  1. Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura will be this year's recipient for the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2024 Game Developers Choice Awards. Shimomura will be the first composer to receive the prestigious award. This award recognizes individuals that impact not only the games they work on, but the gaming industry in general. Previous winners include Shigeru Miyamoto, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Todd Howard, and John Carmack among others. The 2024 Game Developers Choice Awards will be during the Game Developers Conference week, which will be happening March 18-24, 2024 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco, California. The awards will be on Wednesday March 20th at 6:30 PM PDT (9:30 PM EDT) and will be broadcast on Twitch. Congratulations to Yoko on her latest achievement and we wait for more music for Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link and Kingdom Hearts IV!
  2. Sega Plaza have announce a new Kingdom Hearts plush coming to Sega Plaza crane game. This plush is King Mickey wearing his iconic Kingdom Hearts II outfit. Kingdom Hearts II King Mickey will be available at the plaza starting March 15th.
  3. Sega Plaza have announce a new Kingdom Hearts coming to Sega Plaza crane game. This plush is Sora in his Kingdom Hearts II Christmas Town outfit. Christmas Town Sora will be available starting Nov 24th. Pre-orders are being accepted on Aitai Kuji for ¥2,500 (about $17.00) and will start shipping later this month.
  4. Kingdom Hearts continues to make connections in different Disney properties with another Easter Egg in a Disney animated show. In the most recent episode of the Disney show The Ghost and Molly McGee "Game On", the Kingdom Key appears on the weapon select for a video game. You can view it below. The Kingdom Key isn't the only weapon from a Square Enix series. The Buster Sword is also shown as a choice of weapon, a reference to the Final Fantasy series.   5. Square Enix have revealed the teaser trailer for Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link on Twitter (X). The game, which will be available on iOS and Android, is set to release in 2024. You can watch the teaser trailer along with new screenshots below. Closed Beta testing registration for the United Kingdom and Australia will begin at 07:00AM UTC on October 30th and run until November 19th. Currently there's no word on a NA test.

Square Enix has updated the Kingdom Hearts Missing Link Japanese Twitter (X) account with a profile picture of symbol of Scala, the header has been updated with a new picture of the castle with the Missing Link logo on it, and a new post with new concept art and the hashtag #KHML.   7. During the September 14th Nintendo Direct, Nintendo announced the Amiibo figure for Sora will be available next year. The figure depicts Sora in his Kingdom Hearts 1 attire from the same render used in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The figure is currently available for pre-order from the Nintendo Store Japan for ¥2,200 (approx. $14.92 USD) You can check out the Amiibo figure in the gallery below.
  8. AmiAmi have have updated their site with Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories playing cards. Each deck contains 52 cards in the style of the cards used by Sora and Riku in Chain of Memories. The cards range from Keyblade and Items to Boss and Allies. You can view the cards in the gallery below. Each deck will cost ¥2,460 (about $17.00) and will begin shipping in September. UPDATE [June 23, 2023]: Pre-orders are being accepted on Square Enix e-Store and Aitai Kuji. The cards will cost ¥3,080 (about $21.00) on the e-Store and ¥2,040 (about $17.00) on Aitai Kuji. Both sites have the cards coming out in September.
  9. Square Enix have updated their E-Store with two new music boxes featuring the theme for Kairi and Traverse Town. Each box will cost ¥2,750 (about $20.00) and will be available on November 25, 2023. You can check out snapshots of both music boxes in the galleries below.   10. Square Enix has updated their E-Store with new Kingdom Hearts glass plates. There are 4 different plate styles: Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts III, and the 20th Anniversary artwork. The E-Store are accepting pre-orders for the plates. Each glass plate will cost ¥1,980 (about $15.00) and will be available on May 20th. Links to the individual plate are listed below.   11. Sega Plaza have announce a new Kingdom Hearts prize plush set to appear throughout Japan via Sega Plaza crane games. This plush will be Roxas wearing his Organization XIII cloak. The plush will be available starting on June 9th. Aitai Kuji are accepting pre-orders for the plush for ¥4,500 (about $35.00) and will start shipping in June! Currently there are a couple of plushies for Kingdom Hearts that have made an appearance at Sega Plaza: Sora, Shadow Heartless, Riku, Kairi, Mickey, Donald, and Goofy. Donald will be available starting on April 21st and Goofy will be available on May 12th.   13. GameStop has revealed a new store-exclusive Funko Pop! Kingdom Hearts Sora figure as part of their Collect Fest lineup. This 5-inch figure depicts Sora in his orginial Kingdom Hearts attaire standing the Kingdom Key up on his right side. The figure will also come with a background of the cover art for the first Kingdom Hearts game. You can view photos for the figure in the gallery below.   14. In the latest Disney+ orginial movie Chang Can Dunk, game footage from Kingdom Hearts III is shown in the background during the scene where the protagionist Chang gets locked in the basement during a party. The little brother for one of the jocks, Timmy, can be seen playing the Olympus level on a PS5. The scene happens around the 15 minutes mark. In the credits, Kingdom Hearts composer Yoko Shimomura is given credit for Hero's Fanfane, which is being heard with the gameplay. The synopsis for the movie reads as follows: Chang Can Dunk is available to watch on Disney+. Let us know what you think about this cameo in the comments below!
