  1. Soooo yeah after going over all the lore again about Keyblades and stuff, I got to thinking: Who invented the bequeathing "rule" in the first place? Why does it exist, and did it ALWAYS exist...? I think the whole "only a keyblade master or someone with the power of a master can bequeath someone the ability to wield a keyblade" is BOGUS! It's artifice! I mean, who even decides that? Who judges who's "powerful enough" to be like a Keyblade Master anyways? If the MoM created the first Keyblades by pulling them out of people's Hearts, then there WERE NO "Keyblade Masters" at the time! So that arbitrary rule came into existence LATER somehow...or he invented the restriction himself and added it to all Keyblades to be a jerk lol? Because he himself somehow created the first keyblades WITHOUT that requirement. So it's as artificial as the keyblades themselves! Which is PROBABLY why Data Sora was able to gain a keyblade of his own despite not being bequeathed! Same for Sora, even if he did steal it from Riku's Heart - because the rules are literally MADE UP and actually, truly don't matter! A strong enough Heart can forge/summon a Keyblade without adhering to it...like the Master himself first did! He probably made up that stupid requirement to limit the amount and type of people who can forge their own Keyblades, and who can give them to others. Otherwise, I mean, the future could've literally been full of every random jane and joe popping out a Keyblade lol! It'd be multiversal constant Keyblade wars on a scale hitherto unseen! So yeah: the bequeathing requirement is something somebody made up later on, but didn't actually exist when the first Keyblades were made - probably the MoM himself! And even then, strong enough Hearts - ala Data Sora - can prove it can still be broken and isn't ACTUALLY needed! Otherwise, that would've been impossible!
  2. like the title says, what if xehanort is still and was always meant to be the "child of destiny"? what if the hints and the image of young xehanort being in quadratum in some form means he's not JUST going to maybe be a new ally of Sora's, but what if it means...he's going to finally, truly fulfill his destiny as the child of destiny?! What if he starts to open up to Sora, starts to trust him, and they become allies and friends, and they even share in their empathic abilities together, and Xehanort helps Sora defeat either the Darknesses or the MoM - who manipulated him as a young man; something Xehanort could learn about and tell Sora if he also confronts MoM in Quadratum! That way, Xehanort gets an actual amazing proper redemption arc, fulfills his true destiny in his 14th life, and Sora gets to stay being a normal non-destined guy who just knows what's right and fights his hardest for it. What if THAT is the red herring about this narrative? Sora's not gonna be the child of destiny: it really was Xehanort all along. BAM. That is my crazy theory! What do you think?
  3. I mean from what we've seen in KHUX they aren't like Nobodies, they clearly have emotions - anger most prominently being displayed by them - right? And we all know by now that to have emotions you need a Heart. Unless, like Nobodies, they're generally faking it? But then again, Lingering Will was Terra's emotions despite that I don't think it really had the incentive or environment necessary to grow a Heart? I guess the question is, did Vanitas only develop a Heart because he had half of Ven's as a base when Xehanort tore him out of him, or did he and the other Darknesses have them before? Because they all displayed emotions in KHUX, like anger and cruelty, pettiness and frustration, etc...soooo... Actually we know they WERE actual, physical beings before casting off their forms to become a whole, in the first Keyblade War with the MoM and his friends as a kid, so they HAD to have had Hearts BEFORE, at least, right? But did they keep them after becoming "a whole" or not? And could they develop them after becoming individuals again? Or have they already? Either way, I think it'd be a really powerful statement for KH's themes if we got a Darkness that had or developed their own Heart, and came to be a friend or an ally, instead of just being all evil just because they're made up of pure darkness. Like what if that Lesser Darkness that Baldr and the DR crew created was more childlike and benevolent, showing that at birth even purely dark beings aren't just evil for the sake of it? But then, you could argue that Baldr's Darkness was the way it was because it was only acting on and being influenced by Baldr's Heart and emotions from which it spawned from! Which could be a hopeful point in favor of this idea...they're just influenced and shaped by their hosts? But that doesn't mean they couldn't grow to be something more, someone better? Just my rambly thoughts on Darknesses and philosophy stuff I guess...
