  1. (As quick note, while Sanya was near the tower, she wasn't the one who crashed into it) Iron "Knock knock..." His pale eyes only contrasted with his crimson eyes as the man who had crashed into the tower looked across the ruins of rocks and bricks at the group below. He looked over to see the girl who had become ash. Then there was the one who had summoned the strange creatures. These weren't the people he was used to on this mountain. "Looks like I came in too fast..." He laughed to himself as he looked over the ruins of his tower. This was the place he had considered his home after the others stated he was no longer welcome at the mountain's peak. The moment he felt the presence of others near his home tower, he rushed back from the other side of the world where he was presently engaged in destroying a merchant city for no real reason. This was the Exile Kamyn. The one shunned by the others. Too taken by his own madness to be of any true use. Vaefrius. Now he was going to be a complication on both sides. "You!" He called down to Iron team. "What are ya doing at my home you pigs? You think you can waltz right and up take someone else's home for your own?" He raised his fist.... Vaefrius was a master of momentum. Any force he could slow or speed up at will. A coin could be given the force of a thousand boulders, and a bullet could be a feather. "You people have no respect for property! That makes me so angry!" He smashed his hand into the ground, obliterating the rest of his tower, and killing all the trees in the area in an instant as he formed a crater around himself, just him, Sanya, and the Iron team. "Three seconds." He started walking towards Iron team, then running, then moving at a speed no human could. "Three seconds to give me an excuse I like before I pound you all into dust!" Kamyn Adriev grimaced. He hadn't expected Vaefrius to come back. He turned to his peers. "I find your answers agreeable enough. Now we face another issue. Vaefrius has returned. He will almost certainly kill their Iron team, but we must end his life before he becomes a bother on any of our other plans. Which of you all wish to go oversee his fight? We can until he finishes off their Iron team and then combine our strength to end him. So who wishes to fight today?" Platinum The landslide slowed due to the smaller bounders, but there was still the need to stop the smaller and still fast-moving rocks rushing towards them that threatened to break the wall is one final force didn't fully end their momentum. They would have the move fast too, the main group of them were bearing down on Platinum team and the remains of that shack that instant.... Silver a voice that seem to come from everywhere in the room spoke out to Tristan. "State name and credentials for admittance into the records room."
  2. Iron team was trying to climb a cliff when it was revealed the cliff was actually a giant rock golem. They fought and defeated it, but then the Kamyn Efenton appeared, fought with them a bit, and then let them continue up the rest of the mountain. The remnants of the cliff led up to a giant black tower. While heading to the tower, a mysterious figure hit the tower and broke off the upper half, sending it crashing towards them.
  3. Silver The trapdoor unlocked above them, and the gate at the end of the tunnel slowly grinded open. On the other end was a huge metallic room that was entirely white. There was a single door at the other end of the huge room, but it seemed to have no handle. The moment the gate opened some sort of magical lighting appeared all around the room. Platinum As the group continued to resupply and talk a rumbling started further up the mountain. It got louder... and louder. Soon it became evident that is was coming closer. Before anyone could realized what was going on a huge boulder slammed into the shack knocking almost every member to the ground, but luckily hitting one of the shack's supports and sliding off in another direction. The utter destruction of the shack that it had caused though, allowed the group to see up the mountain, where a huge wave of rocks and dirt was flying down towards them. In the very front were 4 gigantic boulder, rocketing down the mountain at them. Within 5 seconds they would all be crushed to death if they didn't act immediately.... Iron As they continued the trek up the rocks, the tower before the Iron team was d suddenly hit by a mysterious figure at a ridiculous speed. The top of the tower broke apart, and came tumbling down the mountain, down the cliff... Several hundred pounds of brick and stone... Coming right at everyone in Iron. Kamyn Adriev smiled at Kinzoku's choice as he stood looking over the projections in his white room. He noted the presence of some of the other Kamyn as he watched. "Tell me..." he asked the dieties of his who were not currently engaged with the humans. "Do you think this is the right course, to continue to play with them and let them gain some more ground? Some of them certainly seem to have more strength and conviction than I had anticipated." He turned back towards Girver, Efenton and Vortimer. "I have come to realize that not all of you are as dedicated to our cause as I want to believe. So speak your truths now, are you prepared to continue doing what needs to be done with these pieces of filth before they become too much of a threat? To us and themselves."
