So if you've watched "Boruto: The Movie", The Boruto anime, The Naruto anime (Part 1 and Shippuden) or even read the manga of all three, I can assume that you are familiar with the characters of Naruto and Boruto. I have seen some positive reactions to the new series for the most part, but if there's one complaint I see over and over again, it's this:
"I don't like Boruto as a character." "Boruto's sucks as a character." "Boruto isn't interesting." "I hate Boruto's personality."
In short... NOBODY. LIKES. BORUTO. HIMSELF.
And honestly...I get that. Boruto personality wise, based off of people's opinions, is basically Naruto if he had parents, his father was hardly ever around, and if he whined a lot. Even by design with his banana hair, Boruto is very similar to Naruto when he was a child, leaving those veterans who have seen all of Naruto beforehand with a straight copy of original protagonist with small changes. Personally, even if he can be a little brat, I like Boruto as a character and I am interested to see if his personality will change and grow.
With all that said, here's my question: How would you right Boruto's character personality?
And I'm not asking to get the simple answer of: "I would make him cooler." No, no, no, no, no. NO. That is a BASIC BORING A** ANSWER that just barely answers the question.
What I mean is how would he act, how smart would he be, what does he like, dislike, how would he be acting in certain situations, ect. If you agree with these criticisms of Boruto's character or just have an idea, how would you write Boruto's character in full detail?
(My Idea)
If I were writing Boruto's character, I would respect the personality of his in the first movie. After that, then there would be a change: Boruto would be that of a trickster. He would be very creative in his ways of handling a certain conflict. He'd learn how to use Disguising Justu to make him look like a person with 100% accuracy in detail that makes the person that person. Boruto would learn how to even change his clothing in a blink of an eye (or in this case, a puff of smoke) to trick others or just to make jokes. You could say that Boruto is sort of 'crazy' in a way. In the face of danger, he'll still make a smart-alec comment and grin, not having one bit of seriousness in his face. Outside of battle, Boruto is rather positive and carefree even in the most depressing environments. He's always willing to help no matter the situation. If one were to call him insane or mad crazy, he would agree with a smile. Boruto can be rather teasing though in a playful and joking way depending on the person in the situation. Boruto can be unpredictable as he can do something that no one else would think about doing. Once Boruto has a better idea on someone's personality, he can predict on what that person might do or say next. Now the latter can stay the same as he now respects his father, cares for his sister, likes hamburgers, video games, ect. He hates being left out in the open or in other words, not knowing what's happening especially when his friends and family know. He also doesn't like guys who are all talk and no show, viewing them as pretty annoying. And of course, he wants to go on his on Ninja Way and not follow the coattails of his father.
