Double-posting, yeah, I know. Normally, I wouldn't, but....my imagination is being really pushy.
Lexa
Xoncron took Xero out of the room, no doubt to "discuss". Me? I didn't care either way. Nothing could give me reprieve, an escape from this inner hell I was trapped in.
I put my earbuds in.
"I can't escape this hell So many times i've tried
But i'm still caged inside"
I changed it immediately. I reminded me too much of....
"The lunatic is on the grass
The lunatic is on the grass
Remembering games and daisy chains and laughs
Got to keep the loonies on the path
The lunatic is in the hall The lunatics are in my hall The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And every day the paper boy brings more
And if the dam breaks open many years too soon And if there is no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon
The lunatic is in my head The lunatic is in my head
You raise the blade, you make the change You re-arrange me 'till I'm sane
You lock the door And throw away the key
There's someone in my head but it's not me.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes
I'll see you on the dark side of the moon."
I stared at the roof of the house. I closed my eyes and I saw his face. Everytime I did, he was there. I took out my ear-buds and listened to raised voices.
"HOW THE HELL ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE OVER LEXA WHILE YOU TWO ARE JOINED?!" Sephirix "OH, SO NOW YOU SEEM TO CARE FOR HER SOOOO MUCH, DON'T YOU?!" Xero "WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!" "I'M NOT THE ONE THAT FRENCHED HER THE MOMENT HER BOYFRIEND WALKED OUT?!" "AND I'M NOT ONE THAT HAS REPEATEDLY ATTACKED-" Sephirix "OH, YEAH, CAN'T SAY SH!T ABOUT THAT, CAN YOU? THE BRUISES ON HER NECK ARE PLAINLY OBVIOUS!" "XERO, I'M GOING TO THROW YOU OUT?!" "TRY ME!"
"WILL YOU TWO SHUT UP!?" Xoncron
"NO!" Sephirix and Xero... "YOU TWO ARE ONLY GOING TO MAKE THIS WORSE!" Rixec "SHUT IT, RIXEC, XON! I'VE RUN THROUGH THIS! THE ONLY WAY WE GET THROUGH THIS, WITHOUT CASUALTY, IS TO FORM THE X-BLADE!" "XERO, WE DON'T CARE ABOUT THE X-BLADE PART! IF VANITAS HAD-" Xoncron "LIKE HELL YOU WOULD HAVE!"
"..." "OH, THAT'S RIGHT, XON! YOU IDIOTS HAVE NO PLAN WHATSOEVER TO FIX THIS, DO YOU?!" "PLEASE LET ME TOSS HER OUT!" Sephirix "SEPHIRIX, SHUT UP, I'M TRYING TO THINK!" Xoncron "YOU ALL THINK YOUR BUMBLING AROUND, DOING THE BEST YOU CAN, SURVIVING IT! WELL, THAT AIN'T GOING TO CUT IT! IF HE GOES THROUGH WITH THIS, THERE WILL BE NO WAY FOR ANY OF YOU TO SAVE THIS WORLD, LET ALONE GO HOME!" "WHY YOU-" Sephirix "TOUCH ME AND YOU'LL LOSE THAT HAND!" Xero "ARE YOU THREATENING ME?!" "ARE YOU THREATENING ME, SEPHIRIX?" "DOES IT LOOK LIKE I NEED AN ECHO?!"
I walked out of the room. The yelling stopped. Sephirix looked like he was about to murder Xero. I began to speak.
"I believe Xero."
Everyone looked at me in shock.
"Lexa, are you-" Sephirix walked toward me. I took a step back. He stopped. "Lexa?" He said. ".....I don't want to talk to you right now....it's not you, it's me....my heart is....I finally understand what the Nobodies were talking about...." I said and walked outside. The full moon was now a new moon. So much time had passed.....
"Lexa?" Xero said and caught up with me. "Yes?" I said. "...."She remained silent. "If you just want to walk with me, that's okay." I said. "You...aren't mad?" She said. "...I don't have enough of a heart to feel mad. Vanitas took that with him." I said.
Xero looked at me in extreme shock. "Lexa." She stopped but I walked ahead. "Lexa!" She ran up and caught my arm. "You need to stop this!" She said. "Why?" I asked. "Because I know for a fact Vanitas would not want this for you!" I shook my head. "We'll never know, I guess...." I started to move forward. "NO!" Xero yelled. I looked back. "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE FIERY LEXA I USED TO HATE SO MUCH!? YOU BURNED SO BRIGHT AND NOW-" Xero looked up at me with a burning, determined expression. "If you refuse to see light, then I'm going to open your eyes." She said.
