"No we're gonna go in there..." Astra said.

She pushed through the large doors and saw a pure white room. The spiral staircase, the solid marble floor, and the white curtains that covered the sun were beautiful...She walked to the middle of the room and shouted, "Aaron! Where are you?!" She looked to Alexis and sighed.

"I guess we need to look around some more." Astra suggested as she walked up the staircase.

((I forgot! Dx I was on my way to school on iPhone, and half asleep xD))

"Um, Astra..." Alexis murmered quietly. After her breakdown, she wasn't exactly sure she wanted another. "Maybe you shouldn't..." Astra was already marching up the staircase. Alexis sighed, and jogged after her. "Astra, maybe Aaron's not answering you because he wants to be alone--"

She cut off, and slammed into Astra, who was stopped in the doorway. "Ugh," She muttered, and wriggled past her.

Aaron was looking around what appeared to be a library. "Aaron!"

Startled by the sudden call of his friend, Aaron spun around to face her.

"Alexis! Astra! Good to see you guys..." he said with a rather unusual cheer in his voice.

His eyes turned back to the books, where his concentration focused for quite some time. He had found one book in particular that struck his interest, "The Intricate Workings of the Heart.", by an Anonymous Author.

Chapter 5: The Corruption and Possession of a Heart.

In most cases, with only a few exceptions, there will always be a lingering percentage of darkness in your heart. And all though it can barely be detected... it has a drastic impact on your life and the way you act.

Some people have chosen to embrace that darkness, and they therefore allow it to spread and eventually consume the heart. Utterly corrupting the body, and sending the person into a state of slow decay.

The decay is such a gradual process, thats its effect can only be realized after decades of living with a corrupted heart.

Over time, the decay will send you to a point where the heart has no other choice then to find solace within anothers.

The corrupted heart will possess the host it is attached to, and then begin to feed off of that hearts energy and light (or in some cases, darkness). The power recieved from from the bond will reverse the decay, and that person will be in a way, saved. But unless they push the darkness away, the decay will only begin again. And the process will continue, seemingly forever.

But, darkness is an addiction. And after years, months, or in some cases... hours, after giving into it, you simply cannot turn it away.

There is but one tool in this universe that can completely purge such darkness.

The "Keyblade".

The Keyblade is a magical weapon with immense power, but there are two sides to every coin.

Keyblades of the Light Realm provide the weilder with the ability to purge the darkness in hearts, destroy an evil being completely, and to even lock hearts away so that the darkness cannot corrupt them.

But, Keyblades of the Dark realm tell a different story. They possess the same powers as the blades of the light realm, but they also can turn on the wielder, given the wielder lacks strength.

It is this reason why Dark Realm Keyblades are approached with great caution.

Those corrupted by darkness and in a state of decay choose their hosts wisely, namely, hosts with the ability to wield such a keyblade. So while possessing the host, they can use such a weapon to their advantage, to perhaps lock the darkness in their heart, or perhaps to release it.

Aaron set the book back down... it all made perfect sense now. Who (or what...) Kusatte was, what he was doing, and why.

He paced back to the shelf lined against the south wall, and placed the book back into it's place.

Astra raised an eyebrow.

"Good to...see us...?" She said, a slight look of astonishment on her face. "Is that all you can say..? You left us with this bloodlust look in you eyes and that's what you come up with?"

Astra walked up to a chair and then to him. She pointed to the seat and said, "You're gonna tell us what's going on, Aaron.", her blue eyes stern and demanding.

Alexis watched Astra walk over. She really didn't want them to be having this conversation. She felt uneasy, and no doubt they did, too. Alexis couldn't help but feel this kind of confrontation couldn't end well.

She sighed, and bounced up inbetween Astra and Aaron. "I've got a better idea," She suggested. "Let's do something less.. um.. argumentative. Like go have ice cream again." She grinned. "That was fun. I think I might try something other than sea-salt.." Alexis tried to change the course of the conversation. She practically begged. "How about a race? Last one there pays?"

Aaron remained unattentive to Alexis' bickering as he plucked another book from the shelf and buried his nose into it.

He wasn't deliberatly trying to shove them away, but instead trying to drop a hint that he needed to be alone. Because he didn't want to confront them until he had all of his lines straight. He didnt want to tell them about what was happening if he had doubts.

