  1. Its not a matter of being mean, its a matter of consistancy. There are certain rules to writing and character development that make a great story. The first of these rules is consistancy. Without this, what is concieved in your mind as an epic journey, becomes nothing short of bad fanfiction rather than art. Tetsuya Nomura is an world renowned story teller. This is one of his favorite series' under his belt and he isnt going to mess it up with plot twists that dont make sense.
  2. Defying all the rules of basic character development, destroying every fiber of canon in this series wouldnt be an "unexpected surprise" it would be a bad move on the part of the writers. Sora falling to Darkness doesnt make sense, thats not a Nomura Plot Twist, that is bad fanfiction.
  3. So you want Sora to become Tidus? Why not just add Tidus as a party member? Xehanort has returned, and he is more powerful than anything Sora has faced before. He is going to crush the more resilient worlds. Light will fall into darkness. What is the most "Light" location we have encountered in our travels? Disney Castle, "The Cornerstone of Light", will fall to Xehanort while Sora and Riku are undergoing their test. Use your head, Tetsuya Nomura has never been so shallow as to completely defy the character profile he created. To have Sora fall to Darkness, and Riku become light completely defies everything he has established about the charcters thus far, rendering all of the efforts in character development up until this point null and void.
  4. I am not gonna lie, I enjoyed 358/2 Days greatly. It was was a lot of fun, and had a decent story. However, that being said. It isnt actually very relevent the main plot. Where Sora's memories went when Namine took them is a plot point that isnt really necessary to continue the story. While the game is good as a stand alone title. It is not a necessary purchase if you are playing Kingdom Hearts for the story. Coded was a rehash game designed purely to give diehard fans something to do on their cellphones that resembled Kingdom Hearts. It isnt a necessary part of the series, nor was it intended to be. Coded was purely created as a timekiller. Re:Coded is just an upgraded version of that game for anyone who absolutly has to have everything with the title logo on it, but their phone couldnt get it, either due to performance issues or region locks. My Verdict: 358/2 Days: If you are looking for a fun game to play with a familiar world to play in, buy it, love it, share it. If you are just looking for relevent plotpoints dont waste your money. Re:Coded: There is no reason to purchase this game unless you are a rabid KH addict that can't survive without haveing the essence of Sora injected directly into your bloodstream. You are much better off just replaying the original titles while you wait for Dream Drop Distance. If you absolutly have to know what happened, watch the cutscenes on youtube. Even then you are most likely wasting your time as it mostly seems like deleted scenes.
  5. I am willing to place money on the fact that Vanitas delivers the final blow to Xehanort. Tetsuya Nomura has already claimed that he intends to continue the series past the Xehanort saga. This would require a Villain more powerful than Xehanort. We already know Vanitas is going to return, simply because they intend to ressurect Ventus. And since one can not exist without the other, reviving Ventus will revive Vanitas. Since Vanitas is the only person to date not to fall to Sora's Holy Purge of Anything Even Remotely Disgruntled, he is currently the only viable option. I expect Vanitas will deliver the final blow to Xehanort in an attempt to add Xehanort's power to his own. How he will accomplish this I dont know yet. He may pose as a party member for a while, or maybe he will refuse with Ventus and become the dominant personality, or maybe he will just dive from the rafters and kill steal like a pro. Actually, to be honest I like the Ventus theory the most. But, maybe he will refuse with Ventus, leaving Ven as the dominant personality, Ven will make the final blow, and then Vanitas will slowly take him over from the inside between games o.o
  6. This topic is kind of silly. There are several rather rediculous ideas floating around in this thread I will try my best to address each one logically. 1/ Sora should use the Keytip when he attacks This concept alone doesnt make much sense. The Keytip is purely ornamental, it is meant to look pretty not to add power to the weapon. If Sora were to hit someone with that part of the weapon it would likely either snap off or get stuck in his opponent, therefore kind of silly when placed in context of his combo based fighting style. 2/ Sora's attacks dont bounce back because it would be too difficult of a battle animation. I am not entirely sure that Heartless are completely solid. They are physical manifestations of darkness. 3/ The games are getting darker as they go on. Someone said earlier, and I am too lazy to go back and look for a name, that they arent getting darker they are getting more mature. I believe this to be a more accurate conclusion. The KH games have always been really dark even KH1 was jet black if you read the Ansem reports. But one thing I have noticed is Nomura tugging at the ropes as Disney is slowly loosening their grip on the series. So, I expect that as disney slowly backs off we will see Sora getting older and gaining abilities more similar to and on par with the FF characters. 4/ KH needs blood Final Fantasy doesnt even have blood majority of the time, why would Final Fantasy Junior have it? 5/ Sora is going to fall to darkness. *sigh* This is the most asinine notion I have heard since fan girls decided Sora and Riku were a homosexual pairing. Sora is Light. That is his character. He is the purest definition of the word Paladin. He has been on a near genocidal rampage against anything even remotely unkind. This is the reason why Riku didnt return to his friend's side after escaping the realm of darkness. He didnt think he could look Sora in the eye after having weilded the Darkness. Sora would sh*t balls of light if Disney would allow a bathroom scene. It has been pointed out to me that Sora now wears Vanitas' colors and has an X on his outfit. Allow me to dismiss this notion with a simple finger point in the direction of his other costumes. Sora has ALWAYS worn black and red. And if you look at his KH2 outfit I have counted no less than 6 Xs on there and I know there are more. Sora's new outfit is a combination of his KH1 and KH2 outfits for the sake of asthetic pleasure.
