See the thing is Theres already been a few things that tipped me off, and well I have seen the material now that the games are connected so it's more if a remake/sequel hybrid

Cause that's the impression I have gotten from it. He doesnt have enough screen time for me to really say much other than his model is nice but he also seems to be alive for longer than he was supposed to be which is interesting.

Yeah I dont remember it being too good there. 13 and its sequels kind of used it to the best effect. But that might be because they are more turn based and allow for multiple atks at once. So stagger dmg was more effective In 7 most bosses went into their next phase when I got round to staggering them

It's funny seeing the stagger come back. Last time I think I saw it was 13? I dont remember if 15 had it.

Ah see I have to lvl that up. I decided not to equip any new weapons for the final battle and I didnt final the final weapon for cloud till right before Jenova.

But I didnt really mind it too much. Tifa is pretty great tbh. Her abilities make it easier to pressure him Actually she's incredible for the whispers Cause a lot of her abilities one shot staggered them at the end for me

I just felt that when the whispers were split into three at the final phase it just became a bit hectic. Like I was just switching characters all the time which isnt my favourite thing to be doing. Aerith joined me first.

Eh they were tough. I think they were definitely a good note to end on. But I will say that I dread to fight the whispers on hard because they were kind of relentless. Sephiroth was great I really enjoyed that fight. It was nice that the party gradually joined in and I'm not sure what determines who you get or you just never get Barrett to join you for that one but I was kind of hoping I did because I gave him some good materia

Yeah I'd say that makes sense. He definitely had more stage presence but with voices.

And lacking in the impact it needed

Yeah I just had tv volume I also just felt he was doing that Epcar thing of trying emulate the person who voiced the character prior to him. So it just felt inferior

Yeah Idk, the VAs beside Sephiroth didnt really bother me it's just I had several instances of the music just overpowering them And it kept happening with Sephiroth

Also still dont like Sephiroths new VA. Should've just gave it to Newbern. Overall I enjoyed the game and liked how they expanded some of the characters. Definitely improves them in a lot of areas especially Aerith who honestly in the original was a very bland character. Some things at the end of the story are implied that I'll wait and see what they do with, but hopefully they dont stay too far from the original story especially how it ends. Cause I'm having feelings they will try to change some future events that I feel shouldn't really change but could use some expanding. That said I liked how it ended. Gameplay was nice even if I had gripes with constant switching to fill the ATB gauge. Was a good soundtrack had some nice tunes, favourite being Jenova Quickening, Hollow Skies, the Collapsed Expressway and the main theme remaster. Story for the most part was well paced and definitely set up its mysteries in a good way that had a nice pay off. Wasnt a major fan of the constant forced walking sections, they grew tiresome after a while and not a fan of the motorcycle combat. But overall I think my experience was an 8/10

I mean Cloud does have a reason for being serious and walked up but that would be spoilers Unless ofc you beat the og 7 and then its not I can understand where noleen is coming from Cause it is supported in part with what happens at the end I'm not sure if the jp dub has issues with the sound of the VAs But a lot of the voices were hard to hear over the music and felt out of place. Which as genuinely annoying for a lot of cutscenes. I turned the sound down eventually but why is that happening at default settings?
