I just realized something: When Xehanort was training Ventus so he'd make the X-blade, he was using Neoshadows to train him. Does this mean that Xehanort was the creator of heartless long before Ansem started his experiments, as well as could that be why he managed to retain his human form when he became a heartless? Also, obviously, he had control over the Neoshadows, why didn't he use them to fight off Aqua and keep her away from Terra and Ven when he was enacting his plan (not that it would have helped anyway since they also helped stop his plan, but still)?

No the Heartless have always existed, since darkness has existed. "Ansem" only caused the creation of the Emblem Heartless.

im not sos sure abotu that. but kairis grandmas story proves that since the light and darkness fight there have been heartless.

No remeber in 358 2 days, they are called purebreads, not fully heartless. They don't have the abitily to capture hearts.

no not exacly xehanort controls darkness and there were heartless at the time (as far as i know they have been there since darkness exicted) but since xehanort can control darkness and thats really all that neoshadows are they appeared... ansem on the other hand did a terrible deed to bring them back and technecally it wasnt him it was his aprentices(acording to secret reports on KHII) but no he didnt create them (ps not sure this is correct but this is what i have been told)

The Pureblood heartless was before the events of BBS but Ansem Seeker of Darkness was the creator of the Emblem heatless

Oh, okay...I guess I missed that one. Still though, why wouldn't he have used them, or at least summoned them?

Heartless have existed as long since there was darkness in people's hearts. Master Xehanort was merely able to summon them into the Realm of Light. Apprentice Xehanort was the one who created the Emblem Heartless, and in doing so, also spawned Purebloods in the RoL.

 

As for why he didn't use them against Aqua, he didn't even consider her a possible threat. Having her play such a big role was not according to plan.