"What-" I suddenly felt like I was being pulled under water. I landed on the bottom, then suddenly was bombarded with memories, some mine, some not-
"Tell Lexa I loved her more than anything else in this universe and she's the most brilliant, smartest, beautiful, kindest woman there ever was. She'll make a fine Keyblade Master. You were a good friend, Xoncron. Tell Sephirix to keep his hands off, but no hard feelings. Now, GO!"
"Vanitas!" I saw her face. "Hey!" I ran over to her. "Late for school again, slacker?" She asked, wind rustling her black and red uniform. "I can't change for the world." I grinned. "Well, it's a good thing you like the uniforms, then, or you'd never wear them." Lexa laughed. "Did you at least do last night's homework?!" "Lexa, you're my girlfriend, not my mom." I said and kissed her hair. "Oh, screw off." She pushed off me, laughing.
" "Maybe you didn't get the point with Sephiroth: you mess with that girl, you mess with me. If you ever make her cry like that again, I'll rip off the flesh off your face with a corkscrew, as slowly and painfully as I deem necessary. Are we clear?!"
Vanitas grabbed my wrist and spun me around. "Stop that." Vanitas said, sternly. "What?" I said. "Stop berating yourself for feeling a very real emotion." he explained. "Is this part of the reason you've been so upset lately?" I nodded. "Why didn't you tell me?" He asked. "I...thought you wouldn't give a damn." Vanitas shook his head in disbelief. "Lexa..." He pulled me in, surprising me again. "To tell you the truth, I've never had anyone give a damn about me before, and it continually amazes me that you seem to." He said. "Really?" I asked. "Yep." He replied.
"I started to wake up. She set me against one of the walls and kneeled down to my eye level. "Vanitas, before you fully wake up and get pissed, I want you to know that...." I glared furiously. How dare you, traitor. I still couldn't move; she was an even better spell caster than I originally thought.
"I owe you a lot." You bet you do. You don't even now the half of it. "And I know I'm going to hurt you by leaving, but my heart calls me elsewhere. So, I'm going to pay you back as best as I can. You said you didn't want half-way answers a while ago; you want the truth to how I feel for you," Oh, she's going to punch me in the face."here it is-" Here it comes. I braced for impact.
She pressed her lips to mine. WHOA!"
I wandered around Radiant Garden for a while. What does one do after everything you learned...was a lie.... I looked in a window. I gasped as I saw Lexa. I quickly looked away as I saw her in a black wife-beater, sleeping. It wouldn't hurt if I.... I opened the window, hidden by the shadow. She looked more happier and fiery than I'd ever seen her. She turned over. I backed up, worried she'd see me. She smiled and sighed. "I wonder...." I whispered. I paced over to her bedside, making almost no noise. I placed my hand on her face. I felt myself drift into her mind.
"Vanitas!" I turned as I heard my name too late. She tackled me, again, into the ocean, sitting on my chest. "Too slow this time, eh?" I turned red as I saw she was only wearing a bikini and I was only in trunks. "Oh, stop picking on him." I glared at Ventus. Why the hell was he here? "Oh, you know he could kick your ass in three seconds flat if he wanted to." I grinned. Nice to know someone else thought of me highly. Lexa laughed. I saw a multitude of other people standing behind Lexa's towering form. I tried to sit up to see better. "Nope." Lexa pushed me back down, laughing. "Why?" I asked. "Because I have a present for you." She leaned down and...
Dreams changed into memories. I watched as memory blurred and faded. I found a pattern in the memories about in the memories. She was second-guessing herself: she'd only had three boyfriends in her life and they'd all ended badly (Oh, I'd just love to break their necks badly). I slipped out of her mind and sat in a corner of the room. I remembered a promise made.
"Not just that: Vanitas is my muse, the source of my work and projects and writing,my imagination personified. I feel as if someone's torn a hole in my heart where my imagination." I said. "I'm in love with my work, you could say."
"First, you did not turn into one as your light is safeguarded by the one who is your light."
"My light? But then why-" The answer hit me like a sack of bricks. "Oh, no, no, no, no, Vanitas, he can't be-that's impossible-"
"What is possible and what is impossible are not always set in stone. Regardless, he is your light."