  4. Silver As the dark tunnel underneath the house became a little more illuminated as their adjusted, it became clear there wasn't much around the remaining members of Silver team besides the trap door above them and a small continuation of the tunnel leading to a large wooden gate. The trapdoor had luckily kept in one piece even after the explosion above was heard. Then another sound was heard, like a sort of locking mechanism that came from the trapdoor. "What's the phrase you people like use?" Adriev's voice echoed from the other side of the tunnel. "Out of the frying pan... and into the fire? It seems this is a step further you all have found yourself in. Out of the fire and into... well..." he motioned around the dark tunnel he and most of Silver team were in. "here." He knocked against the wooden gate on the other side of the darkened tunnel. "It looks old, but assure this gate is reinforced several times on the other side. That trapdoor? I made sure to give it the same treatment. Neither will open by anyone's hand but my own." He slowly walked towards Tristan, Kinzoku, and Jasper. "You came here because you're such moral warriors, here to fight the evil Kamyn, right? You humans are always so... black and white. You have no room to judge our actions. You just left your own comrade to die." Adriev now stood mere feet from the group. He picked up one of the jugs of kerosene and brought out a lit match, waving it around carelessly as he spoke. "Though I'm about to make you prove how humans will make the same kind of choices if they were in our situation." He dropped the kerosene and the match. As the kerosene spilled out, it only just missed the match, staying unlit. Adriev showed a projection of a few people in a small shack. "I'm sure these people are familiar to you. This is the Platinum team right? They seem weary, looking to get some resting in?" The projection disappeared and a small magical containing orb appeared in Adriev's hand. "This is the key to you leaving this tunnel. Channel any amount of magic in here, and both the trapdoor and gate behind me are unlocked." He dropped the orb at his feet and began walking away. "Oh, but it will also trigger a landslide just further up the mountain from Platinum team. So the question, dear humans, is do you wish to starve to death in this place, or do you trust your comrades to save themselves from your wrath?" He walked a little further, before he seemed to evaporate with a last few words. "Have fun." Iron As Emert prepared to climb the rocky remains of the golem and cliff, he may have noticed then the black tower that sat at the top. It was three stories tall, and looked ancient, but it may be a place to regroup and plan the next move.... not to mention what secrets may lie within. It was time to finish the climb and start the next step of their journey.
  5. Silver Robert then began to take in his surroundings... It looked to be a bedroom, or at least there was a small futon in the corner. The rest looked like a supply area. There were some building supplies and tools, and some lanterns, and... a doezn or so jugs of kerosene. The fire hadn't reached this room as badly as it had the other, but it was creeping in very quickly. On the floor was the answer the group had been looking for, though; a trap door that led somewhere below. It was bolted shut, but there was not other way out, they had to tear it open one way or another, or else in a few seconds the fire would reach the kerosene supply and they would all be finished....
  6. Sounds great! You're accepted, and I'm gonna put you in the Silver team as they are the lowest population. Given how early it is, I'll just put your character in as if he's been with the team all throughout so far. Currently Silver team has entered the gate, and located a house. They all ventured inside and accidentally activated a trap which sealed the house and set it on fire. Now they are trying to found another way out within the house. Feel free to start posting immediately. Accepted. Just be sure not to over-play the power of this other being and it should be fine. We've got two teams that you can pick from that have low populations- Gold and Iron. Take your pick. Lulls happen, unfortunately. From the posts I've seen it seems to be mostly people being very busy, but looks like we're getting back into the swing of things now.
  7. Should be alright, I should be able to pull of adding them in, especially considering we're still fairly early.
  8. We seem to be at a lull right now, so I figured I'd put out a quick catch-up post to explain where every group is right now. Silver Team- Trapped in a house that's been sealed by a barrier and set on fire. They need to get through the one door in the door to the other room and find another way out. Gold Team- Entered a cave on the way up and encountered Dante, one of the Kamyn. They are currently speaking with him, but things seem destined to take a dark turn very soon. Iron Team- After beating a rock golem and having a quick scuffle with the Kamyn Efenton, Efenton opened up a gap between them and the path ahead. They are now ready to proceed forward onto their next challenge... Platinum Team- They faced the Kamyn Vortimer and after a tough battle they were allowed to pass. Now they are resupplying in a nearby shack, and about to re-embark on their climb. As always, if there are any questions, critiques, or requests, don't hesitate to message me or post here!
  9. ((As Josh said a bit up the page, Silver, the gaps already filled in)) Kamyn Adriev turned his eyes to Vortimer. "I intend to play with most of them a little while longer." He then brought his gaze towards the projection of the Silver Team. The fires continued to burn brighter inside the house, and Adriev stared down at the group, and the burning door to the house's single other room. "A few, however, may perish a bit early." Gold Adriev's voice entered Dante's mind. "Do not toy with them for so long with nothing but words. We wouldn't want our guests to get bored with simple debate would we?"
