Allan did not receive much warning, if none at all. Within a second, Aldrich was in front of Allan, each arm on either side as he blocked all possible exits. His eyes were sharp as he glared at Allan, taking the moment that Michael wasn't around. "What does he see in you?" Aldrich asked, his tone sincerely confused as he leaned closer to Allan. "You don't smell good. You aren't that strong. You're human." Aldrich spoke, muttering under his breath utterly bewildered as he stared at Allan like if he was the most unusual thing he had ever seen. "You don't even look similar to Clay. Your personality is way off too." Aldrich suddenly let go of Allan, taking a few steps back as he crossed his arms. He remained silent for a few moments, before glaring back. "You know you're only temporary, right?" He asked, looking over at Allan. "You are human. You are mortal. You can, and will die. Maybe a lifetime from now, but to us it's merely a dent in time. You know this. Michael knows this. You're merely...a fling. A temporary catch. A toy who will eventually get broken and be thrown away." Aldrich pointed at Allan. "Do what you like. I won't stop you. Make Michael happy if you wish to, if that makes you happy too. As long as he's happy, then I will stay content...but know this, Othello." Aldrich said as he gently stepped besides him, leaning down to whisper into his ear. "You think yourself high enough to be fit for a member of the Cassio family? A human who will expire? You're just another human that will eventually die on him, like every single one before you. And when you do, the one who will be there to comfort him will be me. So do us a favor, and spare him, and yourself the pain...we both know he's suffered enough as it is." Aldrich warned, his tone cold as he gently straightened his back. "You can go running to Michael now...it's all you know what to do, after all." With that, Aldrich walked away, leaving Allan to his thoughts.

Within a blink of an eye, Allan was suddenly cornered to the back of the nearby wall, all exits blocked, Allan shutting his eyes tight, scared Aldrich was going to try to charm him or something.

"I guess the reason why Michael likes me is the fact that I'm different." Allan shrugged Aldrich off.

Allan then fell silent as Aldrich finished his sentence. He thought. Aldrich was right...whether Allan liked it or not. Michael was hundreds of years older than him and time moved too swift for Michael. Allan was only a temporary thing in Michael's life. Allan froze as Aldrich leaned to his ear...and as soon as Aldrich walked away, Allan was still frozen in place. Aldrich was right. His words tugged at Allan's heart as he got his stuff ready and walked down to Michael's car, getting in and shutting the door like he was a piece of stone.

"Michael...I am not a burden to you, right? I know I'm a human and that I have a short life span compared to yours but...I'm not wasting your time as your partner...right...?" Allan turned his head slightly to Michael, his hands trembling as he held onto Michael's book.

Aldrich was right about everything he had said.

"I know I'm nothing special, and I don't want you wasting your time and your feelings on me...if that makes sense..." Allan turned his head out the window again, watching the road pass by.

Had the Warden made a mistake? Had he made a mistake loving his partner so dear?

Michael began to drive off to their destination, but was caught off guard from the question. He glanced over at Allan. "Allan." Michael turned his eyes back to the road, stopping at a red light before turning to face him. "Allan, what has gotten into you? You're not a burden to me. You're human, yes, but that's what makes you special. You are able to see things I cannot. Provide a perspective that otherwise I could not see." Michael picked up Allan's hand, holding it tightly. "You're my partner. You've proven to be more than a capable detective. You're not a waste of time, Allan. You're a member of M&M, and very important to me. We're a team, remember?" Michael asked, giving Allan a smile. He gently let go of him as the light changed to green, proceeding to drive off. "Now relax, alright? We'll be there soon. The academy is located in the furthest side of the Hanerae District. Much like the jail, it is pretty well hidden, but closer to home. It's not the only one of its kind, but it's the one for this area of the country." Michael said as he drove. It took him to the most arid part of the city. Rarely any vegetation, and the one that did exist were extensively taken care of. The temperatures here rose higher than in other areas, even now the temperature rose. Driving past the urban and commercial areas, they reached the Hanarae desert. The desert located itself outside the city, beyond the same district which shared its name, all the way to another city beyond. One could see the shifting dunes in the horizon as Michael drove across the sand, following the directions on his phone as they drove to a range of mountains ahead. As they approached, one would believe to see the sands shift...or something shifting within it. Before Allan or Michael could question it, on Allan's side, a large eye was looking through the window straight at him as they drove. Michael smiled as he looked up. "It's the Amphisbaena. It protects the entrance. Must have smelled you." Michael chuckled as the giant creature followed them for a while. Michael lowered the window as he extended his hand, allowing the creature to smell him. "We're one of you." He hummed. The creature smelled for a moment, before disappearing back into the sands. As they reached the mountain range, the creature shifted the sands, revealing an entrance. Michael drove through before the creature hid the entrance back with sand again. At the end of the dark tunnel one could see an exit. When they reached the end, they were greeted by the academy grounds. It was surrounded by water, large waterfalls echoing as ancient structures stood above the water. On top of it all, the academy, looking as majestic as ever. Michael drove them to the academy itself, following the given path.

Allan looked down at Michael's hand as it held his. Aldrich was right...but Michael was even more correct. Allan's relationship with Michael is because they are both partners and detectives.

"We are a team.  I compliment your weaknesses and you compliment mine. That's what makes us work so well together, and what makes us friends." Allan smiled slightly to Michael.

While Michael drove, Allan thew his head into his book, looking up creatures who were known to be pranksters. Sadly, that did not get Allan very far. Ghost, puccas, goblins, and many other creatures were known to be pranksters. As they drove deeper into the Hanerae district, Allan put his book down, more paying attention to the vast desert around him then the research he could be doing. They got closer, something came flying over to Allan's window, looking dead at him and more or less scaring the shit out of him. Michael showed no fer, so Allan suppressed his.

"Hello,  Amphisbaena." Allan stuck his hand out the window and greet the creature, is acknowledging Allan and letting them pass.