I walked in and immediately felt a rush of fury. There sat Xoncron's dark self beside Marluxia and Larxene, sitting in front of a table. "Welcome." Marluxia said. "I see you received our message." "Fix Lexa or I'll break your face, pretty boy. I did what you wanted." I said. "Doesn't anyone care for polite conversation anymore?" Marluxia sighed.
"Very well, we'll fix Lexa. You have my sincerest apologies to have made it this way, but we knew you wouldn't come any otherwise." Marluxia said. "Sit, won't you?" I shook my head. "How do you fix this?" I said. "The moment you walked in, we began to make repairs. Isn't that right, Namine?" Marluxia turned toward to a small blonde girl sitting in a corner of the room. She looked scared to death, but she nodded her head. "We've had previous problems with her, but I think we've smoothed things out." Marluxia said, still looking at her.
Lexa stirred. "She wakes." Xoncron's dark self said, looking at her hungrily. I clutched her tighter. Lexa awakened, her green eyes looking like emerald infernos. "Vanitas." "Don't move; we're in a very precarious situation." I said. She nodded.
"Thank you. I'll take my leave." I said and turned around. "Leaving so soon?" Marluxia said. Larxene laughed. "Treachery." I said. "Yep, you've been 100% duped, idiot." Larxene said.
"Or so you think." I turned back around. "I lied when I said I was alone, because, in truth-" Several of my Unversed appeared. "I'm never alone." I dodged out of the way as Xoncron's dark self came flying from behind the overturned table. I opened a dark corridor and ran out. "No, wait, Namine!" Lexa cried out. I groaned and turned back.
The occupants of Castle Oblivion were having a hard time defeating my Unversed. "Lexa, run home-don't you dare say no, just go, trust me!" I said and dropped her back in the dark corridor. "And one more thing-" She looked back as she prepared to run. "I love you more than I love me." I quickly said and ran into the fighting room. I ran through the room, dodging lighting, darkness and Marluxia's scythe. "Let's go!" I grabbed Namine's hand. I opened a second dark corridor and sprinted into it, ignoring Marluxia's cry of "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!"
I promise never let you lose yourself.
I walked out to Twilight's View, sat at the edge of the platform and stared out over the city. "You look lonely." Vanitas walked up.
"...I want to be alone." I said. "No, you don't." Vanitas replied. "Correction: I don't want to be near you."
"I'm just so sick of this. I'm sick of not seeing the sun. I'm sick of not being able to sleep well. I'm sick of the nightmares. I'm sick of almost crashing right after training. I'm sick of you being the only person I see since you managed to scare them all off. And the thing I'm most sick of is...." I stopped. "The thing I'm most sick of...is the not knowing and the knowing." I said, almost silent.
We sat in silence, Vanitas thinking over what I had said. "You...want to go to another world?" He asked.
"What?!" I said, "Look, I'm not asking again. Yes or no?" "Yes, yes, I'm just a little shocked. Let's go!" I said, perked a little. Vanitas opened a dark corridor. He stood in front of it, facing me. "Don't think you can escape, because you can't. Got it?" He said, seriously. I nodded my head rapidly. He grabbed my hand.
I walked behind him keeping up with his quick pace easily. We suddenly stopped. Vanitas swiftly moved me in front of him and covered my eyes with one of his hands. "Don't panic; I just want it to be a surprise." He muttered. We walked more slowly for a while and we stopped. Vanitas uncovered my eyes.
I was blinded for a moment, then my eyes adjusted. I stared at the seashore as I recognized the place. "Destiny Islands." I said. "I thought you might like it." I nodded. "Thank you so much; this is..." I stopped and laughed. "I really don't have words for this."
After a while, we sat at the bent palm tree and talked a bit. I was much more open here and I dare say I got into a much better mood. "Dude, did you see Xig -double-dammit, that's the third time I've done that- "-Vanitas chuckled at my mock frustration-" Braig's face when he realized he got the last cup of espresso yesterday?" I said. "I honestly thought you were going to kill him." Vanitas said. "If I hadn't wanted regular coffee, I might've tried to." I laughed. "Oh, triple dammit, I left all my electronics in my room." I said. "Yeah, me too." Vanitas said.
I suddenly got hit with a stroke of devious imagination. "Vanitas, you don't mind water?" I said, slyly. "No, why do you ask?" I grinned mischievously. "Whatever you're thinking of, don't even-!" I tackled Vanitas into the ocean.
We resurfaced a few seconds later. "B!tch!" Vanitas spurted out saltwater. I laughed heartily. "Oh, two can play at this!" Vanitas splashed some water in my face.