  10. Silver Kinzoku smoothed out the letter and read it... You fools came looking for it, didn't you? You first oust me and then you wish to take everything from me? You shall never have it, though. I destroyed the moment I left your little enclave. You fancy yourselves gods but look who's helpness now! I'm sure you all have many more, but you don't know how happy it makes me to take at least one thing and you fools be unable to stop me. Twenty years! Twenty damn years I was with you. I understood you and I sympathized. You all are walking a path you can never return from, though, and if you can't listen to reason and are so intent on ridding yourself of old friends then I shall do the same. I will never let you hunt me down and kill me like you did the first one who left. Here it ends. That little instruction, to make sure everyone was in the house, I can't believe you must of fallen for it. The envelope is a trigger, and well... you'll see you Kamyn bastards. You'll see very soon. -Ventro Outside the house a strange sound was heard. It was the sound of a magical barrier being put up. Everywhere around the house. Then, from the fireplace, came several spouts of flame, veering out towards Silver team and the walls and floors of the house. Soon everything was on fire, and getting hotter by the moment. Silver team had to find a way out, and fast. Kamyn Adriev smiled as he looked down at the house, now showing signs of a small fire within. "Who knew..." he reached to a table beside and picked something up. "Who knew your little last ditch attempt to kill us would come in handy one day..." He peered into the empty sockets of the skull he held. "Ventro."
  11. For the moment consider that he's sort of silently traveling with you. If it goes a while without any input then we'll just consider him removed.
  12. ((Just remember to keep some of your posting spaced out. On my end I'll be sure to keep posting more consistently from here on out.)) Platinum Vortimer had grabbed and ridden away with the orb, but not after Fairy's interaction with it had yielded some results. The moment she touched it a projection appeared above it, showing a huge schematic for some sort of structure. It was gigantic from the looks of it, with many rooms and a huge chamber in the center of it's structure. It looked neither like a building nor a natural formation. It was long and oddly shaped. Once Vortimer held it, though, the projection dissipated and was fully gone as he rode away. A ways further up the mountain the group could see a ramshackle shed with a rotten wooden sign stating "Supplies". Within the shed were various bandages and several jars of preserved fruits. An odd place for a supply shed... but it didn't look dangerous, and would make a good resting point after the recent battle to resupply and get their bearings. Silver (Sorry about not updating sooner for you guys, I scanned through posts the last time to see who was moving the plot further to update it and missed several of your key posts, won't happen again.)) As Sanya breathed in all she could smell was... ash. Looking around the house, Kinzoku would only have been able to note how barren it looked. There were two rooms; the one she was in with a kitchen and a small table, as well as a fireplace on the wall to her right and another room through an archway on the other end of the room she stood in. The Fireplace was filled with ash, but still seemed to be burning unnaturally somehow. It was the envelope on the table, however, that was the most curious thing abut the room. The envelope was crimson colored, with various magical symbols on it. Written in very imperfect handwriting, aged several decades by the looks of it, was just the phrase "Ensure nobody is outside house when opening." Kiekre's legacy was about to be discovered. Iron Adriev's voice reached Efenton as he stood looking at the Iron team. "Do not be so quick to stop these fools. They have entered our domain and their fate is sealed already. It is rare that we get such fascinating subject to toy with, so if they intrigue you, feel free to allow them to pass. this is only the beginning my son." Gold More and more little lights seemed to shine fro within the cave. Little beacons in the darkness. What were they, and why were they here? There was only one way for Gold team to find out.
  13. Iron The Golem cried out as Alice's flames struck it's face. As it moved it's hand shield it's eyes it's leg shattered from Emert's attack. Then there was the Doctor's spear strike. As it's conciousness wavered, it made it's concluding move. It began to tumble forward without balance or focus, but it moved to land directly on Emert in it's fall, and as it fell it brought both it's hands over the Doctor, enclosing him as it fell so that it might try to take both Emert and the Doctor with it. The ground drew closer and closer... Then... Crash.
  14. While I don't want to get too offhand, I do want to say that I've got a 360, PS3, WiiU, PS4, and PC for modern consoles to throw my hat into the ring.