They passed through a tunnel the sand dunes opened up, and at the end, Libri Academy came into view.

"This place is huge!!" Allan stuck his head out the window a little bit, looking around.

"Are all monster schools like this?" He then asked Michael as they parked.

The Principal knew as soon as Michael's red car pulled up that those were the M&M agents. Allan stepped out of the car with his bag followed by Michael as the principal ran up to them.
"Thank goodness you two are here! You are just in time!" The principal grabbed Allan's hands and lead them off immediately without an introduction or anything.

"This just happened not even five minuets ago!" The principal lead Allan and Michael to one of the statues in the court yard, which was in the middle of a large fountain. The statue had been decorated in various regions of its body in underwear from both women and men.

"Oh my." Allan tried not to laugh in front of the statue.

This was golden. A practical joke. Was there anything really wrong with this?

Edited by Lady Aleister

The kids laughed loudly as they took photos of the prank. Here, they were allowed to be themselves. Even the mermaids, who were either were carried by friends, rolled in wheelchairs or swam in the designated water paths. Tails were wagging, ears perking up as they looked at the statue. The statue of the school's founder stood proudly...while wearing random assortments of underwear. Michael tried his best to contain his laughter, leaning against Allan as he hid his face from the principal. The principal, however, was exasperated, quickly turning to the students. "Everyone is to retreat back into the buildings! This courtyard is off limits until further notice!" The principal announced. The students complained, quietly going back inside as the other faculty and staff helped to round them back in. The principal was a Lamia, from her hips upwards bearing the body of a female human, but from the bottom down, having the long and tail of a snake to match her body proportion. She wore the top part of a standard suit, her bright orange scales standing out. "My name is Lynn Bell. I am the principal of this academy. You have no idea how happy I am to finally have you here, detectives." She spoke. "With all due respect, these kinds of pranks don't seem very harmful." Michael began. "This is mild compared to everything else that has already happened! Chairs welded together! Just last month we had to close an entire sector of the aquatic routes because someone had stuffed the filters with dead rats! We had to disinfect the entire area! At first it was innocent but it has been getting progressively worse. The worst part is we don't know whether it will be evil or innocent until it actually happens." Lynn insisted, sighing. "The faculty and I have been doing our best to find out the cause, but we have gotten nowhere. Just last week a teacher quit out of fear after someone left a noose inside her room!...please, please help us solve this. We fear it might end up actually hurting someone." "We understand. We will do our best to find out the root of this. When did this all even start?" "About 2 months ago, just at the beginning of the semester. It began with whoopie cushions and thrown around books in the library. The first incident where we began to worry was when a student found all of the acrylics paints in one of the classrooms had been replaced with blood." Lynn explained.

  • Author

"Well Ms. Bell, this may sound strange, but we are going to need to see a record of any new students that have come to the school at the beginning of the new semester, and any record you have of continuing trouble makers who still go here would be helpful. But...it would probably be easier if you could pull the video feed of security cameras. I am sure that this school has a security system other than that lovely snake...correct?" Allan told Lynn like it was.
"O-Of course! Please follow me. I can get some janitors down here." Lynn was about to walk off when Allan stopped her.
"Wait. We aren't done here yet. If the prankster fumbled with this underwear directly, there should be some clue left behind. I do not quite have the ability, but my partner may be able to detect something I cannot."
"You are an...interesting detective." Lynn stuttered as she stepped back, letting Allan and Michael do what they need to do.
"I know." Allan smiled to Lynn before turning to Michael.
"It would just be easier if she could get us security footage." He whispered to Michael as they gazed upon the statue.

"I was thinking maybe if the prankster touched the underwear directly they may have left their scent on them...I don't know. There isn't really anything to point at right yet. I need to narrow everything down." Allan then explained, stepping up on the edge of the fountain, reaching out carefully and grabbing a pair of underwear from the fountain.

"I was taught not to touch the undergarments of a lady, but for men's, is a different story." Allan nudged Michael on the shoulder before laughing a little.

Edited by Lady Aleister

Michael.exe had stopped working, his face turning as red as the blood he drank when he heard Allan's comment. He cleared his throat, rubbing the back of his head bashfully. He turned to Lynn. "Where do you keep the security footage? Is there any way we could see it here to compare?" Michael asked. Lynn hummed. "Yes, I'll give a call. Please give me a moment." Lynn said as she turned away, taking out her cellphone before calling someone. Michael pulled on his collar as his face slowly returned to normal. He walked over to the fountain, helping Allan get the clothes off the fountain. They were of different sizes and patterns. Michael glanced at Allan. "I really don't feel comfortable smelling any of these." Michael confessed. Smelling a belonging, like a shirt or a pair of pants was one thing. To smell underwear was...definitely not something he has been required to do before. He did it regardless, taking a small sniff before moving on. His eyes narrowed slightly. "These all belong to different people. Different scents. There's only one that matches, the perpetrator but...unless I'm anywhere close to them, I won't be able to sniff them out. We should've brought Draven over." Michael groaned, looking around at the courtyard. Soon, Lynn had returned with a tablet. "Here, this is the security footage from just a few moments ago. The data for known trouble makers and new entries this year should be uploading at the moment." Lynn explained. Michael pulled up the security footage, but amazingly enough, only made the case even more puzzling. The footage showed everything was rather normal, yet, for a single moment, the footage shorted out into static, and the moment it came back to record, the underwear was already there. Michael rubbed his head. "This won't help at all." He complained. "My apologies, but every video of every incident has been like that. Every time we've been called from security to check only to find the prank already done." Lynn sighed, bowing her head. "I'm sorry, but you must excuse me. I must return to work. But please, feel free to investigate everything you seem fit. I will be in my office. Call if you need anything of me." Lynn said as she turned, slithering away back into the building. As Michael pulled up the data of the students, he could feel a headache arriving. It was extensive. Very. "I don't know how we're going to do this." Michael admitted, turning to Allan. "There's so many students. Unless we interview every single one, we might have to just scour around for clues until we find something." Michael admitted, looking down at the data. "How about we divide ourselves? If you take the east wing, I'll take the west. We'll just interview in general asking what they know...does that sound alright?"

