The detectives whispered among each other as they picked up their assignments and excused themselves out the door. Michael glanced down at the file. These disappearances were odd. Was it a serial killer? Or worse, a hunter? Michael read, looking over at Allan. "Good idea. Better talk to them now before they head home." Michael said as he walked over to the garage with Allan. "Now, Allan, this is a Human school. By all means, even as friends, we must assume that they do not know of Monika's supernatural origin. So, as far as we go with this, we shouldn't mention anything involving that unless prompted otherwise." Michael suggested as they got into the car. Michael quickly drove them over to the school. Once there, the two of them hurried inside, identifying themselves as detectives to the administration and their purposes for coming all the way here. "We would like to speak with her friends, if possible. They were the last ones to see her before she disappeared, we hope that they might've seen or heard something that could give us clues." Michael explained. The principal nodded, calling for the girls from their classrooms as they were offered a small meeting room for their interview. Soon enough, the girls were brought in. "Don't worry girls, you're not in trouble. We're here to ask you guys some questions about your friend, Monika. Please, take a seat." Michael said, smiling.

"I know, Michael. You remember how surprised I was when I learned what you were." He laughed to himself, gently punching Michael's shoulder as they drove.
Michael introduced themselves to the principal, and they were able to meet in a small conference room. The two girl walked in together nervously, but upon seeing Michael's beauty, they calmed down some.
"Hello girls. I am Detective Othello and this is my partner Detective Cassio, we are from M&M." Allan introduced with a smile.
"I know this is a sensitive subject...and we know you two are not behind it at all, but we need to know about the last time you saw Monika Valera. We are looking for her and you two are the only two people who last saw her." Allan explained.
"We live a block from Monika and me and Angelica are next door neighbors." Elisa began.
"We walk home with her every day that we do not have cheer practice." Angelica added.
"Sometimes we stop at that new frozen yogurt place though, its like five minutes from here and she might have gone there Thursday..." Elisa thought.
"But please try to find her...she is like...our best girl." Angelica was as serious as a preppy high school girl could be.
Allan had frozen yogurt shop circled on his notes, along with a tiny note of: This is why I don't like girls. ♥
He showed the small note to Michael, nodding his head to the girls.
"Alright girls, thank you for your time. We will get Ms. Velera back." Allan smiled to them, them being dismissed.
Allan and Michel thanked the principal for his time.
"The frozen yogurt shop isn't that far, you wouldn't mind walking would you?" Allan asked, closing up his notebook.
"You should get me some frozen yogurt." He stuck his tongue out, pulling up willing directions on his phone to the nested Frozen Yogurt shop, heading off, pulling Michael behind him.

Michael looked over at Allan. "Yeah. Lets head over there. If they have security cameras, maybe they have footage of her if she came by that time." Michael said as he followed Allan. He tilted his head at Allan's suggestion at him buying him some frozen yogurt. It was...sort of unprofessional to get a snack while on a case. He considered it, however, remembering that humans do get hungry more often than other species. He rarely remembered that himself from his past, however. Michael smiled. "Sure thing." Michael said. Soon they arrived at the shop. Lil 'Darling Frozen Yogurt, pastel colors decorating the establishment both inside and out. They entered inside, the sweet scent of candy and fruit almost overwhelming as they looked around. People were sitting on the booths, enjoying all kinds of frozen yogurt, while others were in the process of choosing some of the dozens of options for toppings. Michael smiled at Allan. "You wanted some, right? Go ahead and pick whatever you want. I'll go and talk to the owner." Michael said, stepping away from Allan as he headed over to the counter. "Excuse me, is the owner around?" "Yes! Let me go get him!" The young boy hurried to the back, coming back with the owner in tow. Michael showed his badge. "Good afternoon. We're detective Cassio and Othello from M&M. Would you mind if I could ask you some questions?" Michael asked. "Sure." The owner said, quickly coming around the counter to talk to him. "We are investigating the disappearance of a young girl named Monika Velera. We were told that she frequents in this shop from time to time. I was wondering if you had seen her." Michael asked, quickly using his pad to pull up Mokina's photo. The owner shook his head, turning to the young employee. Michael showed the employee, who hummed. "Ah, I think I do remember her!" The boy said, smiling a bit. "She always orders the chocolate yogurt with strawberry and gummy-bear toppings." "Do you remember when you saw her last?" "Hm...last week, I think?" The boy said, unsure. Michael looked up at the owner. "If you have any security footage we can look at, it would be helpful." Michael said. "Of course! Come on back, you can see the footage." "Thank you." Michael followed the owner, looking over at Allan. "Allan, join us when you can?"

Michael paid for Allan's frozen yogurt whether he wanted to or not. Allan just got plain strawberry, heading to the back where the owner and Michael sat down, pulling the tapes from the day Monika went missing.

"It should be around 3pm." Allan slipped inside, sitting beside Michael.

"Here it is." the owner pulled it up on his computer, transferring it so it could be shown on the television above them. Allan and Michael stared at it, and around the fifteen-minute mark, Allan spot Monika.

"There she is!" Allan point at the screen, the owner slowing the video down.

Sure enough, someone exactly like the picture of Monika walked into the store, ordering a thing of frozen yogurt, and walking out...nothing too mysterious, until a group of people who, whom had been eating, got up and left, headed right after Monika and leaving their mess on the table.

"Wait go back." Allan instructed.

The owner rewound the video and stopped at a spot you could see the four people's face. A woman and three men.

"Have those four ever been in here previously?" he then asked the owner.

"I have never seen them around here before." The owner respond back.

"Then those are the people we need to look for." Allan point at the people with his spoon, taking a picture of the video, capturing a picture of the four people.

"Thank you very much Sir!" he smiled.

"Good luck, detectives!" the owner waved to them as they stood up.

Allan and Michael headed out, walking out of the Frozen Yogurt shop.

"Try this." before Michael could do anything, Allan put a spoon of strawberry frozen yogurt in his partner's mouth.

"Let's go try to find those people!" he declared.

