Hey there everyone, how's it going!? So then, as you all know, copyright issues are always a problem when one uploads a video to Youtube, for even when one states that the content in question is being used only to incite discussion and generate hype for something and not for profit, the whole copyright issue still strikes all Youtubers in the behind! It's a really bothersome thing! I've experienced that kind of problem more than once! I even got a video I uploaded recently taken down, despite disputing the copyright claim, stating that I had every right to use the copyrighted content because I was not using it for any profit gaining! But despite all that, my video got taken down, and you'll all recall that it's the one where I discussed which anime I thought needed another season. So then, with that in mind I, The Friendly Neighborhood Webhead, would like to rant about this bothersome issue!

This really sucks. I know I'm not the only Youtuber that suffers through this, and this issue can really just discourage people from uploading content altogether, ya know?

It's a violation of Fair Use. I've seen videos of anime scenes posted where the uploader monetises it and no action is taken against them and it really sucks! So in YouTube's eyes: full anime scenes w/ monetisation = okay; discussion video including small clips = not okay. Like what??

It sounds surprising at first but then you think about how YouTube handled the whole Logan Paul thing, or rather how they did absolutely nothing. >.>

Peace!

I was once an AMV maker. They might not be perfect like others. But I once had those darn moments all because of the songs I'm using. I've tried Video Game music and I think some are still there. That's one of the reasons why I stopped making AMVs besides starting that Community College life.

EDIT: I only see 2. I must've removed them for some reason.

I agree with this. It is hard for youtubers especially ones without a network behind them to avoid these types of strikes.

Yeah, Youtube can sometimes really be all over the place. The fact that they will take down videos that are inoffensive and are within the fair use of copyright content, and yet other videos that do much worse things are kept up and running! It's sad, really.

Oh yeah, that's another thing that really kills a person's willingness to upload content. When one makes AMV's, one does it with respect and with admiration towards the creators of said content, and yet because of the whole copyright issue, many AMV's get taken down! It's just messed up!

Indeed. I just really hope that Youtube fixes this issue, because they weren't this strict a few years ago. This has been more of a recent thing!