  • Author

Allan giggled to himself seeing Michael blush wildly.

"Revenge from what you did last night~" He said lowly, trying not to crack up at how uncomfortable Michael was.

You gotta do what you gotta do.

"At least there is a common scent throughout." Allan pointed out just before Lynn walked over to them with a tablet showing the security footage.

Of course, it didn't show anything.

"The perpetrator knows how to distort video then...interesting." Allan noted that down as Michael pulled up the data of the students.

"That sounds easier than interviewing almost the entire school. I'll keep up with you through text. We'll meet back here in two hours." Allan took a deep breath, and then headed off to the east wing of the school.

This was going to be like finding a needle in a haystack. During the first thirty minuets, only one person would talk to Allan. The student answered the questions Allan had composed with "I don't know"s and "Why are you trying to figure this out? It's funny and not causing any real problems". During the first hour, Allan only had three people who had actually talked to him, and only one giving any real straight answers. During the second hour...instead of people actually answering questions for Allan...some of them would pick on him for being human and called him a creep, and some other not so nice things that Allan let slide off his back. Finally, the end of the second hour hit, and Allan rushed back over to the court yard, sitting on the edge of the fountain and waiting on Michael.

"Who are you?" Surrounding Allan were a group of kids. Among them was a young girl with snakes for hair, who seemed to be the ring leader, a boy with large, floppy bunny ears on one side as a girl with wings for arms. "I haven't seen you around here. Are you a new kid?" The girl asked, poking at Allan. "You're pretty short...and you smell weird. Human" She hummed. "Is he really a human?" The boy asked. "Humans aren't allowed in here." The girl insisted. "Must be a half-breed." The leader mused. She glared at Allan, pointing at him. "You should get out while you can. No one likes humans here. So you better book it before I make you!" She threatened. "Allan?" Michael called, walking over to the scene. Before Allan could react, the leader pushed Allan right into the fountain with a splash before the group ran off with laughter. "Hey!" Michael yelled, running after them, but stopping to help Allan out of the fountain. "Geez, no matter how many years pass kids are still mean." Michael said as he quickly helped Allan out, holding him closer. Though he paused, his eyes glistening as he got an idea. "They think you're a student." He began, looking down at Allan. "I think this is our chance, Allan...you could go undercover!" Michael suggested, smiling brightly at Allan.

"I'm not a new kid, I'm a detective sent here to figure out who has been causing these pranks." Allan swatted the snake-girls hand away from him.

"I'm from M&M, I work there. Humans are allowed here too. I don't care if nobody wants me here you guys are just going to have to deal with--" Suddenly, the group shoved him into the fountain, thankfully it wasn't deep, but they did get him wet.

"What the f*** come back here you little shits!!" Allan yelled after the group before Michael quickly came rushing to his aid, helping him up and out of the fountain.

"They don't know any better." Allan said, quickly getting his wallet, cellphone and some other things out of his pockets, pulling off his wet uniform jacket, flipped his wet hair back, and thought about what Michael just suggested.

"On the circumstances you are around...I could make do. I'm not going to any classes though." Allan's brown eyes glanced to Michael.

So, the plan was put into action. Lynn was more than happy to supply Allan with a boys uniform, and to accept the plan. Thank god Lynn had some sense on her and agreed it was brilliant. Allan changed, and after putting his stuff into his black backpack...he looked like any other student there.

"This better work." Allan said to Michael as they walked back out to the courtyard.

"Oh wait." He stopped his partner, taking the school uniform jacket off and tossing it into his bag.

He pulled Michael closer suddenly, and stole Michael's M&M uniform jacket right off his back.

"I don't want to smell entirely human." Allan put his partners jacket on.

It was a bit too big, but he held it tightly to his body.

"Wish me luck." He winked to Michael, and followed the crowd of students heading off to their evening meal.

(I would assume that it would be around evening taking into the account of driving hours plus the two/three hours they spent solo investigating)

Luckily, Allan agreed with the plan. Principal Lynn agreed with it as well, providing Allan with a uniform and a school map. They would be investigating together, all while separate. "You know to call me in case of anything. You can make up a fake name to pretend, if you see it fit. You need to decide what kind of creature you are going to be. You can't be jumping around back and forth in claims or else they'll get suspicious. If you need to use my last name, I won't mind." Michael teased as he handed Allan a piece of paper. "Your 'dorm' will be with me in a guest room in the faculty wing. This is the room number, so you don't forget it. Be careful. I'll be around investigating through the staff and other parts prohibited to the students." Michael said. He didn't expect for Allan to pull him over so closely, and in all honesty, expected a kiss, not for him to steal his jacket. "H-Hey!" Michael yelled. He groaned, waving at him. "Contact me if anything!" And like that, Allan was gone.

Allan would've reached the dinning hall. It was huge, with long tables stretching across the entire hall, offering seats to up to 100 students at a time. In one area, separated by a railing was the water area for the aquatic students. The ramp led to the deep pool area fitted with built in tables for them to swim up and eat. It was full, students chattering as they sat at their tables in groups. If Allan was looking for people to talk to, there were more than enough. "You again?" A familiar voice chimed in. Behind Allan stood the girl from earlier, along with the boy and the girl as well. "I thought I told you to scram off!" She said, crossing her arms as her snakes hissed at Allan in union. The boy sniffed Allan, before gasping and hiding behind the snake-haired girl. "H-He smells different! He smells-!" He began, but the other girl finished his thoughts. "Like a vampire." She gasped. The leader glanced at their eyes before looking back down at Allan. "You smelled human earlier...a Dhampir?"