Michael blinked as he tasted the strawberry frozen yogurt. He didn't know what he expected. He hadn't eaten human food in...well, for as long as he had been a vampire, which was a long time. The sweetness of it took him by surprise. It did not fill him, and yet the taste brought a strange feeling of nostalgia. He took out the spoon from his mouth, handing it back to Allan. "It's...nostalgic." Michael admitted, as he looked back down at the picture that Allan had taken. "We could put out an APB for them." Michael suggested, taking out his cellphone. "If we try and look for them ourselves, we'll be left to search an entire city. It's better to have the eyes of the city with us." Michael said as he walked down the street, about to make a phone call. However, before he could, someone caught their attention. More like ran into them before beginning to pull on their clothes. "Excuse me!" It was a young girl, and by her scent, human. She was merely 10 years old. "C-Can you help me?" She asked. Her voice was shaky. Michael immediately looked concerned. "Are you ok? What's wrong? Are you lost?" Michael asked. The girl shook her head. "You're policemen aren't you? You have to help my mommy!" She yelled, pulling on Michael and Allan's clothes. "Your mom?" Michael glanced at Allan before looking back at the girl. "Where is she?" "This way! She just fell and won't get up!" The girl yelled, pulling on them. Michael followed the girl alongside with Allan, the girl pulling them to one of the shortcuts of the district. It went right through a small park settled between the buildings, a weathered path leading to the other side. The little girl led them right into it, soon all of them seeing a woman laying on the floor of the path. "Oh crap." Michael ran right to her, sliding on the floor as he turned her over. "She's breathing. Allan, call for backup!" Michael said, holding the woman up as he tried to wake her up. From the shadows of the garden, something moved among the flora. By the time Michael sensed it, he refused to move as he used his body as a shield to cover the woman from harm. From the trees, a Spriggan appeared, using her powers as a large, sharp wooden stake formed from the nearby trees and pierced right through his chest, right through where his heart would be. Michael gasped, blood dripping from the tip of the root that stuck out from his chest. "A...Allan...r...run!!!"

"That would probably be a better idea." Allan laughed, stopping once he saw a small girl running up to him and Michael.

"Excuse me!" It was a young girl, merely 10 years old.

"C-Can you help me?" She asked.

Her voice was shaky, she shook her head to Michael's questions.

"You're policemen aren't you? You have to help my mommy!" She yelled, suddenly pulling on their clothes.

Allan softly shrugged, before the little girl began to pull them along.

"This way! She just fell and won't get up!"

The little girl sure enough lead Allan and Michael to a woman who was face down on the ground.

"Hold on little girl, we are going to help your--" Allan was dialing a number when he suddenly stopped, a stake flying from a tree in the nearby park, and flying right into Michael's chest.

"Michael!!" Allan squeezed his fist shut.

He needed to listen to his partner.

"Shit shit shit!!" he grabbed up the little girl, and ran, just ran, away from the park, away from Michael, and...right into a trap.

Allan stopped running, he ran into a woman, and two men. Allan recognized them instantly. They were the people from the video, except one was gone, and probably after Michael right now.

"You--" Allan began, one of them men hitting Allan upside the head twice with a pistol.

They had cornered Allan at a dead end. He could not run. The man who hit him picked him up by the collar of his shirt, and threw him against the concrete wall. The last thing Allan saw was the little girl crying as his eyes closed, he had been captured...again. The little girl cried to the woman.

"I-I did what you said! H-Help my mommy!!" she cried out.

"You want to see your mommy again?" the woman asked, smirking.

"Y-Yes!! Help her!" the little girl screamed.

"You're mommy is already dead sweetheart." the woman cocked the pistol that hit Allan, pointing it at the little girl.

"And that is just the reality of it." the gun fired, but the shot was reduced by a silencer.

The woman looked over at Allan.

"Let's get him and his little vampire friend."

Allan would have woken up with a headache. He was inside a cell, the floor beneath and the wall behind him made out of concrete. The bars on left, right and in front of him that surrounded the place made out of a familiar material; reinforced silver. On the ceiling, protected by even more bars, were UV lamps blaring down into the cell. There were other cells around him, some empty, some filled with their own prisoners. To the cell left of him was the body of the missing investigator, her wings bloody as her feathers had been ripped from their core. To the cell on the right, their missing Banshee, sitting in a corner, her mouth covered up with a padlock mask. Laying on the floor in the cell with him was Michael, unconscious. He seemed to be breathing heavily, his usually invisible veins standing out in a darkened color. Both of them were stripped of their weapons, cellphones, badges and everything that they had, leaving them only with the clothes on their backs. "You're awake." A voice spoke. From the shadows, stepped in a woman. At least, part of her. From the hips up she had the body of a human woman, as from the hips below, the giant torso and legs of a spider followed. She was tall, absolutely beautiful, and deadly. Jorogumo. "Don't worry about your friend. He won't be breaking out any time soon. We made sure to inject him with a nice mix of everything poisonous to a vampire. It won't kill him, but he won't be at his full strength any time soon, either." She spoke, sighing before shaking her head in disappointment. "I hoped to catch two creatures to my business. But all I got was one and a human...I'm truly surprised." The woman spoke, smiling as she tilted her head at Allan. "I don't think I can sell you. Humans aren't my type of business. Alive or dead. I think you'd do better in the ring. People will love to see a little human being ripped to pieces~" She then looked over at Michael. "Your vampire friend, however; they are rare. He should sell for quite the profit. I wonder who would buy him? Maybe a Hunter for a ceremonial kill? Or a wealthy business man with exotic tastes?"

"Ow...shit fire." Allan cursed as he awoke, rubbing his head where he got hit.

He looked to the left, and wish he didn't. In the left cell was M&M detective Maria Geova, wings plucked and hung by a noose. He backed away, looking to the right. Monika Velera. Where was Michael?! He looked frantically in the other cells, no Michael. Allan turned around finally, praying he was with him, and sure enough, poor Michael lay on the floor right at the end of the cell. Allan crawl right over to Michael.

"Shit. Michael..." Allan moved him, sitting him up.

"You're awake." Allan froze, looking out to the cell.

She was half-human, half-spider. Ew.

"Don't worry about your friend. He won't be breaking out any time soon. We made sure to inject him with a nice mix of everything poisonous to a vampire. It won't kill him, but he won't be at his full strength any time soon, either."

"Why the f*** did you do this to us you bi**h!?" Allan cursed at her, pulling his partner into his arms.

"Sharp tongue. I hoped to catch two creatures to my business. But all I got was one and a human...I'm truly surprised." the woman laughed lightly.

