  1. I mean, think about it. In the metaphor where the spider is man and the rain is God's will, the spider is trying to obtain a goal or reach a destination that is forever out of its reach. However, it still keeps trying, no matter how many times it has failed. In the metaphor where the spider is man and the rain is tragedy, think about it. Humans go through horrible natural disasters, yet go back and settle in the exact same area.

  3. "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" is a metaphor for both man's futile struggle against god and the persistence of mankind in the face of tragedy.