  • Author

"Samael Cassio, the Dhampir at your service." Allan quickly thew a name together, agreeing with the Dhampir assumption.
A Dhampir was a good assumption. There was no way in hell he was drinking blood though.
"It is not very polite telling people you do not know to scram off...and pushing me into that fountain was just uncalled for." Allan scold at the group.
"You smelt human! We had a reason!" The snake-girl defended herself.
The rest of the group nodded their heads.
"Still not a good reason." Allan wiggled his finger at them.
The group sat in front of Allan.
"It was funny though." The winged girl commented rudely.
"Are you new here or something?" The boy with bunny ears asked.
"I was sort of forced here..ya." Allan stared at their food.
"Did you catch that prank earlier? Priceless!!" The winged girl asked Allan.
"Here it is." The snake-girl showed Allan a picture of the statue on her phone.
"I saw...what was that about?" Allan pulled his phone, texting Michael.

To Michael:

Please get me some
food ;; These people think I'm a Dhampir and I don't know if they drink blood or eat food ;;

"It's just a funny thing, those pranks~ No harm done." The bunny boy smiled to Allan as he ate.
"Do you guys know who is doing it? I wouldn't mind getting in on that."
The snake-girl almost spit out her food laughing.
"You think we are going to tell some new kid? Ya right. You're going to have to get to know this place before you figure that out." She got a smirk on her face and pointed her fork at Allan.
"Too bad~" the bird girl giggled at Allan.

Edited by Lady Aleister

To Allan:

Really? A Dhampir? What are you? My kid now??? Anyways, Dhampir's can eat human food. It won't hurt your image. I'll drop by and bring you food, regardless.

The young girl with snakes in her hair pointed at herself. "My name is Viola Feri. These are my friends, Jesina, a Harpy and Noah, a skin-walker." Viola explained as she pointed at herself proudly. "As you can see, I am a Gorgon." She said as the snakes in her hair hissed in union. "You're lucky, Samael. You've just made friends with the coolest kids in the entire academy! You'll have to earn our trust and respect, though. But for a Dhampir, a half-vampire, that shouldn't be much of a problem, now would it?" Viola asked as she proceeded to eat. She picked up a dead mouse from her plate, before throwing it into the air, one of her snakes catching it and swallowing it whole. Noah looked over at Samael. "Cassio, as in the hospitals? No wonder you're here! I would be surprised if you were forced to attend at a human school." Noah said. Viola groaned. "Yeah, that does sound boring." Viola agreed. She glanced over, smirking as she saw someone in the distance. "Hey, Jesina." Viola said, pointing at someone. Jesina looked up, chuckling to herself. Into the hall walked three students; Maya Oliva, a female centaur, Jocelin Karplus, a demon, and Ren Badot, a merman who wore the top of the school uniform, resting on Maya's back as she carried him everywhere. "Hey, Noah." Viola rose a mouse corpse from her plate. "Let's see how high can that merman go?" She asked. Noah smiled. "Yes mam." He poked the mouse, suddenly disappearing as he transferred himself into the corpse. As he possessed it, the mouse came to life, jumping off from Viola's hands as it jumped from the table and down to the floor. Viola was quick to clear her throat. "Maya! What's that around your feet? Is that a mouse?" Viola asked as Maya walked by, loudly as she smiled. "Huh?" Maya asked, looking down around her hooves. Just as she did, Noah ran to her, running up her leg as he looked at her with big eyes. That's when hell broke loose as it went in chain reaction. Maya's eyes widened, screaming loudly in horror as she began to stomp the ground beneath, moving around desperately. "GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF GET IT OFF!!!" Maya screamed. Ren struggled to remain on as Maya shifted wildly. "M-Maya!!!" Ren called, Jocelin trying her best to calm her friend down. Maya ended up jumping, trying to get the mouse off her, which ended up sending Ren flying right into the air. "Ren!!!" Jocelin yelled, running over to catch him. Instead Ren ended up falling into the pool area, saving him from a nasty fall, but in turn creating a huge splash which ended up splashing high into the air and getting multiple tables and their students wet. Jocelin, while trying to get Ren, ran right into another student, the two falling over and knocking another table over. Maya screamed at the verge of tears, her hind legs kicking a table behind her, sending the table flying and crashing a few feet away right into another table, students running for cover. Noah eventually got off, leaving the corpse behind as he returned to his seat almost in a teleporting matter. Maya eventually calmed down when she didn't feel the mouse, but once she saw its corpse, she screamed again, jumping onto the nearest table to get away from it. By this point, Viola and Jesina were in tears with laughter. "Bet you don't see this in human schools, huh?"

"Please don't brag too much." Allan feigned flattery, smiling to Noah.

Viola called to somebody, and then a small prank unfold in front of Allan's eyes. Through the ways of Noah and Viola, they sent a centaur into a frenzy, and a merman flying. It was a frenzy, and it was not as funny as Viola and the others made it out to be.

"No. We do not see things like this in human schools because human schools are quite boring, but at least civilized." Allan's tongue snapped without thinking about it much.

"You think we are uncivilized?" Viola's snakes turned to Allan.

"That was funny Samael. What's your problem?" Jesina rolled her eyes at Allan.

"I don't think you're uncivilized, I just think that was a little uncalled for." Allan began sending a text to Michael again.

To Michael:

Your kid? More like your husband LOL. Just bring me food < 3 Also, I met three monsters who are quite the troublemakers. Viola, a gorgon, Jesina, a harpy, and Noah, a skin-walker. They just pulled a not-so-funny prank on three monsters and just caused quite the mess.

Unsurprisingly, Viola, Jesina, and Noah did not get in trouble by the staff of the school.

"Uncalled for, blah blah blah." Jesina mocked.

"That was not cool." Allan stood up, moving over to Maya, Ren and Jocelin.

"Are you three okay?" he asked to Maya and Jocelin, looking down to Ren.

