Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity 2010

Posted

First of all, I'm relieved I can finally have some communication xD

Today was Pro-Life Day of Silent Solodarity. Basically, Pro-Life supporters did not speak all day, wearing red arm bands and duct tape to identify themselves.

I participated in this today, and not once did I utter a word.

I was so glad to see I was not the only one.

I want to know who else participated in this?

I have to say, it's pretty difficult not having any say in anything xD

Pro Life is basically against abortion, and believe that everyone human, being born or unborn, has the right to live.

Pro Choice on the other hand is not necessarily for abortion like many perceive but more for freedom.

So I want to know what you support and if you participated in the Day of Silent Solidarity. (:

I've never heard of that until I read this, to be honest. All I know is that tomorrow is supposedly National Gay Day & that we should all wear purple. (?)

Anyway, I'm not totally opposed towards abortion.

One reason why I support it: Depending on the woman, having that child could be deadly or severely bad towards her life. Maybe she really wanted to have the baby but couldn't because it would just put to risk her life or the baby's. Believe me, I've heard of those cases.

One reason why I oppose it: Obviously, because it's killing a human life that's never going to get the chance to live.

Like I said, I don't oppose it, but I don't support it either. I just don't think we should do such immature acts of showing if you're against it or not because it only causes more problems towards everyone. Everyone has their own opinions & doing those things where you don't talk/or whatever only encourages stupid, mean people to fight even more.

Just my opinion.

The reason for this day is basically giving up your voice for those who will never have one.

Everyone has their own opinion of course, and I even saw some people with t-shirts supporting Pro Choice which is what I thought was pretty interesting.

I was happy participating in this day because well it's just odd, seeing everyone happily chatting away while you stay silent. It's a really weird thing to experience in my opinion.

And what really suprised me is that actually no one got in arguments.

People would ask me why I wasn't talking. And I had a note on hand explaining why. Some people took interest in it and others were like "OMG THAT'S SO COOL."

The reactions were fun to see, whether people were Pro Choice, Pro Life or neither, and I really liked participating in this day. c:

Never heard of this before... but now that I do... I believe I'll participate next year. owo

I ish pro-life for myself... but I believe that others have the right to choose for themselves.

Im actually ashamed Ireland is one of the very few (practically the only developed country) countries that has abortion as illegal except for understandable exceptions

I'll try to do it next you like my Second Cousin/ Distant aunt Nona in Italy. But im an EXTREMELY loud person. I can barely go five minutes wothout talking .-.
