  1. Thanks a bunch for the support! You guys are awesome, and I'll keep giving you all updates on exciting news about the game at all times. I HAVE RETURNED! (Progress on the game has been restarted!) Update: The game I've been making for a long time finally has its own website and forums. Feel free to sign up and message other community members! http://adolescense.enjin.com/home It's just a simple site, but I plan to make it better over time. ^^' I hope you all enjoy it (Oh, and of course, the game and series now has an official public title!) Leave your opinions in the comments (Or on the site, I'm not fussy!)
  2. Check out the latest news update for my game! http://bit.ly/29IAhKh
  3. You are all going to love this! Artwork Redesigns for Aziel and a news update for the game. Earlier on in development, I told you guys about an amazing new artist that I had found who agreed to help me on this game! She is known as Fudgemint Guardian, but you can also call her Erin. Erin has done some amazing work so far to redesign the main character, Aziel. Therefore, I've decided to share her work with you all! (You won't be able to see the rest until release!) The first picture is early redesigns for Aziel's new hairstyle. I wanted a nice strong-looking haircut that adds a slight darkness to the character. Initially, I thought either a medium or long hairstyle would do. I didn't think short hair would fit Aziel's character. I've taken minor (and I do mean very minor) inspiration for Aziel from Terra in all honesty, and I think the inspiration for him will be clear upon release. Here are the first four haircuts for Aziel that she redesigned. The first one is the one I was initially going to choose to be Aziel's hair. However, she then showed me four more completely separate designs which I also loved! As you can see, the hairstyles in this picture are wavier and appear to be longer than those in the first. Unfortunately these did not fit Aziel's character due to the length and the waviness. (But I may use them for other characters, who knows?) So in the end, it turns out that long hair doesn't really fit Aziel. The final four styles are my absolute favourites, number 9 and number 12 are the two that appealed to me most. Yes, 12! So there you have it, 12 fantastic hairstyles, but only 3 made the cut for Aziel. It was a VERY difficult choice, but I'm positive you'll love my decision. The three choices are Hairstyles 1, 9 and 12. Due to it being such a difficult choice, I asked Erin to do some clothing designs for Aziel. These all turned out absolutely fantastic, which I think you'll also agree on! Some of these even look like they could easily be implemented into a Kingdom Hearts game for crying out loud. The first set of clothing were ones I received VERY positive feedback on through my friends and family who have been lucky enough to bug test the game. These clothing designs fit perfectly with Aziel's character and fighting style, and I love all of them! Then we have the next set of clothing. Although these don't particularly fit Aziel's character or fighting style, I still love all of them and could fit these into the game via character customisation (That's right, you get to change clothes later in-game!) Now, I know I said these all don't fit Aziel's character or fighting style, but the first of the last three does in some sense, and may be implemented as a clothing design for a memory fragment (will be talked about later on) or possible undercover mission of some sort, I don't know yet. Anyway, back to hairstyles! These were so difficult to choose from! Each of the three hairstyles I had as options stood out to me so much, and all three looked amazing. However, after looking at the different hairstyles on a full-bodied and dressed-up Aziel... ... I chose number 9! I chose this because I felt that it was edgier than the first, but wouldn't obstruct his view in battle like number 12, even though I do LOVE number 12 (I'll be using No. 12 for Aziel's *SPOILER*. Heheh... You'll see at the end of the demo) and of course, like I said before, looks the best on a full-bodied and dressed-up Aziel. Going back to clothing designs, I also had to choose which of the six I felt was best for Aziel's main appearance throughout the game. This was also a difficult choice because the first three designs stood out to me as equally as the three hairstyles did. The final choice, however, was clothing design number 3! Honestly, it looks fantastic. Plus, it appears to be fast and flexible and could be adaptable for any situation, which is great for an all-round character such as Aziel. Magic, swords and nimble movements could all be implemented into this clothing design! However... I felt the colours on the clothing could use a little bit of improvement, so I once again asked Erin to do some new designs! These new designs all have different colour patterns, and all use different hairstyles to check which one's the best. I know you guys will really love these new designs as much as I do! As you can see, Aziel is looking fresh and ready for action. He still has the classic triple earrings but doesn't have the scar. This is a simple mistake, and a scar will be in his final appearance. (Mainly because it just looks really awesome on him!) Last but not least, I asked Erin to make some new weapon designs for Aziel to fit with his new clothing. First off, the new clothing and a strap to hold the sword with a front and rear view. And last but not least, again, the brand new swords! These ALL look amazing, but I think Aziel will either start off with sword number 1 or 3 (leave a vote, I would love to hear your opinions!). Until I can decide properly, I'll be going