Sitting in the rotating chair that was before the large desk, he spun around to turn his back to them.

"I'll talk to you guys later, once I have some set answers."

Astra's breath got caught in her throat. She closed her eyes and put on a face of serious acceptance.

"Fine."

She ran out of the library and didn't bother to look if Alexis was following. At that point, everything became a blur. She didn't care where she was going. She just didn't want to be there...

"We need answers too..." She whispered through gritted teeth.

Alexis glanced between Aaron and Astra. She exhaled loudly. Did she run after Astra to comfort her, or stay with Aaron to try to figure out what was going on? "Ugh," She moaned, and took a step after Astra. She'd disappeared, but Alexis could still hear the angry sounds of her breathing, and her stomping through the mansion. Alexis reached back and grabbed Aaron's hand. "C'mon, you've GOT to talk to her.."

Aaron couldn't deny the truth to Alexis' words. It pained him to see his friend in such a tragic emotional state...

"Astra, hold together, okay?" Aaron told himself.

"Alexis, I need you to make sure Astra doesnt go to any... extreme measures. Okay? Watch over her for me, because right now I have very important buisness to attend to." He said, trying to sound more mature then he actually was. "I'm counting on you Alexis, don't let me down."

Astra kept running. She didn't want to stop. She couldn't. She closed her eyes tighter and ran faster.

"I don't want to be there...Anywhere but there..."

She found herself going up some stairs. She reached a flat suface and opened her eyes.

The sunset she knew all to well dragged her up to the clocktower.

Alexis stared at Aaron for a moment, and bit her lip. "Okay.." She eventually agreed with a sigh. "But you've got to promise me that you'll come back soon. You're so.. so just out of it and distant. You can't do this to Astra and me again."

Before Aaron could answer her, Alexis spun on her heel, and started running after Astra. "Astra! Astra!" She eventually caught up to her. Panting, she dropped onto her usual spot beside her on the edge of the clocktower.

"Hey," Alexis's voice came out more tired than upset.

Aaron was increasingly thankful for Alexis' understanding.

She was younger, and therefore didnt understand the full gravity of the situation, unlike Astra, who's more mature, and knows exactly whats going down.

"I have good friends, and I can't let them down!" Aaron agressively stated to himself, slamming a fist onto the table.

He grasped another book, and flipped through the opening pages, reading the summary and author.

The author was anonymous, just like the others, and the summary was blank... but the title entrigued him.

"I gotta check this out..."

Sitting down with book in hand, he crammed his thoughts with its contents. And within a few moments, he had all his answers.

He unintentionally left the building with the book still in hand... but that didnt matter... he had to to show Astra this...

And Alexis, her too.

Astra looked away.

"Hey. Sit down. You look tired." She suggested almost emotionlessly. She stared back to the sunset and sighed. Her expression was serious. She was able to calm down and process what happened.

Astra straightened herself up. "I was immature...to have acted that way."

She looked at Alexis. Astra's blue eyes were sincere and still.

"I...I just didn't want to lose a friend. You and Aaron are the only precious things I have in this world..."

Alexis managed to smile. "Don't worry about it. It's okay, Astra. The only things I bother remembering are ice cream and money to buy the ice cream." She tapped the side of her head and grinned.

She sighed, and started braiding her hair. Running around in the woods had gotten her hair frizzy. "Stupid tree branches and nature for being all mean with all the sticks and the wind and the heat because of course my hair only gets frizzy in the darned heat and because I was there there was plenty of the darned--"

Alexis cut off, and sighed. "Alright, alright.."

((He doesnt show up yet... so quit godmodding my character, Lexi... ))

The gates relocked themselves upon Aarons exit. Closing together in the unearthly screech of rust grinding against stone.

Shaking it off, he returned to the forest and made his wasy to the tram common, where he rose the trolly to his exit and stopped off at the station, hurriedly rushing up the stairs to get to the top of the clock tower.

Astra and Alexis were always there in there spare time... he figured that wouldn't change.

Stopping before opening the door onto the sky high balcony, he again glanced at the book...

"Gummi Ships, and the science behind them."