  7. Mysterious_Figure_Vanitas asked: I really like this theory. And it's actually brilliant. If No Heart was forced onto the throne of the Twilight Dragon, then why did No Heart fight Sora and Riku? Do you think he was forced? And for that matter, if Terra was thrown out of his own body, what would become of him? I used to think that Xehanort split himself apart, so that the power acquired by the pieces would return to the whole, making Xehanort even stronger than in BBS. I just don't understand how Xehanort got his memory back enough to use his Keyblade, and why he forgot again in the first two Kingdom Hearts games. 1/ If you go back and look at the final fight of KH2 you can see than NoHeart is chained down all except his sword arm. Sora and Riku, believing he was part of Xemnas, just started swinging. Wouldn't you fight back too in that position? 2/ Terra is most likely floating around looking for a home, much like Ventus at the end of BBS. He will more than likely appear to Riku in DDD or Ventus in BBSv2 3/ As for the question of Xehanort's memories. Amnesia can be cured by any number of external stimulae. So how he got it back is irrelevent. It may have just returned to him after a while. As for the Keyblade. That goes back to what I said about Xehanort no longer haveing concious control after being split. The simplest answer is they didnt use a keyblade because the part of them that was necessary to weild it was not there. This could explain why Ansem and Xemnas can't use a Keyblade but NoHeart can.
  8. The theory has a new home. I'll copy your question and answer it there.
  9. By definition in BBS an Unversed is a manefestation of ones thoughts. A Sentiment is an advanced form of an Unversed created when ones thoughts left behind after they are lost, are so strong that they form a concious being. Not every person that falls would create a Sentiment, just like not all Nobodies keep a human form. But this is the most logical explanation for the placement of ones conciousness after being Split. It also would explain why the Sentiments are so much stronger than the originals.
  10. 1. I must have missed that report if you know the number I will go back and read it and see how it fits in and/or changes my theory. 4. Xemnas doesnt appear to have too many memories specific to Terra that I remember. Also neither heart is in there, that is why Ansem (he heartless) exists. Terra is likely a little ball of light looking for a home, similar to Ventus at the end of BBS when he was looking for Sora
  11. I am not saying my theory is 100% correct. But there is a lot of evidence to support it. Infact most of this info comes from the Ansem reports hidden throughout the series. Like I said though it is a theory. Though I will do my best to answer your points to the best of my knowledge. I am numbering them to address each point not to sound like a know-it-all prick, so sorry in advance if it makes it seem ruder than is my intent.1/ There is no mention of a Soul in KH beyond Riku's sword's name. It is pretty much assumed that the "Heart" and "soul" are synonymous in this series. 2/ You are correct in stating that we do not know if he regained his memory or not. However the fact that he manifested a keyblade stands in point to be good evidence that he did. So at least for this theory I will assume he did. 3/ We dont know this for sure, but all three, Ansem Xemnas and Xehanort, all seemed to have different goals in mind which is how I reached this conclusion. Also there was a lot of focus on Kingdom Hearts by Ansem and Xemnas, an entity that Xehanort was able to summon with a Single hand to use as a backdrop in BBS.which says 1 of 2 things. Either Xehanort is unbelievably more powerfull than his counterparts, or Kingdom Hearts was a distraction to provoke Sora's rage. 4/ Terra WAS in him as of the end of BBS. We have no evidence of that now. And a master of darkness like Master Xehanort doesnt become a heartless unintentionally, My theory is that this was done in an attempt to rid himself of Terra. I am guessing Terra conciousness is floating around somewhere now. It will probably appear, either to Riku in DDD or Ventus in BBSv2. 5/ By the first heartless I did mean the first heartless that was the start of the swarm that overran the worlds. I am sure there have been scattered appearance here and there throughout time, but this one was the first of the heartless essential to the plot. I hope this helped clarify a little about what I meant. I have thought this out pretty thoroughly so I am happy to answer any other questions about my theory http://kh13.com/forum/public/style_emoticons/default/happy.png
  12. I just reposted that as a separate topic