with sword 1, and you will be able to use all of these swords as the game progresses! That's all for now on the fantastic new artwork Erin has done! So what do YOU think? Do you like the new redesign of Aziel? Does his swords and overall appearance so far appeal to you? Do you also agree that Erin is an AMAZING artist and was definitely a fantastic choice for the game? Leave your opinions below! I'd love to hear them! Until that, however, I have a slight... NEWS UPDATE First off, the game IS coming along beautifully smooth without many hitches, and looks and feels absolutely amazing! However, after a recent bug test, I've found a couple of HUGE game-breaking bugs that could completely halt your progress through the demo! Until these are fixed, I can't release the demo as it is, I'm sure you understand, though. Secondly, I've taken a little break from making the game. I hope this isn't too much of a problem. I know you guys are really looking forward to this, but lately I've been feeling a little stressed and haven't had much social interaction with anyone, so for the past week I've been spending more time with my friends and fiance, as I've been neglecting spending time with anyone. Constant developing on the game may be nice and fast, but it's really not good for my health. I will be getting back to developing the game either later this week, or next week (I'll be away for a whole week starting Thursday) but I'm going to develop it a little bit slower just so I have time to spend with my friends and fiance and so I don't cause myself any harm. This being said, I'd like you to not expect a release date for the end of the month, and instead expect it for next month. I know some of you can't wait, but it's best that the game works great upon release, right? Thank you all for understanding. You're all so amazing and you all give me tons of inspiration. Some of you have great talent, and I really think you should share it with the world, and even if you don't think you're good at something, I want you to share it anyway. Let people give you criticism, it'll help you better your work and make your stuff even more amazing! Thank you all for being such amazing people. I've not been this happy in any other community! Until next time, Stay Awesome! - VodkaOptic P.S. I know this is quite a long post, so I'm super sorry for that! P.P.S. I also know I said that you wouldn't see any more art for the game, but I will still share Aziel's final design along with a few poses of his later on this week! (depending on when Erin can finish it. I don't want to rush her, she's done such an amazing job so far, she more than deserves at least a little break!)
  4. I need inspiration. ;-;
  5. I hope he sees it now to be honest. He sounds pretty good c:
  6. I wouldn't want to bother anyone... But if he finds my game thread and becomes interested then it's all fine. ^^'
  7. That's fine. ^^ And I'll be sure to answer as many questions as I can. But I will probably go all Tetsuya Nomura on you and prevent giving any story information.
  8. Thanks a bunch! I can't wait to release this to everyone. ^-^ Fantastic news! The game I've been working on now has 2 new amazing people working on it! The first is an artist who goes by the name of Fudgemint Guardian. Her work is simply amazing and I can't wait to see just what she can do with character designs and other things! The second is a musician called Messermusic. He makes some of the best fanmade Kingdom Hearts music I've ever heard and I'm very happy he's on the team! You should definitely try to find him on YouTube. He deserves more views and subs. HUGE thanks to everyone helping so far, and I'm excited to see who else may help in the future! I'm still seeking voice actors and digital artists so if you're interested please leave a message on this thread and I'll contact you
  9. If you want to know anything else I've made a discussion chat on Discord if you'd like to join it?
  10. The demo is almost ready. Expect a release later this month. (After bug tests)
  11. That'd be awesome! Although I don't think it could get that much recognition (unless I can get some amazing people helping me with it, of course. ) but I am trying my hardest to make this the best game I can make. The story is hopefully going to be amazing and the friends who have bug tested it for me all think it's awesome. It will also be a free game, and I'm going to attempt to get it on as many platforms as possible so anyone can play it. ^^
  12. It's just me on my own atm. But I have one artist who's taking forever making a title screen... It's a real shame I haven't been able to find any content creators yet. I've seen some amazing content creators on here BIG ANNOUNCEMENT: NOW LOOKING FOR VOICE ACTORS!! (2 Female, 3 Male!) Anyway, after realising I could add a WHOLE NEW DEPTH into the game, I thought... Hey, let's ask the community for VOICE ACTING! I'm sure there's a ton of great voices out there just ready to be noticed! So, a lot of you who lurk around on these forums may have come across my previous thread about a Video Game I'm making (Which got a ton of great feedback and support, THANK YOU! ) Therefore, I decided to make a discussion chat for everyone interested in knowing more about the game on DISCORD! If you don't know what discord is, it's a fantastic way of talking to people and building up your own little community (In my opinion.) https://discord.gg/7yG66 Here's the link. ^-^ Thanks to everyone for all the support so far, you guys are great. Until next time, Stay awesome! - Vodka Optic
  13. Thanks a bunch! It's super difficult finding people to help though. At the moment I'm looking for voice actors, artists and musicians.