Astra laughed once and smiled. Alexis cheered her up so quickly. She never wanted things to change.

Maybe a little, on the inside.

She stood up and walked over to Alexis. She started helping her take the twigs out of her hair. "I'm sorry if I made you worry. But...I fedl een sorrier for your hair!" Astra joked, laughing at Alexis.

"I know, right?" Alexis blew upwards, and her bangs splayed out. "You know what they should invent? Clearly they're more focused on giving boys gravity-defying hair, but some anti-frizz spray that actually worked would be helpful. Water just makes it worse." She sighed, and then grinned.

"Hey, do you want to play a game, Astra?" Alexis knew her smile seemed innocent enough, but there was an undertone to her voice that denied it. She practically begged in a way that was almost teasing Astra. Almost daring her to try. "It's really fun..."

Aaron pushed the door open and walked out onto the balcony. He casually sat next to them as if nothing had happened...

"Hey." he said in his typical emotionless voice. The book in his left hand, and his right hand grasping the balcony tightly.

Still afraid of heights, apparently.

He tossed the book to Astra,

"I think I found out what we need to know."

With that, he laid his back against the wall, and casually dozed off... leaving the book to them.

Astra gazed at the book skeptically. She elevated an eyebrow and then stared at Aaron. Sometimes, she really didn

"Well, I was thinking that we could..." Alexis trailed off, and leaned over Astra's shoulder for a better view of the book. "What is it?" She carefully inspected the pictures, and she froze on the same word as Astra. "A... Gummi Ship?" Alexis read aloud tentatively. She glanced over at Aaron. She couldn't tell if he was really asleep or just faking it. "Astra, what's a Gummi Ship?" Alexis's eyes lit up, and she grinned. "Sounds a heck of a lot like candy to me..." She yanked the book from Astra's grip. "Let me see it! Stop bogging the book!"

(fail post is fail >.<)

No one could sleep with the ruckus they were making, least of all Aaron, who could(and would) wake up if a needle dropped.

Sitting back up, he grabbed the book from both their hands, settling their dispute with a swift motion.

"Don't you guys see?" he said, excitedly jumping to his feet, "This is our way off of this place!"

He opened to a specific page and showed them a description...

"Gummi Ships are the common way of intergalactic travel. Allowing the adventurer, the hero, and the tourist to explore where they choose."

"It's all here! Everything we need to get off this spit of land..."

Astra took in a deep breath of air. Her eyes lit up and a wide grin grew on her lips. "W-we can..?" She muttered, almost unable to speak. This was their dream that they've had for a long time. Ever since they met, what brought them together was their desire to see more and experience more than this world.

Astra couldn't help the feeling of utter joy in her heart. She stood up and wrapped her arms around Aaron.

"Thank you..!"

Finally, they could get out into the open. Be more and make something of themselves.

Aaron was blown away... he'd never been hugged before from anyone outside of family.

It was... a unique feeling for him. But, not a bad one. As she held him, it felt as if a feeling that had forever lied dormant suddenly awoke. He involuntarily draped his arms over her, in acceptance of the embrace.

His cheeks turned a bright red color, and he stepped away from her, slightly embarassed.

"Eheh..." he muttered, was it laughter? Aaron wasn't one for humor.

"You're very welcome..." he answered, fnally, after having stumbled over his own words for a good thirty seconds.

((I just knew you'd break your own rules eventually x3))

Alexis's eyes widened. "Really? 'Inter-something' travel?" She jumped up. "Yes! That's awesome! I got tired of this place a looong time ago. We could to--" She cut off abruptly, and Alexis frowned. "How do we know that there are other worlds...? I mean, what if we're just hoping there are, but there's really just here?"

When Astra started hugging Aaron, Alexis giggled. She knew it'd annoy them, so she happily sang. "Astra and Aaron sittin' in a tree--"

Astra's eyes widened a little, but then she laughed. She ruffled Alexis' hair a little with her palm and got the book.

"Well, where do we find a Gummi Ship? Or, rather, is it really real and not just fantasy..?"

She was really hoping that it was true and not just words on paper. Astra wanted to see and explore something other than THIS.

"Well..?"

She turned to Aaron and stared with her blue eyes, desperate for an answer.
