Next round of acceptances (and they are all acceptances I'm happy to say). Quick note about the AoC. There's been some discussion of the power levels of the abilities not being comparable, but understand that the current plan is there will be a soft "power level" that your ability will have to conform to, so you could, say, only be able to use a small amount of matter to transform into something, or you could only make something really big every few hours, ect... As the RP goes on these "power levels" will increase and I will let everyone know so they can up their attacks and such, but for now, don't worry about any character being OP, as even their powers seem to be, they will be pretty limited initially. Accepted! Looks good, I'll be psyched to design some challenges to put your powers to good use. Nice! You're good to go, looking forward to seeing you in the RP! You're accepted, welcome aboard! Nice idea for an ability, I'll be sure to setup some scenarios to use it. Accepted! Intriguing power, I'll be curious to see how it plays in, but for now I'll think up some potential challenges. I kept the AoC purposefully vague to let people make some interesting things, but the jist is that you can turn matter into something else of a specific type or form, which your power fits into well. See below. I normally wait until a few submissions to start going over them to get a feel for what people are going for. Accepted! Looking forward to roleplaying with you again Hazimie! I like the power idea (it just couldn't be too powerful). The one thing is that for the City, for the purposes of the plot, all the characters are like a normal person would be in the modern day, thus half-Saiyan wouldn't really work as that's derived from DBZ mythos. I like the character! The ability choice may need a little bit of simplification as it seems to come off as more an innate power, and less being able to create things from matter, plus it seems to give him a lot of varied powers within that single ability, which could prove a tiny bit overpowered. Think you could simplify or shift it a bit? Accepted, sounds pretty good. Though, to clarify, his ability is to turn other matter into flame (at least initially)?

So due to some timing concerns for the moment the collaboration RP I spoke have has been pushed back a little bit. But I have some very special news, for while the collaboration RP is off a little ways, I've been developing the concept for my new original RP Skyline, and it's finally ready to get started. It's an idea I've wanted to do for a little while now, that merges the ideas behind my older RPs and newer, more open-ended structure. I'm super excited about it. So uhhh... Hey guys, MDS here, thanks for having a look at my new RP Skyline! If you're strapped for time feel free to just skim this and you can put in a character submission. Otherwise I hope the idea is intriguing to some of you and I've love to have another awesome RP going, so if you think this might suit your interest, please don't be afraid to sign up! Thanks again! -MDS Story Overview 2015, the modern day. Your lives were everything you thought them to be just yesterday. Dreams, aspirations, work, friends. The day-in-day-out routine of modern life. There were things to be counted on every morning you woke up; the place you lived, the people you knew, the person you were. Today that all changed. You didn't wake up in your home, nor your town, nor your country. You woke up in The City, and today your life changed. Skyscrapers dot the landscape in various sizes and shapes, and the crisscross of roads is reminiscent of most of the huge metropolises of the world, but there is something different about The City from any urban area you've ever seen; it's pure white, from the buildings to the roads to the parks, and it's entirely empty. Only a select handful of people appeared in The City this morning, but beyond that there is not a soul in sight. The shops are empty, the buildings abandoned, and the streets eerily quiet. There is however, a dark foreboding in the air, as if something darker and more malevolent lurks just beneath the chalky pavement; waiting. But you arrival here changed not only your surroundings, but you as well. The City is not simply a stagnant husk, for you have the ability to change it. You have been given, or discovered within yourself, an Ability of Creation. In small ways at first, and soon in greater amounts, you can change The City. Perhaps you have the power to morph bits of building and road into weapons, maybe you can change the streets into a vehicle to move around in, possibly you can form keys and badges to unlock hidden areas. Each Ability of Creation will differ and match the person from whom it derives. And not only can you create from the foundation of the city itself, but as you do, you change its very fabric. Where you build colors spring and spread to nearby buildings and sidewalks. And as you complete certain strange challenges spread around the various districts the effects of your actions bring even more life to the white empty world. Bit by bit you can begin to bring The City to life. And as you all wake you receive a strange message that seems to resound from within your mind itself. It is a woman's voice, but there is an odd element about it you can't seem to pinpoint. Something... wrong you sense as her voice seems to whisper in your ear. "Welcome to this place. The City. You have many questions I am sure, and I am sorry to leave you in such a state of mystery, but some things must be discovered with one's own eyes, and this City holds many truths you must discover. You have gained powers unlike any human has ever known; the ability to shift the very foundation of your reality and build anew from it. You must use this power to bring life to this blank metropolis, district by district, overcoming obstacles and coming to understand many harsh realities. I shall be your guide through this place. My name is Q, and I will show you the way. Welcome to The City." Whatever the reason you are in The City, you have the tools and desire to discover it, and oppose the forces that may seek to destroy you. And you shall have people to fight alongside - and possibly against- as well, and together you may discover the nature of The City, your powers, and the reason you were sent here in the first place. Structure Overview Skyline is an open-world roleplay about creation, discover, and companionship. Players will be brought into The City in various groups, and from there can consult a world map (which will be provided and constantly updated in the RP thread) and travel to different districts to overcome challenges there to bring The City to life and discover the truth about both the place itself and about themselves. All throughout several mysterious characters may come into play, slowly unraveling the truth as they interact with the players. Players are free to move to various districts in their groups and contest the various challenges at each area to further the story. They can also switch between groups if two happen to come in contact. Overall, as the City will come to life, the story will come to light. Rules -No over-powered abilities; keep your powers reasonable and in check. They can grows as you all get more powerful, but never so much that you can effortlessly overcome another player. -No taking control of other players -No explicit sexual content. Romance is totally fine. -One character per-player (The point of this rule is to force a player to focus on the actions of a single character so all the characters have a lot of relevance) -Only five posts per-person between every updating post I make (basically any time I post as an NPC or detail a challenge) This is just to make sure we don't have rampant over-posting. -Keep out-of-character chat generally relegated to the Signup/Discussion thread to keep the RP thread mostly on-point. Character Template (Quick note here: get creative with the Ability of Creation, if anything goes too far I'll let you know and you can dial it back, but the more intriguing the better) Name: Ability of Creation: Age: Gender: Appearance: Personality: Background: And with that, I look forward to seeing everyone's submissions! Glad people are exited :lol: . I'll have the signups for it out within a week or so I'd say. Quick note; this upcoming RP is gonna be the first in a while that isn't based on my own idea. Someone who's participated a good deal in my RPs approached me to co-develop an RP, with them supplying the concept and me running the event itself. It's based around an interesting concept, and I'm looking forward to trying it out.

