Okay so I didnt catch it the first time but when you give Saix his final blow in KH3 he says, "We have achieved our goal"
And at first I thought wow okay, a lap dog to the end eh Saix?
But after watching his final moments I remembered how Vexen said one of the chosen was helping and how the plan was his idea. And I realized that Saix plan was not only to help bring Roxas back, but it was to die as a Nobody again so that he could be with Lea.
I wondered then if that was why his fight was so easy. I played on proud and out of all the fights in that finale Saixs was the easiest and I was shocked because just thinking back on his KH2 fight he was way harder.
Of course that could be down to them nerfing him like they did a lot of other characters (Vanitas, Ansem, Xemnas were just jokes compared to the first rounds we fought them) but I like to think there was maybe something more to Saixs last fight.
That he knew he had to be struck down to return to being human, and so he fought but not with much of his heart in it.
I'm probably over thinking it, but that line and realization that he was on a suicide mission to get back to being with his friend made that scene a lot more emotional for me.
And of course he'd come back but still, I doubt it's fun to die.