  15. Good times.
  16. Iron As Alice on her dragon and the Doctor on his Ciful flew up near the cliff, the entire terrain seemed to buckle. As both the flying animals began to ascend the sheer slope, the cliff itself came out to meet them. A huge moving slab of rock the entire height of the cliff tore out of the rocks themselves. Two hands. The first came on the Doctor's Ciful, the second made a quick motion to swat Alice's dragon out of the air. As the hands moved, the rest of the rocks that lay between them pushed out of the cliff more, revealing the full form of the being they faced. This wasn't just a cliff. It was a 50 foot tall rock golem. Silver The house's front door groaned open. The smoke in the chimney was one thing but up close it became more obvious how old the house was. Ivy grew around the edges and the door was more battered than it appeared from a ways off. With the door opened, though, in the darkness of the house, a small climmering light could be seen. Calling to the Silver team... Beckoning.
  17. Well, the first introduction to the trials is up. I do hope these get as... fun as the Experiment's.
  18. Time was up. The magical locks on each gate activated and the gates began to groan as they started to close again. It was time to go in. Iron On the other side of the gate was an overgrown path that barely got anywhere before it transitioned to huge jagged rocks. The entire terrain became rocky as it went further into the Evraius territory, until finally it became a sheer rocky cliff. Rock walls flanked both sides of the path, too, so there was no way around it. A rocky cliff this far down a mountain was unusual... there was obviously something else at play here, but climbing the rocky path cliff was the only way up for the Iron team, and it was about 50 feet of vertical distance. It was time to get climbing. The Iron team was not alone here though. Something else was present at these cliffs. It was watching them... waiting. It was hidden from them for now. But not for long. Gold The path on the other side of the gate from Gold team was gravel, and unworn or disturbed; as if someone had just recently laid it for them. It extended into a light forest, but not for long. Eventually it led to a mouth of a cave, nothing could be seen on the inside without venturing in yourself, and there didn't seem to be another way around as the terrain broke away in jagged shifts to the left and right of the path in an un-traversable manner. Someone wanted Gold team to venture inside... and they made sure the environment reflected that. Something glinted from within the cave; a dance of light in the darkness. There was only one way to find out what lay within... Silver There was no noticeable road on the other side of the gate from Silver team, but it was already clear where their next destination was; there was a house a little ways up the mountain's incline. Smoke was rising from the chimney. On the other side of the gate there was no noticeable obstruction to keep the team's members from staying away from the house, but there was a faint but noticable trace of magic, specifically barrier-type. Something had sealed this area of the mountain. Someone really wanted them to go towards the house. Maybe an old grandmother lived there. Platinum There was a beaten dirt path that lead from the gate standing before Platinum team toward a clearing a little ways up. Much of Evraius was forested but the clearing looked perfectly circular and cleared away of any obstructions. There wasn't even grass; the entire clearing was all dirt. In the center was an orb. It seems that some sort of magic was kept within it that has cleared all the forest and life around it. It beckoned with it's dim glow to the members of platinum team... Kamyn Adriev smiled as he admired his work. It had been so long since anyone had dared try to climb Evraius, he couldn't help but feel a little like a child in a candy store. "Dante..." he spoke without turning to his peer. "I suspect you know which of these I have built for your enjoyment? Have all the fun you wish, but don't be too quick about ending their lives, I wish to savor this a little bit." He then shifted his eyes toward Vortimer. "As you can see, we seem to have been a little careless about disposing of the memory orb the last wizard to try and climb our mountain left here. I doubt it is of great importance, but if you wish to create a trial, I would suggest you create one for this 'Platinum team'. Keep them from gaining the orb too easily and see if you can gauge their skill levels. He glanced around his group once more. "Any other suggestions as to our guests?" Then Adriev turned back to the four projections. This was going to be the most fun he'd had in years.
  19. That's totally fine Ferro. As for the everyone here in general, I gave about a 1-day grace period for everyone to get their character's settled in, but I do want to say that we're going to be moving a bit faster once I introduce the first... challenges for every group in about 20 minutes or so.
  20. I gave an extended period at the beginning so everyone can get their character introduced. It'll be moving along the main section soon though.