"I don't think I can sell you. Humans aren't my type of business. Alive or dead. I think you'd do better in the ring. People will love to see a little human being ripped to pieces~" a smile crept on her face.

"Like hell." Allan cursed.

"You're just ticking down your time, little human." the woman taunt.

"Your vampire friend, however; they are rare. He should sell for quite the profit. I wonder who would buy him? Maybe a Hunter for a ceremonial kill? Or a wealthy business man with exotic tastes?" she smiled.

"Don't touch him!! Don't do anything to him!!" Allan yelled at the woman.

The woman came closer to the bars, staring at Allan's sharp glare.

"Passionate, and sharp tongued. I'll be sure to put you in the ring with someone who gets pissed off easily, that would make for a good show." she waved, stepping away.

"You have 10 hours, Mr. Othello." the spider-woman hissed, crawling away from the cells.

Allan wait a full five minuets after the woman left before gently putting Michael down, going over to Monika's cell.

"Monika, I am Allan Othello of M&M. I know the situation right now is...a little bit hopeless...but...me and my partner are going to do everything in our power to get you...and everyone else out of here. Please...just please bear with us." he apologized to Monika, his eyes turning painfully to Michael.

Allan moved back to beside Michael, gently laying his head on his lap.

"Okay....how the hell are we going to get out of this?" Allan said very quietly, closing his eyes tight and thinking.

This was hopeless.

Monika stared at Allan, her hands shaking as she gripped the cell bars, staring at Allan. She wanted to speak, and couldn't. Eventually Michael began to regain consciousness, groaning in pain as he opened his eyes, only to shut them right back as he felt the burn of the light. He had never felt so...weak. His body ached, his veins burned with the mix of herbs and poison made specifically for his kind. He covered his eyes, turning away with a hiss. He gently used his hands to cover them as he looked up at Allan, using his shadow to hide his eyes from it. "Allan...?" Michael asked. His voice had never sounded so small. He sat up, only to hide his face against Allan's shoulder, hiding his face from the lamps. "I think the sunscreen is beginning to wear off. These lights are intense..." Michael muttered, lifting his eyes slightly. "...there's so much blood here, Allan. Of so many kinds..." He whispered, his senses still intact, even if sluggish due to the poison. He closed his eyes for a moment, before stepping back to look at Allan. "...I'm sorry." Michael whispered. "I put a bad name to Vampires, don't I? We're supposed to be these invincible, fearsome beings and yet..." Michael looked down at his hands. They were trembling. "I can't even stop us from falling into a trap." Michael chuckled distastefully, shaking his head. "The warden's right...I've lived for centuries and I still have a lot to learn." He groaned, resting against Allan again. "We'll get out of this one, Allan...we just need a plan..." Michael whispered, his stomach suddenly rumbling unexpectedly. "...ignore that."

"Michael, its okay, it's me. I'm okay." Allan was quick to reassure Michael as he woke up.

The UV lights were to cause him pain...not cool. Michael could smell all of the blood around them, without even looking. Allan gently placed a hand on the back of Michael's head, a gentle notion.

"Don't apologize Michael. You've not always been a vampire. Even the toughest of creatures get beat down sometimes." He let go of Michael.

"We will learn in time." Allan smiled sadly at Michael, allowing the vampire to rest against him.

"I'm thinking...or at least trying." Allan opened his eyes from thought as Michael's stomach growled.

Honestly, Allan did not even know that vampires stomach's growled. His eyes peeked at Michael. He was bad off. Relying on Allan's shadow to block the UV light, his veins prominent, his hands shaking...this was not good. Allan took Michael's hand, holding it in his tightly, the shaking calming down some.

"Michael." Allan got his attention.

"I don't want to hear any buts, I just want you to listen to me." He warned, turning to face Michael.

"Drink my blood. If you don't, you're only going to get worse. They only hit my head, I'm fine. You are not okay, so just do it." He insist.

"I'm serious, Michael. I can handle it." Allan stared straight into Michael's eyes.

Was he scared? Ya, maybe like 9% of him. Was he worried? Ya, about 91% was more worried than scared of Michael. Getting Michael's strength up was a little more important than anything else right now.

Michael stared at him, blinking. The mention of Allan offering his blood woke Michael up, somewhat, causing him to shake his head. "Oh hell no!" Michael said, already protesting. "Are you kidding me? That's dangerous, Allan! The most inexperienced vampires can kill their prey if they don't stop. I haven't drank directly from a human in decades, maybe more...what if I'm unable to stop? The last thing I want is to hurt you..." Michael said, rambling on and about as he rubbed his eyes. He listened to Allan, peeking up at him momentarily. He pursed his lips. He really needed the blood, but he didn't want to harm Allan. Yet...Michael shook his head as he stepped closer, leaning in over Allan. "If...If I don't stop, I want you to slap me as hard as you can, understood? Harder than when I hit you." Michael instructed before getting his hands on Allan's shoulders. His grip tightened as he gulped, leaning in on Allan's neck. The small doses he drank were meant to last for a short time limit before he required more. He needed this. His body demanded it, his stomach screaming. The torture of the lights and poison only made it worse. He pulled Allan's shirt out of the way of his neck, leaning in. "I...I'm sorry...Allan..." Michael whispered, his eyes sharpening as his pupils turned into slits. He leaned in, and effortlessly pierced Allan's skin as he bit into his neck. He began to drink, holding Allan close as he wrapped one arm around his back and the other over his head, pulling their bodies close as he drank directly from his body. It was...a thrill, as it always was. The feeling of the beating heart struggling to pump more blood, rushing warmly right into his mouth and down his throat. The sensation of the body beneath flinching, the feeling of warmth radiating from them. It was a dangerous thing to be addicted to. It had happened before, to him, to every vampire that ever had to feed the old fashioned way. But thankfully, he was better. Stop. Michael snapped his eyes open as he forced himself to stop. He gripped Allan close before slowly letting go, his teeth covered in blood as a few drops of red dripped down his chin. He breathed heavily, gritting his teeth as he gripped Allan tightly, before gently letting go of him. Michael leaned into his neck again, only to lick away the dripping blood from his wound, only to then rest his forehead against it. "...you're either the bravest, or the most foolish human I have ever met." Michael confessed, smiling. "...thank you."