"Hey, you know why the sun sets red?" I said. "Huh?" Vanitas looked at me. "You see, light is made of different colors, and of all those colors, red travels the farthest." I grinned. "Guess we really do travel here, there and everywhere, Red." Vanitas said. I blushed and elbowed him lightly in the ribs. Vanitas laughed. "So, what's your world like?"
We sat and talked and laughed for hours. The sun was just a fading shimmer on the horizon as we watched shooting stars. "I don't wanna go back just yet. Do you?" Vanitas said. "Nah." I said. "You know, we could never go back." I said. "Lexa." Vanitas scolded. "Just throwing out an idea. It is a possibility; Xehanort would never expect it." I said plainly. "..." Vanitas remained silent. "But I know you won't." I sighed. "Lexa, I want you to know that...." Vanitas stood up.
"WHAT DO YOU CARE?! YOU DON'T GIVE A FLYING LEAP ABOUT ME OR ANY OF US! YOU DON'T GIVE TWO RED CENTS ABOUT ANYONE BUT YOURSELF!" I stood up, face turning red and hot. I started making him back up. "Lexa, stop!" Xoncron said. "NO! THIS IS BETWEEN ME AND HIM!
IF YOU HADN'T LIED TO ME AND MADE ME THINK THAT EVERYONE WAS DEAD, I COULD HAVE ENDED THIS BETTER, YOU SON OF A-" I stopped abruptly. My rage had reached its peak. I flew up my hand and backhanded Vanitas.
To say it hurt is the least of it. I had forgotten about the metallic parts of his helmet and my hand stung. He turned his head back to me, eyes blazing fury. He snatched my right hand, still in the air. "That was uncalled for!" "LIKE HELL, IT WAS UNCALLED FOR!" I yelled back. "You really don't know when to quit, do you?
"I. HATE. YOU." I roared at Vanitas. "REALLY?! BECAUSE I THINK OTHERWISE!" Vanitas yelled back. "What?" I said, shocked. "Your dark-side seemed to think differently! EXPLAIN THAT!" I stared for a minute, then turned away. "Look at me!" He grabbed the side of my face and pulled it closer to him, making it impossible to do anything else. "You're giving me answers. Now, start talking." He said. "I..." I tried to move back. "Now." He demanded. "I...can't tell you." I said. "Why?!" He growled. "I just can't." I said. "Can't or won't?" "Both." I said. "I'm tired of all these half-answers; you owe me, Lexa. Talk."
I swear Vanitas's eyes do have hypnotizing powers. I started talking. "I do...like you....a lot." Vanitas glared. "I....was told by a very reliable source...you and I are....have....Don't judge me, it's not my choice!" I said. "What?" He said. "You and I....are connected. More tightly than most." "Really?" He tightened his grip on my wrist. "Ow." I said.
"That's why you're so obsessed. Hate to break the truth to you, but your heart's been stolen by one who has none." His eyes were cold and hard. "Lies." I said. "LIES?!" "Lies told by Xehanort to you. Lies meant to keep you under his control. Listen to me. Xehanort is using you, just as he used Terra, the first Organization-"
"How dare you." He moved his hand from my face to my other wrist. "Xehanort has done everything for me to-" "To be his puppet." I said, unafraid. "I'm no one's puppet." He said. "Yes, you are." I said. "Listen to someone besides yourself and Xehanort! Please!" He shoved me into Xoncron.
"Pathetic. I've no time for sentiment. Take it to someone who cares." He opened a dark corridor. I ran forward and grabbed his arm. "Please, don't go." I said. He looked back at me. "You know, you're rather sexy when you're pissed. Maybe it's your eyes. Kind of reminds me of myself. They have a habit of showing what's inside, if you catch my drift." He tapped beside his right eye and winked.
"Vanitas?"
"Yeah?"
"Love you."
"Rest. You need it."
"Doesn't change that I lo-" "Don't you dare say that word."
"Coffee." I said in a monotone. "Coffee?" he said, bemused. "Anything highly sugary and full of caffeine." I answered. "Wheresakitchen?" My words started to press together. Vanitas chuckled. "C'mon." I had to ask after breakfast where the kitchen was again, because I sleepwalked to it the first time.
After 3 cups of coffee, I'd woken up for the most part. "Awake?" Vanitas asked. "Almost." I said. I went for another cup. "You're such a crack addict." Vanitas shook his head. "I don't get coffee often at home." I replied. "I think there may be good reason for that." Vanitas said. "Are you implying something?" I asked. "I implied nothing." Vanitas said, grinning. "What are you so happy for?" I asked. "It's going to be hilarious when you crash." "Considering my caffeine intake, that's gonna be a while." I said.
