Hi folks, 

I've looked around the forum a bit but never posted.

 

I had a thought while playing through the new missions released in KHUX. I don't know if this has been said before or if its just the common assumption but I had some thoughts as to how KHUX relates to KH3 (other than the obvious ways).

 

So we know that KHUX takes place in the world of sleep (as the Charithy are dream eaters.) We also know that it takes place much earlier in the timeline (specifically its the first key blade war if I'm not mistaken.) 

 

 

So the connection I'm making is with Ventus (surprise). 

He's one of the Dandelions who is supposed to continue the unions blah blah. Well I was thinking that as Ventus is currently in a catatonic/sleep like state that maybe KHUX is actually taking place in the present. I'm thinking that Ventus is having a sort of reliving of the events from this time (whether he was actually there or not?)  Similar to the events in DDD. Sora and Riku's bodies were still in the realm of light (we see Soras body just laying there when Riku decides to dive into his dreams. Mickey even says "Oh sora, don't tell me your heart is sleeping too."

 

Nomura has said that the games will connect but that a lot of major points of the plot won't be in KH3. So I'm thinking If Ventus is having a sort of memory rush while his heart is on leave, that when he wakes up he'll be the key to linking the games. Being able to recognize some small points that relate back to KHUX within the current times events. 

 

Further it could help lead to the next saga of events. (IE Roxas asks Sora and co. for help reuniting the Dandelions/Guilds)

 

Anyway, those are just some thoughts, I don't have much more detail than that or have any solid evidence either way. But I thought that it might be a possibility.

I hope it made sense (it made a lot more sense in my head than actually typing it out.) 

Also a final note, I am definitely not saying I WANT any of this to happen. These are just some random thoughts I had while playing! So if its completely wrong or out there thats fine

Or, to add on middle of your theory, he's literally living in the dream version of his past-meaning he's in Daybreak Town, and he's in the Chamber of Repose at the same time, for whatever reason. Basically, two Ventus'  at the same time, but different timeline. Don't know how that's going to work, that's my theory to add to your theory.

Yeah, thats more what I meant. Like in DDD when Sora and Riku were in the realm of sleep their bodies were still around in the realm of light. So essentially I meant he's pulling a DDD with his own memories. I'm gonna edit the post so it reflects that! Thanks.

Yeah, I have a feeling that Ventus will add some great importance to the plot of Kingdom Hearts III, given that he's from the X timeline, and that him having full access to his memories will allow him to warn his friends about what happened in the Age Of Fairy Tales and whatnot. It's like you said, he'll be the link that connects the timelines, and it'll probably provide a loose end that could be explored in the next saga! The idea of bringing back the Unions for the next saga sounds promising! It could be carried out well, given the proper tools and the proper setup, ya know?