"Michael, you're not going to kill me." Allan laughed lightly, reassuring him.

"I'll hit you if you take too much." he smiled softly.

To be honest, Allan was actually screaming inside, his face was probably ten shades of red. They haven't really been this physically close yet, and Michael towered over Allan in every way possible. As soon as Michael put his hands on his shoulders, he tensed up just a bit. The grip on his shoulders tighten, Michael only coming closer. He gently moved his shirt out of the way, before apologizing once more. Allan avert his eyes, fangs sinking into his neck. It hurt, it was going to. His teeth clenched, grabbing onto one of Michael's hands as they wrapped around his body in means of support. It was such a weird feeling, being drained of blood this way. Allan opened one of his eyes.

"M-Michael." Allan sputtered out, Michael's eyes snapping open and forcing himself to stop.

Michael held onto Allan tightly before moving his mouth away, blood dripping down his chin. It was a terrifying sight, but beautiful at the same time. Allan was physically let go by Michael, and Allan sunk a little closer to the ground. Michael gently licked he remaining blood off the small wound, only causing Allan to blush even more.

"I am both foolish and brave." Allan leaned to Michael, gently placing a hand on his face, wiping off some blood.

"You are welcome. Don't be scared to tell me what you need. We rely on each other." he smiled softly, taking his hand off Michael's face.

"I think I might have an idea...but I'll leave it as a surprise to you." Allan winked.

Michael groaned at Allan's comment about the plan. "I don't like that idea already." Michael murmured, closing his eyes as he rested against Allan once more. At least the blood would last him long enough. Though he wanted to comment on something, he kept it to himself instead, hiding in Allan's shadow once more. "It's sweet."

...

The hours went by painfully slow. They would hear the distant sound of speaking or screams. Seeing grunts drag people in and out. They were livestock, and they were being treated as such. Before long, they came for them. The woman came back, and this time with help. A Minotaur and a centaur to be exact. They stepped into the cell, holding weapons in their hands. "It's time for your debut, Othello!" The woman chimed, quickly glancing at her soldiers. "Take the human to the arena. Prepare the vampire for display." The woman said, snapping her fingers. "Yes madam Arachne." The two said, hurrying to the two. The centaur took care of Allan, quickly tapping his staff on the floor only for two grips to form on its end. Much like a dog, the centaur wrapped the grips around Allan's neck, clamping it shut tightly before pressing a button, sending a jolt of electricity through his body as he was pulled away from Michael. Michael growled, quickly dashing right at the centaur, only to be tackled down by the Minotaur. Usually Michael would be able to fight off against the beast with ease. But with the lights and the drugs still within his system, he was sluggish, and was easily overpowered. The Minotaur slammed its hoof against Michael's head, pressing it against the concrete floor until Michael screamed. "Don't break it." Madam Arachne warned as she waved at people outside the cell. They brought in a coffin, or what appeared to be. It was heavily fortified, and made to hold Vampires like Michael. They pushed Michael inside, strapping him inside and wrapping something around his face to cover his mouth, similar to Monika's. A muzzle of sorts. Suddenly, with brute force, the Minotaur stabbed Michael right in the heart with a simple wooden stake. Blood stained Michael's clothing as he struggled to get it out, before his eyes losing their shine as he went lifeless. "There. That should keep him in stasis." Madam Arachne said, looking over to Allan with a smile. "Now to see if you can survive my arena, Allan." Madam Arachne said as she waved her hand. The centaur dragged Allan out of the room. He would be thrown into the arena to fight for his life.

As hours passed, Allan kept Michael as close as possible to him, shielding him from the UV lights the best he could. He regained his blood after a while, and although he was hungry and exhausted, everytime he try to rest, he was awoken by the screams of someone. The woman came up to them again...and alongside her, a minotaur and centaur. Whatever Allan's plan was, was temporary thrown out the window. There was no way Allan was going too be able to do it right now. As soon as Madam Arachne snapped her fingers, Allan gripped onto Michael. The centaur grabbed Allan up like a dog, forcing Allan and Michael apart.

"Michael!!" Allan was ripped away, a grip wrapping around his neck, and a jolt of electricity was sent through his body.

This stopped Allan's struggling instantly, but did not stop his pleads. Michael charged at the centaur, but the Minotaur easily took Michael down, slamming his hoof against Michael's head until his partner screamed.

"Michael!!!" Allan cried out, the centaur growling at him.

Madam Arachne brought out something that looked like a coffin, stuffing Michael into it, strapping him inside, muzzling his mouth, all while Allan screamed at them.

"Stop!!! Don't touch him!!! Let Michael go!!!" The centaur tightened the grip on Allan's neck, choking him some.

Suddenly, the Minotaur stabbed Michael with a wooden stake, fresh blood ruining Michael's close as he slowly turned lifeless, unable to regenerate due to the stake.

Allan's eyes were puffy and full of tears. How could they do this? They were going to ACTUALLY kill Michael. Allan couldn't do a thing as he was dragged out of the room and towards the arena.

As they got closer, Allan's rage built as the cheers. He got to choose two weapons, but stayed chained until the battle would begin. A battle raged currently, and Allan was next. No emotion show on his face, but anger built in his heart.

Allan's cage was connected to the arena, the door rigged to open up to let him out once it was ready for him. The weapons provided to the fighters were crude. Bloodied blades and tools that would either be seen in a gardening shed or a torture room. The cheers echoed across the arena as its current champion stood proudly over its kill, blood covering his body. "The Oni wins again!" The speakers yelled, cheers following as money exchanged hands. Soon, the door to Allan's cage slammed open, giving him a single way out; straight into the arena. "Now for a special event of the night!" The speaker yelled. "A member of the prestigious M&M, and a human!" At the mention of it, the crowd was quick to boo, shouting obscenities as they all watched, waiting for Allan to step into the arena. From behind Allan, on the other side of the back of the cage, the centaur poked him with the staff. "Step out." The centaur hissed. The Oni screamed, its eyes glaring at Allan in the darkness of the cage. If there was any humanity within, it seemed that it was no longer there. His horns and face covered in the enemy's blood, the corpse of his latest opponent laying at its feet. "Hu...man?" The Oni asked, whispering, his voice broken, though genuinely confused. "Come on, human!" "Rip that human apart!" "Not so brave without your partner, huh?!"