Hey guys, after another of my patented long breaks, I'm back to the site, hopefully for a good bit this time, so just a heads up that my next RP project should get going sometime soonish, and otherwise I'll be seeing everyone around the boards!

And just like that, ladies and gents, it's done! I can't thank you all enough to telling this story with me and coming along for the ride. There were ups and downs, and a lot of awesome and badass moments, and now finally we can draw Evraius to a close. Feel free to add more reunion epilogue stuff, but as of now the RP story has been officially told! I can't wait to see you guys around the forums more and I'll hopefully have another RP ready before too long. Until then, I'll be around this thread for more shenanigans, so have at!

And just like that they left. The greatest heroes of the world's history and they simply walked away. They had come together from all around the globe, each with their own past and personality urging them towards that mountain. And though fire and death and willpower they forced their way through it. To the very end. The world was now able to build. Now able to truly create for itself without fear of any gods or infamous mountains. All because of them. And not a single one stayed to be cheered on for their life time as a hero, they simply returned to what they loved and what they wished. Perhaps that was how it should have been. The legendary Evraius Climbers were not born heroes. Their lives were not measured by their heroic deeds. In this they were perhaps the only people capable of facing the Kamyn; the people who knew more of what they were fighting for than they knew what they were fighting. And so the world progressed. No longer with the shadow of Evraius lingering over them. So what truly happened to those heroes? Those legendary few? They made their own way, for even after the trial that they had endured, there was always more in the world to find. More competition, or love, or hope. There would always be another dawn to wake to, another battle to fight.... another mountain to climb. They need only find the next one and take the first step.

Hey guys, just a note for anyone who hasn't posted or who may want to post again; tomorrow at 2:00pm is the final deadline for epilogue posts to be posted. After that I'll be putting in the official final post.

"Understood." Evra's voice rang in their minds. "I will send the data now. I will also include the information about the Vedik spies and their ruthlessness. It should expose Vedik's ambitious nature and keep them from attemping something so bold again anytime soon. Now that I am without a master I will also put permanent limits on nanomachine usage per-person. This should prevent anyone from reaching Kamyn power level for the rest of my predicted timeline. Also, you need not worry about hiding the reactor. I used some of my nanomachine stores to do it myself. The ultimate unbiased element is to be unknown, and I trust you all enough to not reveal too much about my nature. Sending data now." And in that moment. Everyone learned. About the Evraius. The Kamyn. Adriev. All those who sacrificed themselves and all those who fought until the end to change the world and save it from those who would have killed everything humans had known. The nature of magic was revealed, and thus scientific progress could begin again. No destructive force lingering over humanity, guiding them with fear. Now their path was their own to choose. The commander who had discovered the climbers made his way inside the infirmiry and bowed to climbers. "We know. Everything. That one being, that force that is part of our magic- or nanomachines I suppose seems to have informed the all world of what you've done. Every human in existence now has seen your plight, understood your battle, and empathized with the choices you made. You are... well I suppose you are heroes unlike any who have come before. You've brought a new era of humanity. I have just recieved word that the entirety of the Kingdom of Teragren wishes to extend to you its thanks and offer you whatever you may need from now on." The commander rose and took a deep breath. "So, legendary climbers of Evraius, the only thing I have to ask you is... what will you do now?" ((You all can now transistion into epilogues and close your characters stories!))

