before then, maybe he wouldn't be punished for this...

Lightning fell onto her side when Riku shook her off, but she wasn't about to give up. She quickly rose again, this time wrapping her arms over his shoulders and holding more tightly around his neck. She'd cut off his air supply if that was what would get him to calm down. "Stop it!" she hissed in his ear, fighting to keep her grip with every punch he made. "If you do this...we'll be separated." That was the last thing Riku wanted, right?