"Lexa." I turned around. There stood Vanitas, holding a bouquet of red roses. "Are those for me?" I asked, curious. "Who else?" He said, smoothly and placed the bundle in my hands. The garden we were standing in was so beautiful. "You like this place?" He asked. I nodded, admiring the scenery. He wrapped an arm around my waist. "What are you-" Vanitas pressed his lips to mine. My face was glowing red. He pulled back and laughed. "Why is it you always get so red, Ginger?" I rolled my eyes."Catch me if you can!" He laughed again and raced to the gate. "Wait!" I ran after him. No matter how fast I went, he was always just out of my reach. The garden faded out into dark, dead forest. Suddenly, Vanitas disappeared. "Vanitas?" I called out. I turned around. I couldn't escape the gaze of the personification of my fears: the Slender Man. I quickly turned and ran. "VANITAS, WHERE ARE YOU?" I screamed. Suddenly he was in front of me. "NOOOOOOOOOOO!"
"LEXA! LEXA! LEXA, WAKE UP!" I quickly opened my eyes. Vanitas was standing over me, shaking my shoulders furiously. My body was shaking so much from fear and the cold sweat. "Are you okay?!" Vanitas said. I shook my head rapidly. Tears unwillingly flowed down in a stream. "Was it a bad dream?" He asked. "A night terror." I managed out. "Wanna talk about it?" He said, uneasily. I shook my head again. I instinctively leaned into Vanitas's chest and cried and cried. I couldn't believe I was breaking down like this, but it was so..."I know, I know." It was at this point I realized I was babbling out loud. I stopped and just let myself calm down.
I was still shaking a bit, but I had stopped crying. "I came down here because I heard someone screaming my name at the top of their lungs." Vanitas said. "Oh?" I said. "I ran in and you were thrashing like mad and shrieking like someone was trying to kill you. That bad of a dream?" I nodded. We sat in silence for a while, not moving. "I think you can guess by now what my feelings are." I said. "Let you keep your feelings to yourself." He said. "Huh?" I said and looked up. "Whatever your feelings are, you can't change them on a whim, am I right?" Vanitas said. "Yeah...?" I said. "Then I'm not going to judge you." He said.
"Vanitas, got to promise me something." I said and grabbed his hands. "What?" He asked. "Promise you'll never return to the dark. Promise you'll never go back to Xehanort, no matter what." I said. "I swear." Vanitas said. "I mean it, I'm never going back. I'll always be right beside you. Consider me your slave." He grinned, trying to cheer me up.
"Really, now?" I said. "Yep." He answered. "Say you love me." "Ah, why'd you say the L-word?!" He clutched his ears, playfully. "Say it!" I demanded, a small smile on my face." "Never." He said. "Say it, or I'll make you dye your hair Marluxia-pink!" I said. "You truly are a cruel woman." Vanitas surrendered. "Alright: I l-lo-lov- do I really have to do this?" Vanitas said. "Say it or say good-bye to hot, sexy hair." I threatened. "Alright, I love you. There." I giggled. "Wasn't that hard, was it?" I said. "Now that I think of it..."Vanitas said.
I clutched my heart. If I couldn't save myself, then I'd save her. I'd make sure she'd be safe. I summoned my Glider. I rode as fast as I could across the desert. I met Lexa riding Xoncron's Glider. "Vanitas!" Xoncron said in surprise. I shook my head. "Land!" I yelled. "What is it?" Lexa said. "Lexa, go after Sephirix! You are the fastest out of the two of us!" I ordered. "Why-" Lexa started. "I don't have time, except to do this." I put Void Gear into her hand.
"In your hand, take this Key. So long as you have the makings, then through this simple act of taking, its wielder you shall one day be.
And you will find me, friend—no ocean will contain you then. No more borders around, or below, or above, so long as you champion the ones you love."
"Take Void Gear. It shall serve you well. Now, GO!" "Why-" "JUST GO!" I hoisted her up onto the Glider and pushed her on, watched her leave quickly.
"Vanitas, what is going on?!" Xoncron said. "I'm cursed: he put a spell on me to where my heart's going to go supernova in less than 10 minutes. Xoncron-" I grabbed Xoncron as hard I could on the shoulder. "You make sure no one ever gets her, alright? I don't know how this is all going to play out, but you have to swear that you'll keep her safe, alright? Swear it! On your word as Keyblade Master!" I demanded, feeling time leaving me.