  14. Voice acting could be pretty fun.
  15. For anyone wondering about the game, progress is coming along fast, smooth, and 110% great!
  16. Aw that's a shame. I need musicians the most in all honesty cx But thanks for your support! I appreciate it
  17. I don't need anything too CPU-Heavy. Just art and music.
  18. I really hope so! If you do decide to make content I'd be more than happy to see your previous works. ^-^
  19. I'm glad you like the look of it! It sounds pretty great too, if you get what I mean.
  20. I do, however, have SCREENSHOTS! 1) This Screenshot is taken at the start of the demo. (They do get better. As you can see, you're given your mission briefing and are told to return safe. 2) This Screenshot is taken shortly after, when a friend of yours tells you not to do this mission alone. You, however, are a stubborn character. You are not the kind to accept help from others, and this can be quite troublesome. 3) You are met with another friend of yours. Once again, you are reluctant to accept help. 4) Did you see the blue flame in the last screenshot? These flames link up your memories, and give a deep insight into the Main Character's backstory. You always see a Familiar Memory first. 5) As you can see, there is pretty dark humour in this game. (Grammar fixes still need to be made.) Chester is a boisterous character, who often makes a lot of mistakes and gets himself into tricky situations. 6) You are shown your Mission Briefing. It's the same one from the start of the game! 7) This is a screenshot taken while transitioning memories. The main character, Aziel, states that this is an unfamiliar memory. 8) However, this is because the second memory found within a fragment is one the person has never seen before! This opens up a HUGE opportunity for diverse storytelling and fantastic situations. 9) The place Aziel visited was attacked by rebels. In this screenshot you can see the two characters from the previous screenshot running away while Aziel questions their intentions. 10) A screenshot of a puzzle-based dungeon. It loops! Quite devious. My friend struggled a little with this one, but thoroughly enjoyed it. 11) A screenshot of the battle system! I've added custom weapons and animations thus far, but you won't get to see those until post-release. 12) Another screenshot of the battle system! Here's Irene's skills being utilized for the team. 13) A screenshot showcasing working chests, items and choices within the game. Chests, items and choices all work 100% perfectly. (I've had every single one bug tested with every single outcome). 14) A screenshot of what's to be expected later in the puzzle rooms. As you can see, strange things begin to appear where you wouldn't expect them. 15) In this case, those 'strange things' would be a house! Everything within the house is fully interactive, and some things are searchable. You can find a pretty nice item if you look hard enough. 16) This screenshot showcases the minimal horror that's currently within the game Although, this is going to get much, much worse. Expect much scarier things later on in the demo. 17) This is another great example of things you would not expect to find in the area you visit. Out-of-place areas are very dense in this game, with some being far more mysterious than others. 18) Did I mention you're still in a tomb solving a puzzle? This village is looking gorgeous! I've added tons of wildlife and NPCs to make this village feel alive. Expect more updates. See for yourself!
  21. A title and trailer will be released when the demo is released on Steam. :)And thanks everyone for the awesome amount of support ^^
  22. I have spent a long time developing a pretty nice turn-based RPG in my spare time (which is why I haven't been too active on the forums, sorry!), but there's a slight hitch in everything. I need artists and musicians to help make resources to use in-game! (Now also seeking Voice Actors!) If you would like a chance to get your name out there in the gaming world, here's a way you can start! I've been using base resources for the software I'm using to create a very nice story, in which the alpha demo has almost been completed and will be available on Steam later this month. (Completely free!) There are some minor things you should know before agreeing to doing this: 1) The game is completely non-profit, thus you won't be paid. However, you will be highly credited on the game's steam page and in the game's credits. (This could be a great way to get noticed as a content creator and a great way to get some experience working in the gaming industry!) 2) I would like to see your previous content or anything you have made in the past before I decide if you're good enough to make content for this game. 3) The game is, apparently, really good so far! I have a couple of friends bug testing it from time to time and they all think it's pretty good in terms of story and gameplay! Knowing this, I'm sure you'll be happy to know that any content I release post-development will be yours, free of charge. (I do plan to release commercial products after the game is released. This game is a prequel to a series I'm currently working on with a few artists. If you're interested in the series, please do message me!) 4) The game is NOT Kingdom Hearts related, and is its completely standalone story. 5) Development will be hard, and there will be times where demands for content may seem trying, but if we persevere throughout the development of this game, we could make something absolutely AMAZING. 6) If you are a content creator for the game, when credited I will be happy to post a link to YOUR Deviantart, YouTube Channel, etc. when I credit you on the Steam page. 7) I will appreciate all the help, and will be very grateful to anyone willing to help with development. I call out to this community because there seems to be no end to fantastic content creators. There are also a ton of extremely wonderful people here and I've never had more pleasure being part of a community than I have had being a part of this one. You are all amazing, and I appreciate any help you can offer me. Thank you all, Stay Awesome. - VodkaOptic.