"That was not very funny...I am sorry about that." Allan bowed his head slightly.

"I'm Samael Cassio. Dhampir." he offered his hand to Jocelin.

Edited by Lady Aleister

Jocelin looked up, taking Allan's hand as she stood. "Hello...I'm Jocelin." The young demon said, quickly turning to face her friends. Maya seemed to be at the verge of years while she worried over Ren, who seemed to be more annoyed over the fact that his uniform had gotten wet. "You're a Dhampir? So, you're like us?" Jocelin asked, looking up at him. Viola seemed annoyed. "Seriously?" Viola asked, crossing her arms towards Samael. "Samael, you're interacting with the half-bloods! If you're not careful they'll cover you in human stench!" She insisted. Jocelin's tail wagged angrily as she growled, showing off her fangs. "Don't trust them, Samael, they are bullies to half-bloods!" Jocelin said, pointing at them. "I'm giving you a chance, Samael. Being a Dhampir is a game changer. You're extremely unique, and you're half-vampire. That makes you more vampire than human...unless you consider yourself to be more human than Vampire?" Jocelin asked, glaring as her snake heads hissed. Among the hall, the students simply watched. Some half breeds seemed to turn away from the discussion, avoiding to make themselves a target. Ren swam to the edge of the pool, pulling himself up so he could point at Viola. "Shut it snake-head! You're the only one here who has a problem with half-breeds attending the school!" Ren yelled. Viola growled loudly, her snakes hissing even louder as her friends stood up in case of an encounter. Quickly, however, Michael showed up with Lynn. "What is going on here?!" Lynn asked, and just like that the hall went quiet. Viola was quick to respond, however. "I dropped my mouse and Maya freaked out over it. Poor thing went on a rampage." Viola explained. "Yup. Couldn't really stop a rampaging centaur." Noah added. Michael looked around as Lynn looked at Maya. "Mya, is that the truth?" Lynn asked. Maya thought about it for a moment, before nodding. "Yes. I'm sorry...mice scare me." Maya said lowering her ears. Jocelin was about to speak, but bit her tongue, looking away. Lynn sighed. "Everyone is to leave for clean up. Effective; now." Lynn said. Quickly everyone began to pick up their stuff and leave. Viola glared at Allan. "You've chosen a side. Good luck, half-breed." With that, she and her friends left. Lynn could feel a headache rising. "I didn't know the tensions of the full breed and half-breed issue still existed." Michael admitted. "They shouldn't. But some kids...are quite ruthless about it. One thing is to put a stop to it...another thing is to actually being able to if the student doesn't say anything." Lynn said. "I noticed." Michael said, getting a hand to his chin as he watched Maya chat up with Ren by the pool area. He turned, quickly handing Allan a lunch bag. "Here you go. Don't...get into trouble." Michael said, sighing at the end as he leaned in to his ear. "I'll do some digging and message you anything I find. Until then, see what you can find...and dammit, stop getting yourself into trouble." Michael whispered, gently placing a kiss on his cheek before standing up and turning to Lynn. "Right. Let us return?" "Lets." Lynn and Michael walked away. Jocelin looked up at Michael as her tail formed in the shape of a heart, looking over to Allan. "Who's he?" She asked, before shaking her head. "And...thanks for standing up for us. Though now I worry that you'll be a target too."

"Viola, is this what all this unnecessary bullying is about? Being half-blood? I am more human than vampire, and if that is going to bother you than so be it. I will not allow people to be bullied so harshly." Allan spoke up against her.

However, he hushed up as Lynn and Michael arrived, keeping himself from going to Michael and standing with the half-breeds. It was better to let Maya talk then to tell Lynn the truth, but she would learn soon enough. Allan paid very little head to Viola's threat, but he probably should have, because Viola, Jocelin, and Noah could potentially seriously hurt him. As Maya, Ren, and Jocelin turned to speak to each other, Allan made his way to Michael.

"Thank you." Allan accepted the bag.

"Trouble is my middle name." he teased to Michael, his face blushing as he felt the kiss on his cheek.

Allan cleared his throat as Jocelin suddenly spoke to him.

"That is my brother." Allan quickly threw a relation together.

"Why did he kiss your cheek then." Jocelin asked a little concerned.

"Because he is a weirdo and that's what family is supposed to do." Allan laughed lightly.

"It was the right thing to do. What they did was uncalled for. I know how to take care of myself but thank you for your concern." Allan smiled at Jocelin.

"Let's stick together, alright? Now I don't know my way around this place, could I maybe have a grand tour?" he then asked the group.

"Sure!" Maya smiled at him.

"Ren, if you need any help, I'm stronger than I look." Allan offered.

"Thank you!" the merman smiled back.

Maya, Ren, and Jocelin showed Allan around the campus, it was huge and very complex. They let Allan eat and showed Allan good spots to hang out. Soon the sun began to set, and the students had to get back to their dorms.
"Thank you guys." Allan smiled as they part ways.

It was nice to be able to talk to people who were not criminals or detectives. Allan found his way to the faulty dorm, and to the room number, Michael had given him earlier that day. He opened up the door without knocking, entering and splatting himself right on top of the made-up bed.

"I know my way around this place now." Allan turned his head around to look at Michael.

"Here is your jacket back." Allan took it off, handing it to his partner.

"And you don't have to make me blush so hard in front of others!" he scold, smiling to him.