Allan let out a deep breath, his restraints being removed from him, Allan looking around at the little weapons available to him. Allan was...well screwed. These weapons were almost no good. He picked up the bow, lifting it onto his arms, grabbing a handful of arrows, and a silver knife. He put the knife around his belt-loop to secure it around him, and picked up the rest of the arrows. He silently pray, thanking his father for teaching him how to use a bow-and-arrow. The doors slammed open, and Allan touched the side of his neck.

"Michael...no matter what happens to me...please keep going...if you still can." he closed his eyes as he walked into the arena, his grip on his weapons tight.

Monsters in the stands threw food at him, whatever they could get their hands on. Everything went silent as he stepped into the middle of the field, away from the Oni, and the speakers yelled once more.

"LET THE FIGHT...BEGIN!!!"

As soon as the speaker finished the last syllable, Allan focused his eyes.

He fixated an arrow into the bow, aimed, and quickly fired. It was probably the quickest he had ever done it. The arrow flew past the Oni's head, but got frighteningly close to him. The Oni growled as the arrow zoomed past, begging to charge at Allan, and shit he was fast. Allan was slow, but he already had an adatage because he was father away from the Oni. As the Oni charged straight, Allan ran away to the right, causing the Oni to have to change direction, thus slowing him down. Allan was pissed and his adrenaline was wayyy too high at the moment. He looped another arrow, stopping as the Oni ran towards him. Allan stood, letting the Oni get closer before letting go, the arrow flying at the Oni, who was too close to dodge the arrow that shot into his horn. The Oni lept towards Allan, him dropping to get out of the way, but caught by the Oni's bloodied sword, it ripping his shirt, and leaving a significant mark on his left arm. Allan curse, but rolled out of the way as the Oni pull the arrow from his horn, throwing it on the ground and letting out a roar at Allan. Allan ran a little bit faster away from the Oni upon hearing that.

"You can't run forever!!" someone from the crowd screamed.

Allan stopped, he was a very significant distance away from the Oni, who was more worn out than he was, but still more powerful. This crowd member was right. Allan looked at how many arrows he had left. Eight left. He could only use four to get the Oni closer to him. As the Oni began to run once more towards, him, Allan looped another arrow, and began to rapid fire, one after the other, towards the Oni. He dodged the first two, the second one actually hitting his leg, slowing him down, and the fourth one got his torso. This wasn't going to kill an Oni. The Oni advanced towards him once again, the Oni throwing a punch at Allan this time, the punch to his ribs threw him back, that definitely broke something. Allan cried out in pain as he hit the ground, rolling over as the Oni walked towards him. The Oni raise his sword, ready to drop it on Allan, but he rolled out of the way, the sword crashing into the ground.

Allan struggled, but got up. He was getting tired, his runs weren't as fast as before and as he turned and shot his last four arrows at the Oni, they were sloppy hits, each one missing.

The crowd began to chant.

"Finish him!"

"Finish him!"

"Finish him!"

The Oni advanced towards Allan, and at that second, Allan had an idea. A little glint in his eyes lit up as he fell, letting the Oni charge towards him. The Oni ran, and with sword wield, dived down at Allan with all his might, Allan pulled the silver knife, rolling over as the sword came inches away from his skin, the sword came down into his shirt, and the knife into the Oni's sternum. He had used the Oni's weight against him. The knife seeped into the Oni up to the hilt. Then the crowd suddenly went silent.

Allan breath heavily, panting as he looked right up into the Oni's eyes. Tears filled the Oni's eyes, dripping onto Allan's face as blood fell onto Allan's chest.

"Thank you, human....Thank you....I'm...free." the Oni muttered weakly, his grip on the sword falling.

Allan looked back to the Oni, his anger residing as he silently nodded his head.

"I will free these people." he said in all sincerity, the Oni mouthing 'Thank you' before another tear fell onto Allan's face, the Oni falling limp, Allan having the push the Oni's heavy body off of him, and pulling the sword out of his shirt.

He stood up, the Oni fallen beside him, blood all over his shirt, tears on his face, and the lights shone on the human brightly.

Allan Othello, Human, had just defeated an Oni in the most terrifying of circumstances. The crowd roar, some in agony, some in shock, some in surprise, some in relief, some in anger, but plenty in hope.

"THE HUMAN HAS WON!!! THIS IS A MOMENTOUS DAY!!!" The speaker was ecstatic, Allan did not bask in glory, but looked to the Oni.

He needed to get Michael and the others out. As soon as possible.

Money exchanged hands as the crowd roared in all kinds of reactions, whispers and comments going rampant. "Let us welcome the new addition to the arena, everyone! Let's see how long he lasts, shall we?" The announcer cheered. The cage from where Allan had come in from opened once more. From the other entrances a group of guards were quick to push Allan into the cage to clear the arena for the next fight. Allan was stripped of his weapons, a guard grasping him by the neck with the same tool as before, leading him away from the arena and into another area. It was relatively close to the arena, as even with the concrete walls once could still hear the faint cheers from it. A set of cells with three floors worth of them. Some where full, others empty, each with a separate individual creature in them. "Normal cage should work for this one. He's a human." The guard said as another one opened the cell door. "He survived huh? M&M is really stepping up in their training; even the humans are tough!" The guard joked. Allan was thrown into the cage before being locked right in, the guards walking away as they chatted casually. It was silent for a few moments, before Allan's neighbors began to whisper among them. "A human?" The neighbor to his left, a werewolf in human form asked, leaning close to the cell, but keeping a distance from the silver that would otherwise burn his skin. He already had burn marks across his body, most notably to his neck to the point that it was a permanent imprint of the chain. The neighbor to his right, a Harpy, leaned even closer, looking over at Allan. "Poor human." She whispered. "Let him be." The creature in the cell in front of his spoke, a Dryad. "He must be tired." She spoke.

