without crisis, it can't work

because if the leaders fall then the entire party crumbles just like UKIP its an "ideology" that feeds on reaction to current events and only exists in situations of crisis

i'm studying this, but apprently populism is a quite feeble "ideology"/"movement" though

so people gather in communities against something they don't know, something they identify as a threat

impossible lol that's why they change history make up narratives to defend a "culture" and a "nation" even though nations are a fairly recent principles before people didn't identify as "french" or "German" but more from the city they were from etc We all have a need for belonging, but we also live in an extremely connected world, that feeds us fear, populism works on that because of the news outlets we can see all the bad things happening in the world

People, cultures have been mixing for centuries, but that would hurt them to admit it

The problem with populism is that they choose a point in history, and defend their "culture" or "ethnicity" from that point in time, defending the idea that people don't mix, and that a culture can be destroyed by another one. Many just go to the extent of retelling history and culture.

I had heard it before, but I guess that's because the guy who theorized it is a Frenchman I don't think they care or they'd tell it's different hell, some of them might even embrace nazism

I had read an article, a while ago that basically explored the idea that nowadays, the youth doesn't have much "ideologies" and "utopias" anymore I mean we're witnessing how the world goes bad and that because of that, they pick more nihilistic ideologies and that's how we get kids who understand nothing about islam start jihad

yeah, we've been fed this narrative for years now, trying to make Muslims and Non-Muslims enemies why ?
