Remember back in January, when I posted what would happen if there was a crossover between Sonic X and KRBAY? Well, NOW I'm thinking of just crossing over the two game series. The title I'm thinking of is "Sonic and Kirby: Two Dimensions."
Premise: "Dr. Eggman has revived the villainous Dark Matter, and seeks to use its power to conquer both Sonic's and Kirby's dimensions. While battling against Sonic, Eggman strips the Hedgehog of both his boosting ability and his Homing Attack. Kirby, meanwhile, has been forced into Sonic's world by Metal Sonic, Eggman's right-hand man. When Sonic and Kirby meet, they initially have a misunderstanding; Sonic mistakes Kirby for Dark Matter, and Kirby mistakes Sonic for his Metal counterpart. After realizing that they're both really on each other's side, the two heroes and their allies must band together and put a stop Eggman's Dark Matter scheme, as well as destroy the race's revived leader, EggRobo Zero."
There are two playable characters; Sonic and Kirby. Their respective gameplays come in two different styles; Sonic, who's been limited to his Classic gameplay, and Kirby, who retains his signature "inhale the enemy and take their powers" style, as well as both his ability fusion AND his Robobot Armor; the fusion gameplay works for the Robobot as well. The map layout of a zone is the same as the Kirby series, but is divided into large sections of eaither character's "Act", as with the Sonic series. What this means is, Sonic gets Act 1 of a world, while Kirby gets Act 2 (further example: a Sonic level is slated as "Act 1-section", while a Kirby level is slated as "Act 2-section"). Each character have a boss at the end of their respective acts, fighting either Eggman, Dark Matter, or another character.
There are fifteen different zones in total, which involves traveling between both dimensions; Distant Plains, Ancient Tomb, Roundabout Casino, King Dedede's Castle, Mystic Cave, Apple Forest, Taken Lava Reef, Treasure Beach, Egg Fleet, Rotting Kingdom, Sandopolis, Halberd Storm, Aquatic Ruin, Neo Death Egg, and finally, Doomsday's Return, which spells "DARK MATTER'S HAND." Every zones' design has elements from both "Sonic" and "Kirby"; for example, the Taken Lava Reef contains parts of the factory of "Kirby 64"'s Shiver Star, while Halberd Storm contains pieces of Flying Battery from "Sonic & Knuckles". Each zone has 7 sections for an Act, all of which have special stages that unlocks each Chaos Emerald, either with Sonic or Kirby, which is required to get to Doomsday's Return, which is just a single Act by itself. Sonic's special stages are exactly the ones in S3&K, while Kirby's are rooms where you fight a mini-boss. To achieve Sonic's, you must have 30 rings in hand at a checkpoint. For Kirby's, a certain ability fusion must be used to unlock the giant boulder emblazing that fusion's symbol, whether it be in base form or in a Robobot.
The other fourteen zones have a section of there two Acts that holds a "Boss Key", which, obviously, is needed for the Act's boss. Any sections that DON'T have a Boss Key instead have Red Rings scattered throughout, which unlock the postgame modes "Meta Knightmare & Knuckles" and the two Arena modes, as well as artwork and special Robobot stickers.
Sorry if this was bit TOO long. What do YOU guys think of this? Obviously, this game would be a Switch exclusive.