The glory did not last for long. Once again, Allan WS dragged into cage out of the arena, stripping him of his weapons and putting the collar back around his neck. Allan did not speak a word, nor did he resist. Allan followed the guards and was thrown yet again into a cell like a dog. They let him go and locked the cell door. Allan shuffled back to the wall, pulling his legs to his chest, keeping pressure on his injured arm. He hurt, both inside and out. He heard the whispers of the other monsters around him. Allan caught his breathe before speaking to all that could hear him.
"If I manage to get out of this cell, I am headed to the security room to let go of every creature in a cell so we can turn around and fight against those whom have done this to us. In order to do it, I'm going to need some help. We're going to have to have plan, and if you are with me, I need your input. They have my partner and are planning on cutting him into pieces. We need to end this." Allan announced to those around him and to whomever would listen. Michael was stuck on his mind.
He looked around, the Harpy, Dryad and Werewolf listening closely. The began to agree, not just them, but other monsters.
"They are going to pluck me sooner of later! They have no right!" The Harpy called.
Cries from other monsters followed.
Allan nodded quietly to himself.
"We just need a good plan...a distraction, and a way for a little human to run put of here and to find a map to the security room." Allan slowly stood, the werewolf nodding.
"This should be fun." He let a toothy grin, though in human form, his teeth still sharp.
"I wonder how many guards we can throw off course if we all start to raise cane." He smiled slightly, looking to the surrounding monsters.
They needed to be loud and to cause a scene.

The monsters around Allan nodded, agreeing. "The last time anyone tried to make a run for it got skinned alive." "We'll be skinned alive regardless if we don't do something!" "Do we even know where the security room is?" Whispers spread among the cages, before being shushed by the Dryad. "A human among us might be our trap card. He can camouflage himself among the scents. We have an opening, too." The Dryad spoke. The werewolf's ears perked up. "You aren't thinking of sending him off at the auction?" The werewolf asked. "It is the only time where they will all be too busy carrying merchandise back and forth than to pay attention to us. Besides, if we do not act, how long before we are sold off as well?" The Dryad asked. The Harpy lowered her head. "I don't like that idea..." She whispered. "Then it is settled. We shall strike at the night of the auction. Human, you are with the M&M, yes? If you manage to contact your people...the creatures here might end up getting out alive." The Dryad said, looking down. The Harpy smiled softly as she rested her head back. "That...sounds nice, actually. I haven't seen the sky in a while...I want to see it again." The Harpy purred. The werewolf scoffed a bit. "A human's going to help us escape. Well, there's a first time for everything."

...

The Auction came mere few days after, and the tension was high. People were being moved around, no fights were scheduled, and an overall feeling of dread spread across the entire area. Creatures who went in never returned. Some they never even knew about from again. It was now or never. They all waited, watching and waiting for their chance. It came as a guard walked in to make the rounds. The guard stepped into the cell area, stepping down the hall as he made a headcount. The werewolf howled at him, groaning loudly. "What the hell you want?" The Guard asked, hissing. "I injured myself." The Werewolf hissed, looking up painfully. "How?" "He kicked my cage so I bit him." The creature next door said, the guard groaning. He couldn't have a werewolf with an injury; it could become infected and die, which meant losing income. "Let me see. Where did he bit you?" The Guard asked, kneeling down as he stepped closer to the cell. "Right here." The Werewolf said. Once the guard was close enough, the werewolf pulled the guard by his collar, slamming his head against the bars as hard as he possibly could. The guard yelled in pain, his head denting the bars before falling back in agony. The werewolf smirked, taking a deep breath. "You can do this." The Harpy said. The werewolf nodded. "I know..." The werewolf said, his eyes glowing as he growled. He allowed himself to transform, his skeleton and body reforming as the wolf features appeared. As he did he grabbed his cell bars. Despite his hands burning at contact, he pulled as hard as he possibly could, creating an opening big enough for him to slither through. After he was out, he got to Allan's cell, pulling his cell open. Blood smeared against the bars as the skin hissed loudly. "Take his clothes and blend right in. I'll get the others out." The werewolf hissed. They didn't have the cell keys, he would have to help them out the old fashion way.

"I'm going to get as many people as I can out of here alive." Allan rest his head, looking at the Harpy.

"You'll see the sky again." he smiled softly.

The next few days were torture. Allan's wound slowly healed, and thankfully did not get infected. His rib was definitely broken, but his mind could not get off of Michael. For moments he believed all hope was lost, that he was never going to get out. They fed him, but it was only bread and water. It's a surprise they wanted him alive still. Allan did not sleep for long at all, and the night of the auction, he was on edge. Everyone was silent that night, the plan was in place, and as soon as the guard walked in, the energy among the monsters peeked. You could feel it in the air. The werewolf began his plan, and suddenly, the prison guard was thrown into the bars, knocking him out, and allowing a dent in the bars to be made. The werewolf broke free, and pulled the bars of Allan's cage apart.

"Thank you sir...please, take care of yourself." Allan placed a hand on the werewolf's shoulder, thanking him.

He took the guards clothes, taking off his shirt and buttoning up the new shirt, tucking it into the guards pants, which barely fit him. He stripped that guard down to his underwear, taking anything and everything that guard had on him, and threw him into his old cell. Allan pulled his bangs back, putting his hair under the security guards cap, trying to hide the mess it was in. He stood up as straight as he could, and with one look back at the others, stepped out the door.

He was free...but not really free. He began to walk the halls, watching the other guards around him, a centaur guard stopped in front of him, sniffed the air, and looked down. Allan tensed up and stopped walking.

"Oh shit Oh shit Oh shit."

The centaur stepped back, keeping his eyes on Allan as other guards walked past.

"What are you looking for?" the centaur spoke softly.

"Security room." Allan whispered back.

"Follow me, stay close." the centaur walked alongside Allan, who pressed himself against the wall.

They walked down three dark halls, and took a right. They were right beside the security room. The centaur stopped, and Allan peeked his head inside. There was only one creature inside. It did not look too threatening. Good. He stepped inside, as quietly as possible. He was a bird over his prey. Allan lift his foot, kicking the guard where the sun never shines, the guard cried out, falling to the ground as Allan leap on the man's back, grabbing the small pistol the cell-guard had and just began to hit the man in the back of the head. He kept hitting the guard until he fell unconscious, and Allan stood up. He looked frantically around the room. There were cameras everywhere. The action stage was being set up, with coffins. The same coffins that held Michael. Allan's skin crawled, but his heart didn't skip a beat until he looked at another screen. He blinked, staring hard. The screen showed a room with Madam Arachne, and the blonde-haired woman. The same blonde-haired woman from weeks ago. The same blonde-haired woman behind the crescent moon scar on his side. The same blonde-haired woman who was involved the Blood Moon Murders. Right near the TVs, Allan spy the emergency shut down button. Allan's hand press it, and as the alarms began to ring, Allan watched Madam Arachne and the blonde-woman run out of the room...and all hell broke loose.