  21. Hey everyone. Sorry that I wasn't around to more directly address your comments yesterday. I was far busier than I had been anticipating, so instead of having most of the night to create and tweak the initial bit of the RP, I had only about 30 minutes to do so. Luckily I'm open for the entirety of today to keep things moving smoothly and help to changes some aspects. Firstly, I've already seen that some people feeling a bit hesitant or restrained due to the two-post rule. I wanted to implement that rule due to there being a constant issue with the speed of the RPs that leave some people way behind which at times can be annoying and dismaying if you're trying to keep up. At the same time I don't want people who really enjoy the RP to suffer for it. The huge group we have makes the need for good pacing stronger than ever, but I want everyone to have fun to, so I'll be trying to find a happy medium here. For the moment then the two post rule is upgraded to a three post rule. I'll make the corresponding change in the OP. I'll continue to adjust it and change the rulesets as we go forward so please keep giving feedback and critiques, it's always helpful. Second, I neglected to mention a core bit of my RP style that is also present here; the environments in the RP will be described and setup by me in the RP section. When you move beyond a point where the environment is already set, like opening a door or entering a cave, end you post with a sort of "And then the character saw...." and I'll come in and fill in what happens then. The first instance of the set environments will occur in just a little while, as after all of your introductions, I will set up the fun that lies in wait for you all beyond your respective gates... Okay, I just edited the RP so that both your characters are in Sora's group. To fill the void in Silver Team I also moved Averain from Gold to Silver.
  22. Consider it approved! I don't have a ton of time to be on for the moment, but pick whichever of the two teams they are in for them both to be in and I'll shift the lineup!
  23. See for yourself! Here's the RP: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/75586-evraius-rp/ If you want any team changes, just say so and I'll make some early adjustments!
  24. MDSVeritas posted a topic in Roleplaying
((If you haven't seen what this RP is all about or if you wish to learn more, sign up, or discuss the events, go here: http://kh13.com/forum/topic/75447-evraius-an-original-rp-signups-and-discussion/ ))"We've reached the end of the road.""This is the end of the road.""End o' the line folks.""This is it, everyone."All four captains assigned to escort the expedition teams said variations of the same thing; this was end of the society and civilization as humanity knew it. At four points around the mountain known as Evraius the Teragren captains went over the situation once more to be sure there was no confusion; this was a volunteer mission, there was a high risk of death, and once the climbers passed the Teragen gates onto the premises of Evraius they were no longer under the protection of the Teragren army, and nobody would help but the rest of their team members.Of the 19 volunteers that passed the test to be accepted into the Evraius mission there were now four teams, each of 4 or 5 people. The army had brought them to the four gates that separated Evraius from the Kingdom of Teragren. The strategy was that they may be more effective if they could split the Kamyn attention and thus have a better survival rate. Now the four teams sat at their respective gates, facing the world changing mountain that would be their future; Evraius. The teams were split up in the following ways:Gold Team, made up of Drale Vay, Amber Dolor, Cornelius Bastion, and Sandrew.Silver Team, made up of Sonya Bishop, Kinzoku Mors, Averain, and Jasper SummersIron Team, made up of Alice Thornsberry, Emert Berger, Morgan Etiam Vinctum, and Doctor Pellinore WartropPlatinum Team, made up of Apollo, Lance Alburght, Varion Hain, Fairy, Aya Kozakura, Sairi KozakuraEach of the gates rumbled opened painfully and slowly, with a history of destruction and cruelty beyond their metal bars."Okay." Each captain spoke to the respective teams as they mounted their horses once again and steered back toward the road."You all have 5 minutes to greet your new teammates and enter the gates. The magical locks will automatically close them again after that point. There won't be any returning until you have something substantial to return with." The gist of each captain's parting words were. They had all rehearsed together so the information would be similar for each group. It also helped mask the fear. And then each group was left alone, each with a gate and a beaten dirt path beyond it sitting before them. It was time to start the introductions and get going. It was time to start the climb.Watching every gate through spectral projections, Adriev pondered. He stood in a pure white room with 5 others. After watching the four teams for a few moments he turned to his peers: Efenton, Girver, Dante, and Vortimer. Only one was missing."So..." He spoke slowly, weighing every word. "What shall we do about this?"
  25. Not a bad idea Sora. I personally would hope that people aren't going to waste their two-posts per-update on something under three lines, but I'll throw that in as well. ALSO: While you all wait for the RP thread to go up, I'll let you stew on the group divisions we've got. There are so many climbers I actually divided the force into four groups: Gold team, Silver team, Platinum team, and Iron team. Due to requests, preferences, and a little bit of scheming, there are the preliminary groupings: Platinum Apollo Lance Alburght Varion Hain Fairy Aya Kozakura Iron Alice Thornsberry Emert Berger Morgan Etiam Vinctum Doctor Pellinore Warthrop Silver Ferro Nonkendas Sanya Bishop Sairi Kozakura Kinzoku Mors Jasper Summers Gold Drale Vay Averain Amber Dolor Cornelius Bastion Sandrew