Good point! I just edited to give a small time gap for when you all wake up in the care of the soldiers who found you who are tending to your wounds.

Okay guys, let's just chill out. What's done is done. It's always a good idea to err on the side of caution with using high-powered attacks and thinking about what makes sense, but honestly it doesn't matter much now. You all have been excellent RPers, and now we've got one last bit that needs doing before the end of the RP. Get those epilogues ready!

(Whew, finally got back around here after some unfortunatley ill-timed computer-breaking-down-shenanigans, let's wrap this shiz up with a nice bow) A group of soldiers made their way gingerly over the decimated warped metal that remained of the Evraius. They walked over and saw the close-up view of the devestation that had been cause. A single soldier stepped forward- his uniform designating him as a commander. "Those.... those were Kamyn. You... tore open Evraius and killed the Kamyn. My... my god. They've done it." The commander knelt before the few survivors. His soldiers followed suit, and then the entire crowd around the ship was kneeling at the climbers. The god-slayers. The saviours of humanity. When they next realized it all the sirviving climbers were in a small infirmiry at a guard post near the locations of Evraius. Several doctors were looking over them and tending to their wounds. They were safe, and they could heal now... As this was happening, a single voice rang out in the mind of every remaining climber. It was Evra's voice. the AI had since disappeared from physicial space, but the reactor was still running, and he was still alive. "I have one last question for you survivors... what shall I do now? I have several choices. I may shut down my reactor, ending my life and ceasing all nanomachine activities for decades, I may simply lie dormant and let humanity continue along without the Kamyn's presence and still using their "magic", or I may send out a neural signals to all nanomachines encoded with all you have learned on your journey, giving the knowledge of the nature of the Kamyn and magic to all the people here." The choice was theirs. "This is... you battle is won. What world do you want to create now?"

The crowd gathered in on the wreckage; frightened but curious. Despair and hope intermixing in everyone's minds. Evra looked around and immediately felt all their pain. "Climbers...." He wasn't even sure what emotion he was expressing as he spoke. "Finish this..."

C'mon everyone, epic conclusions ain't gonna write themselves!

A crowd began to gather at the edge of the ship's ruin. Nearby a broken spot of land lay where the great Evraius mount once sat. The crash had gathered people of from all around to this spot. They dared not venture near the battleground in the center of the huge battered metallic seed ship, but they watched with hesitation... and fear. The Kamyn.... killing so many of the climbers before their eyes. Their numbers grew as they watched on silently. Evra face was agape. He watched, and as he did the emotions of all those around the world reached him. And he felt it. In every blow struck. In every life snuffed out. The intensity of the nanomachine use around him flooded his own mind with the emotions attached to those machines. And he felt every death. Every sacrifice. How many had climbed this mountain? How many set off only days ago bright-eyed and anxious to change the world? And now those who contested the gods could be counted on one's hands. "This isn't..." Evra stuttered... words were... never this difficult. "This isn't how it should be. I... cannot find any ability to stay impartial. Not with this pain. Not with this hurt." In these last moments of the climb, Evra was filled with the memories of every climber and Kamyn left alive. The treacherous journey they took to get here. Friendship. Love. Betrayal. All of that, and for what? Would it truly amount to nothing? Would these new gods win and simply begin a new rule? And for the first time in his entire life, Evra, truly made his own choice. "I will give you whatever power remains in my reactor, climbers.... please... please end this. Stop this cycle. Stop this..." He had seen too much. Endless cycles of his masters destroying lives and happiness. No more, though. He would help to break the cycle of Evraius, or he would die trying. The reactor speed up it's motion, and nanomachines flowed from it. It seemed to bring Evra pain to force the nanomachines from going towards the Kamyn as they were programmed to, but he did his best. It was his hope, at least, that it would be enough.... It was all he had.... It was all humanity had anymore. These people... these few... it was all that was left of hope for the future.

Oh jeez, we haven't even finished this RP and we're already talking about shipping... this should be good. As a heads up given how close to the end of Evraius we are, I've got some cool news for anyone who is looking forward to the next RP I'm running. While I'm gonna be taking the normal several-month break I normally do between this RP and whatever my next original one is gonna be, I'm actually working with someone right now on a potential co-headed RP that I would be running on a plot concept they developed, so if you guys are looking out for another RP after Evraius, keep an eye open.

(This is a retroactive posting just to cover Sanya's attack and to generally refresh the two-post rule because now I don't have a character actively involved any more ) As Sanya lunged forward Evra stepped in front of her. He powers were temporarily suspended as her spoke. "Wait. Please. I can already sense that this battle is not yet over, and that Adriev is no longer the threat we need consider. Wait a moment, and I think attacks of that caliber will find a more worthy recipient. After what had happened next, it was clear what he meant. "Now go forth" Evra said stepping aside, "and end this."