All cell doors open, and in minuets, they would be overrun with creatures. Allan needed a phone, anything to get in contact with M&M. He ran out of the security room, and began the search for a cell-phone.

"I hope that you will find something to your tastes." Arachne spoke as she walked alongside the blond haired woman. The woman glanced around as the room filled itself with all kinds of people, and creatures. "You've not disappointed before. I don't see why it would be different this time." The woman said, glancing around. Arachne smiled in delight, watching as her people began to prepare for the auction, when suddenly, the alarms went off. The alarms played loudly for a moment before the lights went out, sending the entire place into darkness before the dim, red colored lights of the backup generator lit up. "Power Reset...?!" Arachne asked, snapping her head around as the guards began to run. From across the building, everything electronic was reset. Electronic gates and doors unlocked with loud clicks. Locks on sealed vaults released, the heavy doors slowly opening as the creatures from the inside crept out. Roars shook the base as they were let loose. It was a killing ground. Guards ran back and forth, grabbing a hold of their weapons as they tried to seal down the gates before anyone could escape. It was no use. As they tried to close one of the sections, a roar caught them off guard, a giant creature, a Manticore, rushing right through. The creature tackled a guard down, ripping at its throat as blood splashed on the walls. From behind it other creatures followed. A Selkie knocked Guards out of the way. The Werewolf threw guards across the air, making a path for those behind him. The Harpy used her sharp talons to slash at the faces of her attackers. The Dryad wasted no time in using her roots to trip Guards. Blood was spilled as hell rose. Bidders and guards ran for their lives as it was kill or to be killed. Before Allan could go far, he was suddenly tackled down. Sharp extremities stabbed into his skin, pushing him up against the wall. "You-!" Arachne hissed, pushing right through Allan's skin, blood pouring out as she pinned him like prey. "You did this, didn't you?!" She hissed, throwing Allan across the room and into the nearest wall, before pouncing onto him again, dragging him back to pin him against the wall. This time she used two of her legs to press his neck against the wall behind him. "I should have killed you off the moment I found out your humanity! You think you can just come around and ruin everything I've worked for?!" Arachne asked, choking the life out of Allan. "You humans have persecuted my kind for centuries! You think you can just wear a uniform and call yourself a savior for the supernatural kind?!" She screamed, furious as she began to draw blood from Allan's neck. "I'll rip you to pieces! I'll rip your skin and your bones! And then I'll go after your family! A fitting ending for those who decide to mettle with that to which they don't belong, don't you think, detective?!" She screamed, launching forward for the kill. Before she could, however, there was a shadow behind her, dashing swiftly across as a loud sound followed. Before she could reach Allan, Arachne could only gasp in pain. Suddenly, right from her torso, a machine pierced right through, cutting her in half with ease as the blood splattered all over the room. Her organs and bones crunched and shattered under the spinning blades of the weapon, ripping through flesh and mincing it like nothing. Her two pieces of body fell on the floor into even more pieces, blood covering Allan as he was dropped. "No matter how human they act, they always end up being just what they are, don't they?" The figure spoke, stepping into the light to show herself to be the mysterious blond woman. "Monsters." She said, walking around as she swung the blood off the saw like contraption, despite it's size, handling it with ease. She stepped closer to Allan, the boy by this point covered from head to toe in blood. "Never forget that. They're monsters. They always have, and always will be. No matter how much time passes, how much they try to learn to be civilized...they're nothing but animals still learning how to crawl. Deep inside, they're monsters, and nothing can change that. You know this, don't you? Working in what you do." The woman spoke, glancing down at Allan with pity. Before Allan could speak, the woman threw something to his hands; his cellphone. "I give you a chance now, because your people will get rid of this mess for me. But I warn you, Othello. If we meet again, and you still wear that badge you hold onto so proudly...you will be next, for the sake of humanity." She warned, holding her weapon close before walking away, disappearing among the chaos.

Allan began to run off to look for a phone before suddenly he was tackled down...by Madam Arachne. She stabbed into his skin and pushed him against the wall. Allan cried out, before he was suddenly thrown across the room, before being pinned against the wall again. Her legs pinned beside his neck.

"Yes...I did this." he smiled through the pain Madam Arachne was inflicting on him, before being choked. Honestly, Allan was scared. He did fear for his life because he had no plan. If the deus ex machina did not come, he would be dead. The god from the machine came in the form of a scream from Madam Arachne. Her body split right in half in front of Allan, Allan shutting his eyes as he fell to the ground, blood falling upon him. He opened his eyes again as the voice of the blonde woman spoke.

"I know that ma'am, but I will still do my job no matter what gets in my way." Allan spoke up to the woman.

"They may be animals, but they are also civil like me and you. Thank you." Allan stood slowly as he gripped his cellphone in his hand.

The blonde woman walked away without another word, Allan calling M&M.

"Othello!! Where the hell have you been!!" the very friendly voice of Warden greet him.

"Warden, it is actually nice to hear your voice. I'm in a bad spot and have no idea where I am. Track this phone and send forces here. You might need a lot. There are a lot of prisoners who just got out thanks to yours truly." Allan had a bit of pride in his voice.

"You're not being paid for the hours you missed."

"I don't need to be."

Allan hung up to let the Warden track the phone, before finding a route to the auction stage through the crowd of monsters. Allan kept to the walls and drugged his way up towards the action room, stopping right before he got too the stage. Bloodied figures sat right in front of the door. They looked up at Allan, and did not say a word. They simply let him pass. Allan burst in, grabbing a cloth from backstage and cleaning as much blood off his face as he could, pulling his bangs back and running towards the many coffins. Some vampires still lay unresponsive in their coffins. Allan frantically searched through the coffins, and stopped at about the seventh one he got too. It was Michael. Oh my god it was Michael. Allan's face lit up, pulling the stake from his chest, which was probably painful if you could feel it, but it was what was going to get Michael going again. Allan could feel tears watering up in his eyes as he pulled the restrains off of his partner, and after he was free, Allan took hold on his hand.
"It's okay Michael, M&M are on their way..." Allan spoke very softly, looking down at Michael.