  13. The scene at the end of the trailer takes place before KH1. Just before Radiant Garden fell. Ansem and Xehanort had been researching the Darkness when an accident in the lab created the first of the heartless. I have a theory that I have been meaning to express for a while and just havent had the motivation to write it out. If they are strong enough, when a person falls to darkness their being is split into 3 parts. The Heart, the Body, and the Mind. Respectively: Heart -> Heartless Body -> Nobody Mind -> Lingering Sentiment (An advanced form of an Unversed) Ansem had taken Xehanort as his apprentice and they researched the darkness together. When one of their experiments cause the creation of the first Heartless, they poured themselves even deeper into their research. Xehanort saw this as an opportunity, He believed that if the peices could be split, then they could most likely be rejoined by way of the keyblade. If he could manage to split himself, he could rid himself of Terra's Heart. Then all he would have to do is gather himself back together and he would have complete control of his new form. He knew that at least Terra had passed on his Keyblade to another weilder. If he could coerce that weilder into defeating his three parts they would rejoin once again free of Terra. What we most likely just saw in the trailer was Xehanort's experiments on "more powerful" people. He had to be sure that he could maintain his awareness when he was split. So he used his lab assistants as guinea pigs. These people eventually became the innermost members of the Organization. Whether he did it himself or he was struck down by one of the heartless he had created, I dont know, but I am sure we will find out soon enough. Xehanort's being was split. The Heartless it created banished Ansem the wise from the world and took up his identity as his own as a kick in the face to his old Master. The new "Ansem" plunged Radiant Garden into darkness which in turn began the heartless plague that began devouring worlds. The few stronger residents eventually became the remaining members of the Organization. Xehanort's plan had been set in motion. He no longer had control of his split self, but he knew that sooner or later "Terra's Protege' " would come in keyblade in hand to defeat the cause of the darkness. He found the boy, seeped him in darkness in an attempt to make him into his puppet. But then another appeared, Sora. Sora played his part beautifully, He struck down Ansem without a second thought. The first piece. The Heart. But Xehanort wasn't done. The Organization proceeded to provoke "The Keyblade's Chosen" once more. And of course, like the blockheaded puppet that he is, Sora raced off to "destroy the darkness" once more. Sora and Riku destroyed the Organization one by one, barrelling their way towards Xemnas. Xemnas had already captured his "Sentiment" and strapped him to a throne on the head of the Twilight Dragon. Sora and Riku struck down NoHeart without even knowing what it was. The second part. The Mind. Eventually they confronted Xemnas and destroyed him as well. The Third piece returned to the Whole. The Body. Master Xehanort would return. Frankly the depth of of his planning is astounding. So now Master Xehanort has returned, and free of the constraints that held him back (Terra). Yen Sid has noticed the return of his old colleague and has called Sora and Riku for proper instruction in the use of a keyblade, because as they are, they can not defeat Xehanort. Which brings us to Dream Drop Distance.
  14. wasnt this the poll of the day like 2 days ago?
  15. How many times are we going to do this poll?

  17. Neku's Story will not take place in a separate world. Instead he will be a part of the new districts in Traverse Town. I would imagine that Districts 4 and 5 will have several references to Shibuya, probably CAT grafitti. The thing that made TWEWY awesome was not Shibuya, but the fact that they were existing in a parallel Shibuya. So in theory the Reaper Game can be played in any city. In this case Traverse Town.
  18. According to the Ansem reports, Ansem had been researching the darkness for Several years before creating the first heartless. His apprentice, Xehanort, worked alongside him in this effort before eventually trapping Ansem in the realm of darkness and assuming his identity. BBS shows that most of the organization's originals were either working with or near Ansem. It is more than likely that close to a decade had passed before Xehanort became a heartless. And plunged Radiant Garden into darkness.
  19. Could he even be beaten without a combo puck?
  20. This series is known for unbelievably hard bosses. So I think Taboo Minamimoto would be a perfect choice. Not to mention I'd just like to see him in 3D lol
  21. So is anyone else really hoping that Taboo Sho Minamimoto is one of the hidden bosses in this game? Could they even beat him without a Combo Puck?
  22. Except you forget one thing. Mickey was present for the events of BBS. He has the memories already. I am usually the first to defend these titles because of what they add to the story, but Re:coded was not necessary to the series.
  23. No they are not the same game. Dream Drop Distance will be a 3DS title prepareing Sora, Riku, and Kairi for whatever role they will play in KH3. I believe that it will encompass saving at least one if not all of the BBS characters. BBSv2 will be a PSP/Vita title that prepares the Aqua, Terra, and Ventus for THEIR role in KH3. It will more than likely include whichever character is saved during Dream Drop Distance saving the other 2. (Most likely Ventus, since the game involves a story based around sleep) Also I am guessing it will also encompass the the return of Vanitas.
  24. Coded, was a recap game thrown together as a gimmick on a cellphone. Re:coded was an attempt to entertain the hardcore fans who will buy anything with the logo on it, but didnt happen to be in Japan for the mobile release. While it contained a couple new cutscenes, it was in no way essential to the series.
  25. I have no desire whatsoever to enter Dumbo's world if it is asleep. Those pink elephants scarred me as a kid I dont need that again o.o