Michael took his jacket back, looking over at Allan. "Blush? I just gave you a kiss on the cheek? That's what siblings do? My parents kiss me on the cheek, and so do my siblings? I've seen other humans kiss each other on the kiss. Is it not that much of a human thing anymore?" Michael asked, sounding profoundly confused at Allan's complain. He folded his jacket neatly before putting it away. "Regardless, I need to talk to you about something, and I need to show you the information I've gathered." Michael said as he walked over to the bed, sitting down as he set his laptop down next to him. "I didn't think the tensions between half-breeds and monsters were so bad. Well, I've always lived among human populations, so I guess I cannot judge, can I?" Michael sighed, looking over at Allan. "City living makes you accustomed to humans. Living isolated from them, however, because you cannot be among them, that can't possibly help in the process of accepting them." Michael hummed. "(I don't think humanity is even ready for us yet.)" He thought, gently shaking his head before returning to the laptop. "I've been going over the records and the recordings of the incidents. The incidents began shortly after the beginning of the year. I'm going to have to review every recording of every incident and see if there's any correlation in between them, because so far from what I've seen, they all could be classified as isolated incidents if it weren't for the fact that it was by the same mysterious culprit." Michael said as he looked at the files. He looked over at Allan. "As for you, I need you to keep a look out for anything suspicious, no matter how small. If you think something's up, just call me or something, ok?" Michael asked as he looked at him. "And no challenging anyone to a fight. As a Dhampir, they expect for you to be able to cast magic. I don't want anyone trying to prove that to be true, alright?" Michael asked as he looked back down. "Also, I heard tomorrow they're opening the springs for a swim day. I did you a favor and picked out a pair of swim trunks for you. You can go ahead and sleep, if you wish. I'll be staying up working on these."

"It's still a human thing! It's just a little embarrassing and...well not the norm for men to be in love with other men...but we are not normal. I told Jocelin that you were my sibling because I couldn't tell her you were my partner...I am in disguise when I am around the other students." Allan pointed out to Michael.

"I'm okay with the ways you show affection to me, and I am thankful for them." he sat up as Michael sat beside him. "No correlation at all? That is just weird...I will call you if there is the smallest thing out of sorts." Allan nodded his head.

"I promise. I know that I'm not anything other than a human." he was sincere in this and knew he would basically be screwed if any creature tried to fight with him.

"They better not be speedos," Allan warned, grabbing up his backpack and changing into some night clothes before crawling back into the bed.