Oh how Allan longed for him. They hadn't seen each other in days and at times Allan had thought Michael to be dead. The time they were split and the situations in which they were split was something that Allan never wanted to experience again.

Everything was blurry to Michael, even with the strong scent of blood shaking him awake. The world around him moved slowly, words and screams as mere echoes. The only thing that assured him it was real was the familiar scent in front of him. He gently opened his eyes, yawning slightly as he grunted in pain, feeling the hole in his heart slowly heal up. "...Allan...?" Michael asked, his voice low as he grabbed Allan by his arms. He lifted his gaze, his vision fixing on Allan a the world around them was ignored by his senses, even as police busted right into the room with guns a blazing. Michael blinked slowly, staring at Allan before smiling sleepily. He had been legally dead for a few days now, his body still adjusting as if he had just taken a long nap instead of actually dying, ever so slowly. "You're ok." Michael said, his hands moving up to Allan's face, gently holding his face in his hands. "You stink, but you're ok." Michael said, chuckling at his own statement as he sat up, not letting go of Allan before towering over him in height. Before Allan could say anything, Michael leaned in, rubbing his nose against Allan's, his forehead against Allan's, like a cat rubbing against their owner. "I had a nightmare that you got hurt real bad and I couldn't get out...I'm glad you're ok." Michael purred, his tone still sleepy as he pulled Allan closer, and ever so lazily and playfully landed a kiss on Allan's lips, even while the world around them was chaos.

Allan smiled brightly as Michael opened his eyes, holding onto Michael's hands.

"Michael." the world was fading around them as they reunite, as M&M began to rush in.

"I'm as okay as I can be." his eyes met Michael's as his hands gently touched his face.

"That spider bitch was kind of executed in front of me and I've been in a prison for three days." Allan laughed to Michael as he stood up, Allan making sure he kept his balance.

Before Allan could do anything, Michael leaned in, coming wayy too close, pressing his forehead against him.

"I'm glad you're okay too." Allan reached up to gently caress the side of Michael's face, before he only pulled him closer, playfully landing a kiss on his lips.

Allan leaned up, shyly returning Michael's kiss before letting go after a second.

The Warden stood at the back of the room Michael and Allan were in, her battle hammers in hand as she kept her eyes on the two, smiling softly at their interaction. M&M apprehended the prison, Michael and Allan being taken to the Cassio Family Hospital, much to Michael's dismay to be checked out. Allan did have a broken rib and got to eat some real food for the first time in a while, but Vilhelm had him on fluids. And after the Cassio kids heard Allan and Michael were back...they came to pester them once more.

Michael was out of it faster than Allan. Being a Vampire gave him healing benefits like that. While out and healthy, he helped Allan fill out the paperwork of the ordeal, and managed everything else with the Warden. Inside the hospital, Allan was given full attention, both physically and mentally. Scarlett and Felix were there when they were allowed to, making sure to entertain their new friend. They even brought him magazines and other stuff for him to read, though the tv was limited to the standard channels available for the hospital. Jacobo was the one who looked over his well-being while in the hospital, and administered his medicines. It had been a week since the rescue, and Jacobo stepped into the room where Allan lay, smiling at him. "Good day, Allan. Feeling better today? Hopefully my siblings didn't brother you much. We're already starting to lessen the dose of the painkillers, halfway there it seems." Jacobo said as he walked over to the window, opening the curtains to allow the sun in despite his momentary flinch of it. "The sun is proven to make the mood better for most creatures. Humans are included in that category. Vitamin D is very important." Jacobo said as he walked over to Allan, taking a seat next to his bed. "You are healing wonderfully, though you won't be allowed to return into the field anytime soon. Last time we saw each other the experience was merely superficial. But this..." Jacobo sighed, taking out his clipboard as he looked down at it, and then back at Allan. "I am concerned for your mental state. You may be physically healed soon, but mentally you are far from how you were before, Allan. I have lived long enough to see what happens when one's mind finally breaks. I do not wish to see that on you." Jacobo lowered his clipboard. "I talked with the Warden. The M&M has to remember that the physical of its workers is only part of it all. If they are mentally unfit, they will be just another victim, regardless their species. I have been granted permission to give you a medical leave away from the HQ...not like they had a choice. As my patient, I wouldn't have it any other way." Jacobo said as he smiled at Allan. "Soon you will be physically healthy enough to be discharged, but I believe it will be best for you to spend time with your family. It's been a while since you've seen them, right? Since you joined? They should do you wonders. I believe a month of medical leave should give you enough time to spend with family and think of your situation. If by the end of it I still see that your mind has yet healed, I'll extend it. I'll even assign you to a specialist who works with supernatural cases, and should be able to understand your worries, if you wish." Jacobo explained, sighing.

...

"It's been a while since I've seen you here." Michael perked his head up, looking back as Aldrich walked over to him. The two stood at the very top of the HQ's roof. Michael sat on the railing, an umbrella giving him shade. Aldrich walked over, covered by an umbrella of his own as he walked next to him. "I like this view." Michael admitted, looking back at the landscape of the city around them. Aldrich smiled at the gentle breeze that the height offered. "You're worried for the human." "How can I not be? This is the second time he's risked his life...and this time was much more serious than the last." "It's his job. He's to take the risk and accept it, regardless what comes after." Michael frowned. "I keep forgetting that he's human." "With an attitude like that? Me too." Aldrich frowned. "I'll be returning to France this week." Aldrich said. "Already?" "Yup." Aldrich looked over at Michael. "I'll still miss you." He cooed. "Not me." "Aw, you hurt me." Michael smirked, Aldrich smiling back at him before looking back up. "You got yourself a good one, Michael. I haven't met a human like that in a long, long time." Aldrich admitted, gripping the railing beneath tightly. "Don't clip his wings, Michael. The only way he will learn to fly is to let him fly. You might be scared for him to fall and get hurt, but that is something that all of us must learn. You're no longer human, but you have to remember how it was for you once." Aldrich said. Michael sighed, smiling as he closed his eyes. "I know." He said. "Something tells me he'll fly all the way to space, and if that is the case, I'll follow right behind him to catch him if he falls."