"I swear it." Xoncron said. "Then I have nothing left in this world to worry about. Give this to Lexa." I handed Xoncron a large envelope. "This is all the information Lexa will need after this, alright? She's going to get really depressed after this. Make sure you keep her light burning. Else everything we've done is for nothing." I said. "You've got to go." Xoncron nodded. "Keep her safe and..."
I sat back against the ground and watched the sky. "What a life." I said. I remember a song I particularly remember from Lexa's I-Pod. I smiled and started singing softly.
Come up to meet you, tell you I'm sorry You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you, tell you I need you Tell you I set you apart Tell me your secrets, and ask me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start
Running in circles, coming up tails Heads on a science apart Nobody said it was easy It's such a shame for us to part Nobody said it was easy No one ever said it would be this hard Oh, take me back to the start. I was just guessing at numbers and figures Pulling the puzzles apart
Questions of science, science and progress Don't speak as loud as my heart
And tell me you love me, come back and haunt me Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles, chasing our tails Coming back as we are Nobody said it was easy Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start.
I watched a few shooting stars fly up into the sky. "Bye." I whispered.
I closed my eyes and waited.
I found something in that moment that I'd never found before: peace. I was at peace. Who ever thought it would be so hard to find something so....
I felt the wind rustled my hair as my time started to run out. "Ending at the beginning..."
I gasped and opened my eyes as I felt my heart shatter.
Lexa....Love.......You.......
I opened my eyes. Xero looked back at me. "Xero, how did you-" "I didn't. Your heart has had them all this time." She said. I felt a tear run down my face. I touched the Wayfinder. "Promise." I said. "Okay." I started walking quickly back to the house. "Hey, slow down, where's the fire!?" Xero said.
I busted into the house, slamming the door opened. "Yeah, just to let you know, the old-non-depressive-Lexa is back. Which reminds me-" I ran up to Sephirix and punched him in the nose. "That's a parting gift from Vanitas, deal with it." I said.
"Let's get down to business. We've got a big problem, yes?" I looked over at Xero. "Huge. Luckily, that problem has been delayed via the force of the explosion Vanitas created." I nodded. "Alright, Xero, I agree with you: we've tried everything else, and that's a guarantee, but let's use that as a last resort. Xoncron, you're the mad scientist, any ideas?"
"What?" I replied to their silence. "What?! Do I look like a mirror? No? Then, stop staring!"
They continued to give me this look: 0_0. "For the love of God, let's NOT waste the time we've been given!" I said.
"Well, that was a radical change." Xoncron finally spoke up. I sighed. "Look, we'll talk about my emotional issues after this over. Until then, let's keep to business." I said. "Xero's right about a plan: we need one. Xoncron, you're training with me, Vanitas-style. Rixec, go make sure everyone is prepared in case we do lose. Sephirix-" I looked over at him-"I have no idea what to do with you. Xero, go smooth things over with the Organization. Convince them, 'kay?" I said. Xero nodded and left.
"More bricks!" I yelled out.
"Lexa, I think that's too much."
"Xoncron, I was half-exhausted and I did more than this." I said as I did another push-up. Xoncron sighed, but added more bricks to the board on my back. "God, Vanitas trains hardcore." Xoncron shook his head. "Yep." I said shortly and pushed up again.
"So glad it's night." I said. "Hmm?" Xoncron said. "Gets me in the mood." I answered. "More." Xoncron shook his head. "Look, I have to be as stronger or stronger than he is. This ain't gonna cut it." I said. "Lexa, you're crazy." Xoncron said but put on more.
When I reached my limit, I flipped the board off my back, sweat pouring down. "And that's why I don't wear my coat during warm-ups." I said. "That was a warm-up?!" Xoncron said. I grinned. "Vanitas wasn't one to go easy. Neither will I." I said. "Your turn." "Are you serious?!" Xoncron said. I nodded. "Fine." He said.
Xoncron did really well for his first "hardcore" workout. Better than I did. "Reached your limit?" I asked. He nodded, straining too much to talk. I kicked the bricks off. Xoncron rolled on his back, panting. "Good job. We'll try again in an hour or two." Xoncron groaned. "That's what I said." I replied.
I had planned on training Xoncron more, but I ended training myself more. When Xero returned, she helped me to push myself further. She got a massive kick out of it.
As I pushed myself harder and harder, I had one thought on my mind.
He is going to pay. Dearly.