"Good Night, Michael," he called out, soon to fall asleep.

~~~
The morning came later for Allan than usual. He could actually get some sleep for once. He woke up and put together his bag, getting his swim trunks from Michael. Unsurprisingly, and much to Allan's dismay, they were a pair of plain black speedos.
"Michael. What the heck." Allan held them up in front of his partner.
"I might as well be naked. Everyone is going to see my butt." He scold, grabbing another night shirt out of his luggage and putting it into his bag.
"There is no way I am wearing just these." He tossed the speedos into his backpack.
"Please try to keep in contact with me, mm'kay?" Allan grabbed his phone from his charger and was about to walk out the door, but stopped.
"Wait." he turned himself around, walking right up to Michael.
Without saying a single word, he got up on his toes to kiss Michael's cheek, before turning back around and rushing out the door.
"Bye!" he called, running off towards the school.
Thanks to Maya, Ren, and Jocelin showing him around yesterday, Michael was able to navigate to the lunchroom, getting a plate of breakfast and sitting down by himself...hoping maybe the half-breeds would come and sit by him...and hopefully not Viola and the rest of the trouble makers.
Michael didn't sleep in the night, spending all of it on the computer, reviewing and separating the video files in hopes of finding something to provide them a lead. "Be careful. I'll let you know if I find anything. This being a lake, I should have no problems crossing anywhere as long as it's away from the waterfall. However, Dhampir are not constricted to the whole running water thing, so you should be fine." Michael said, his eyes never leaving the screen. He paused when Allan gave him a kiss on the cheek before running off. Michael turned to him. "Remember, Dhampir can eat human food! Don't let anyone try and feed you blood!" Michael yelled for him. In the lunch room, everyone was in a good mood. They were all smiling and chatting, especially those in the aquatics area, who seemed ecstatic to be given the chance to swim outside of the school perimeter. "Samael, you're here!" Maya called as she walked over to the table alongside with Jocelin and Ren, the three looking rather happy themselves such as with everyone else. "Are you excited?" Maya asked. Jocelin walked over to Allan. "He should be. He just arrived and he already has a day out for a swim! I need that kind of luck myself." Jocelin said. Ren sighed. "If anything I'm happy that Viola isn't going to show up. We can finally have peace and quiet for once." Ren admitted. Maya looked over at Allan. "Dear Viola can't swim. So she'll be staying inside, which means more fun for us!" Maya said cheerfully. Soon, the PA system began to speak. "Students we are happy to announce that the outer perimeters are officially open for you to enjoy for the day! Land students may exit through the main entrance down to the beach area. Aquatics students may use the entrance provided for you at the bottom of your dorms! Turn in time shall be at 6 PM. Enjoy your day!" The PA system spoke. Maya and Ren cheered loudly. "Let's go lets go!" Maya said, barely able to contain herself as the students all began to get up and hurry outside. "Did you bring a swimsuit, Samael?" Jocelin asked.
"If Viola can't swim, that means we have the day to ourselves." Allan smiled brightly at the three half-breeds.
After the PA system was done with the announcement, Allan stood up from his seat.
"Let's go!" Allan followed Maya and Jocelin as Ren made his way by himself.
"I did...but my brother picked it out for me." he sighed, tapping his bag.
"That's okay. My mom picks out my clothes." Jocelin laughed as she pulled her swimsuit from her backpack.
"Let's get changed!" Maya held up her swim top up and followed Jocelin into the bathroom, Allan going to the male bathroom along with other students.
After a couple of miunets, the three met up. Jocelin wore a girly one-piece bathing suit, and Maya wore a dark blue two-piece bathing suit top, as she needed no bottoms. Allan wore the black speedos Michael chose for him and...a white night shirt. He wasn't thinking.
"Why are you wearing a t-shirt?" Jocelin then asked him as the small group walked towards the springs.
"Because I'm not used to showing skin." Allan pulled his shirt down in attempt to cover his butt.
Damn Michael. He better hope his ass is out here to see the agony he is putting Allan through.
"When you're shirt gets wet you're just going to be exposed anyways." Maya giggled.
"I don't have any other shirts I'd rather get dirty..." Allan grumbled as they arrived.
The springs were absolutely beautiful with clear blue water towards the shore and darker water towards the deeper side. Maya and Jocelin were quick to run to the springs, Jocelin jumping in and Maya wading in the water to her human chest. Allan carefully swum out, floating over to the deeper end and watching the other creatures swim around, Ren floating up to beside Allan.
"Isn't this great, Samael?" he smiled.
"It's pretty nice." Allan responded.
"I can't breathe underwater like full blooded mermaids, but it is nice to swim in different waters!" he swam off towards Maya.
"I should try to have some fun. It's not every day I get to do something like this." Allan thought, swimming over to the small group, and the water games like Marco-Polo began.
- ??? -
"Your wishes have been granted. Yet, you do not seem satisfied."
"It isn't enough. I thought it would be, but it isn't."
"Then what would you wish to do?"
"Tomorrow we will have a Recreation Day by the springs. There is something I hope you are able to do."
"Then so it shall be, for your wish is my command."
- Present -
The students enjoyed their chance of play in the water. They played games, splashing water at each other playfully. Some took sunbaths. Many of them were in different groups playing Marco Polo around the water. For this one, Maya was it, her eyes closed as she swam around, looking for people. "Marco?" Maya asked. "Polo!" Some of the students responded. Maya began to swim around, the students giggling as they barely avoided getting tagged by Maya. She eventually got a hold of Allan, hugging him as she finally opened her eyes. "Got you!" She giggled. "You're it, Samael!" Jocelin called, quickly swimming away. Ren used his tail to splash at Allan before swimming around him. Inside, Michael rubbed his eyes as he searched through the videos once more. He was about to take a break until something finally caught his eye. "...huh?" Michael quickly began to type, clicking over at the video before pulling up other videos, pausing them at a specific time. "It can't be, can it?" Michael hummed, his eyes narrowing. Meanwhile, while all of this happened, in the depths of the springs, among one of its hidden caverns, a portal suddenly opened up.
"Oh large being, heed my call. My master has made a wish, therefor come forth, and finish them all."
From the portal, a large figure slithered right into the lake. It was enormous, its bright eyes scanning the area as it swam out of the portal. Once it did, the portal closed behind it, leaving no trace as it let the creature, the Afanc, loose in the student infested waters. As it made its way out of the cave, it was first spotted by a group of the aquatic students, who were quick to scream under the water and swim off as fast as they could. Those who saw them followed their lead, only a few stopping to reach the surface and warn the others. "GET OUT OF THE WATER!!!" One siren screamed at the top of her lungs, catching the attention of both students and staff alike. The student swam frantically, waving at them. "You have to get out!!!" She screamed. "It's an Afna-!" The student would never get to finish her statement, as from beneath her, the giant creature leaped up from the water, jaws opened as it swallowed the student whole, snapping its jaws tight. Once the creature made itself known, panic ensued, students screaming for their lives as they began to scatter. Maya was quickly swimming, Ren swimming off to the aquatic exits. Jocelin was frozen in fear, her body shaking as she watched the Afnac roar into the air. Once he heard the screams, Michael dropped everything and ran as fast as he could to the outside. He ran to the edge balcony, his eyes widening at the sight of the creature. "No!" Michael screamed. He looked around, his eyes sharpening. There was no time to take the long way down. He needed to get down there. Now. He kicked off his shoes and socks, throwing his jacket behind him as he climbed the balcony ledge, staring down at the creature as he calculated the fall. "Here goes nothing!" Michael said, jumping off the balcony and right into the abyss, straight to the area of the springs and the monster. For a mere mortal, this fall would be fatal. But he was a vampire, a legendary being, and dammit, he wasn't going to hold back. Michael's pupils sharped and glowed, allowing himself to use his true strength as he aimed a punch at the creature. Just as he fell, he landed a punch right on the creature's head, a loud crack echoing across the air as the creature was punched straight back into the water, Michael falling with it.
"You got me!" Allan giggled with the group as he was tagged by Maya.
"Marco!"
"Polo!"
"Marco!"
There was no response this time, sirens peeking their head from the water.
"GET OUT!!" Everyone began to scramble, Allan spinning his head around to realize where he was, and frantically began to get to shore.
"Jocelin!!" Allan called out to her, swimming over to her quickly and grabbing her in his arms.
"We have to move! Let's go!" he instructed, pulling Jocelin out of the water, and was followed by other creatures who barely managed to escape to Afanc.
Some monsters ran entirely away from the springs, but Allan, Jocelin, and a few others stay put. The Afanc roar, narrowing it's eyes to the remaining people on the beach. Suddenly though, a loud crack burst through the air, the Afanc going straight under the water, along with someone else...Allan knowing exactly who that was.
"MICHAEL!!" Allan screamed out, rushing over to the shore, Jocelin quick to follow him.
"Shit shit shit! Michael!!" Allan pushed his bangs out of his face, Jocelin looking at him, concerned.
"Isn't that your brother?!" she remembered Michael from yesterday.
"That and much more! Vampires like him won't drown, but if he gets eaten up, it's game over for him." he quickly explained.
"What are we going to do?" Jocelin looked down at the water.
"I don't know..." Allan looked frantically around before Lynn Bell pulled him and Jocelin out of the way.
"Get inside!" Lynn pushed Allan and Jocelin towards the school.
"Miss Bell! Michael is in there!!" Allan yelled to her.
"Damn!" Lynn cursed, looking back to the springs.
Followed by Lynn was a group of strong merman on the backs of female centaurs, the merman wielding silver tridents as they charged into the water.
"Jocelin, get inside." Allan instructed, letting her go inside as Allan followed Lynn back to the springs.
"I'm not leaving here until I know that Michael is safe." Allan looked to Lynn, who nodded back to him.
Michael fell into the water along with the monster. The Afnac was quick to recover from the hit, its eyes widening as Michael looked up at it. The Afnac went after him for the kill. Michael rose his hands up, grasping the top and bottom of the creature's mouth and holding it away from him, keeping the creature from opening its mouth any further. He struggled, the creature growling as it attempted to knock Michael out. The creature pushed Michael deeper down, slamming him into the bottom of the springs as Michael struggled to keep its mouth shut. If he were to let go, he was done for. The aquatic creatures chased after the monster, beginning to stab at it with tridents. The creature roared in pain, finally letting go of Michael as it tried to eat the attackers. Michael swam up to the surface, coughing for air as he surfaced. He swam to the edge, coughing as he could feel the discomfort of the bright sun on his skin. "Michael!" Lynn said, hurrying over to help him up. Michael, however, went straight for Allan, holding him by the shoulders. "Are you hurt?" He asked, concern in his eyes. Then they narrowed. "We need to hurry back inside. This is just a distraction for something bigger!" Michael said, wincing as he hurried to his feet, looking at Lynn in the eyes. "Where is the centaur girl that Allan was with?" Michael asked. Yet, just like that, Maya was out of sight. "Where is her dorm located?" He asked. "It should be 214 in the girl's dorm...you think she has to do with this?! She's only a child!" Lynn asked, Michael hurrying up to the academy. "That's all she needs to be. Allan, lets go!"
"I'm more worried about you," Allan said to Michael as he placed his hands on his shoulders.
"You scared the hell out of me..." he calmed down, knowing that the bright sun was bothering Michael, he quickly rushed with Michael towards the girls dorm, picking up his backpack from the shore and putting on some sweatpants he packed in his back for after he swum.
Now maybe he wouldn't scare the girls.
"You're soaking wet." Allan handed Michael his towel as they walked quickly to the second floor with all the 200 rooms.
"You don't think Maya....is behind this...?" he asked Michael carefully, arriving at her door, and knocking three times.
"Maya. Open the door." Allan commanded, the sounds of her hooves approaching the door as she barely cracked it open for Michael and Allan.
"What do you want, human?"
(BLOW ME AWAAAAAYYYYY)
Edited by Lady Aleister
Michael didn't say a word, focused on reaching Maya. "Maya, open the door. We mean no harm to you." Michael said. Maya's ears twitched as she slammed the door closed, locking it. "Go away! Leave me alone!" She yelled. Before Allan could say anything, Michael proceeded to kick the door down, the door flying off its hinges and onto the floor. He stepped into the room, Maya backing away. "What are you doing?! I told you to get out!" Maya screamed. "Maya. Since when have you owned that necklace?" Michael asked, his eyes focused on the oddly jeweled necklace she wore. It was in the shape of a small lamp, much like that seen in fairy tales. Maya got her hands to it. "My mother gave it to me." She hissed. "Maya," Michael said, taking a step closer, extending his hand. "Please, hand over the necklace." He insisted. "Get away." Maya said. Michael did not move. Maya finally snapped. "I said get away!!!" She screamed, the entire room shaking as the lamp necklace began to glow. Michael quickly jumped back, wrapping his arms around Allan and pulling him close as the walls of the room began to crack along with the floor beneath. From the lamp, a mysterious smoke emerged, wrapping itself around Maya before towering over her from behind. From the smoke a figure began to form. It large, bigger than Maya herself. It was in the shape of a being with male humanoid features showing from the hips up, long hair flowing freely as jewels and delicate silks decorated its body, its ears sharp and its skin blue in color. "A Djinn." Michael whispered. Maya glared at the two, tears falling from her eyes. "Did you know how much bullying hurts? To be hated by everyone? Making you feel worthless?!" She asked, shaking her head. "It hurts! And yet, I shrugged it off! Because my parents had enough to deal with because of their marriage! My family was ostracized, hated by everyone just because my mother had the audacity to marry a human and breed with him! Yet we persisted! We continued and we lived and we were happy until...!!!" Maya sobbed. "Until your mother was met with an accident-" "UNTIL MY MOTHER WAS MURDERED!" Maya corrected, fury in her eyes. "Murdered by her own people!!! She was thrown off the building, hung by a noose!!! Do you really think her death was an accident?!" Maya screamed, the dorm around her cracking as it began to heat up. "And then dad...dad...!!!" Maya sobbed, closing her eyes. The images of finding her father dead in the bathroom, a gun in his hand and a hole in his head flashed through her mind. "Maya. You need to give me the necklace. It is dangerous. You are being influenced by its power." Michael warned, reaching out. "GET AWAY FROM ME!" Maya screamed, her voice echoing as pieces of the floor rose up, sharpening themselves before shooting straight at the two. Michael quickly deflected the rocks with his whip. "Maya!" Michael yelled. Maya opened her eyes, the white of her eyes suddenly turning black as the veins around her eyes glowed with magic. "I'm tired! I'm tired of pretending! I wanted to scare them away and it didn't work!" Maya felt her necklace. "My mother gave me this necklace, telling me that if I ever found myself struggling, that I should make a wish, for that it would save me. At first, I didn't get it...but now I do. I'm tired of playing...if they won't leave, then I'll send them back home in coffins! Let their parents suffer my pain! DJINN! Destroy this school! Kill them all! LEAVE NO ONE LEFT!" Maya screamed. The Genie simply moved his hands. "Your wish is my command." Michael's eyes widened as he grabbed a hold of Allan. "DOWN!" Michael screamed, taking a hold of Allan as the Djinn used a force to push the two of them through multiple walls of the dorms all the way to the outer wall. As they fell, Michael was quick to hold onto the edge with one hand, holding Allan from falling to his death with the other. The sky above the academy began to change color, clouds swirling as the calm springs began to rage.
